Reddit trannies are kind of known for having blackened ass hateful relationships with straight people so honestly no surprise there as goofy as it is.

If you could gain a year, a month, or even a mere few seconds of life for each time a reddit tranny janny went off the rails and started smugly calling for the extermination or conversion of all "cishets" it is very likely that you could live for the equivalent of the beginning of genshin's lore timeline to the current 500 year cataclysm coma awakening part, and that's including the stuff involving the primordial one that took place before the archons even existed!

Oh wow i actually heard of this in passing yesterday but apparently it got more traction today. It wasnt on the genshin subreddit but the ArlechinoMains subreddit and because someone posted Aether X Arlechino fanart, which the mod called "out of character". This lead to people posting even more arlechino X aether fanart until the mods banned those people and said they would "quality control" so only in character art is allowed, whatever that means.

I didnt keep track but found this quick summary.

This is peak janny behavior by itself but also especially autistic because Arlechino literally isnt out yet and it's heavily implied her shown personality so far is fake. This is literally subreddit mod complaining that people are posting his waifu in a straight ship instead of feeding their "lesbian dommy mommy" headcanon.

And the mods probably have zero problem with "out of character" shit for literally any other character.

Arlechino runs a fucking orphanage network and operates her branch of the fatui lke a mafia family. I wouldn't say her personality is "fake" in the normal sense, it's more like we haven't really seen her completely outside a professional setting. She works for the bad guys but also clearly has at least a little bit of something more going on with her given she didn't kill the Hydro archon she was originally hired to steal the gnosis from when she found out Furina didn't even have the gnosis on her person and had some weird bad juju shit going on with her that made her a lot weaker than other Archons.
She's a lot more subtle and less hand-wringy than other Harbingers, I'll give her that. Clearly up to something, but not exactly unhinged or constant gloating levels like the last 4. So far this chapter of the story seems to be "people that were normally foes becoming uneasy allies dealing with a bigger threat of a mass human extinction event prophecy". The fatui are still up to shady shit as usual, but they aren't as hostile as usual, to the point there's an entire world quest where you think they're up to something but they're actually just trying to slack off since they have almost fucking nothing else to do in Fountaine aside from snag the gnosis since most of the shit is under the fucking water and there's some weird tainted ancient water leaking up from the depths that in high enough concentrations literally melts people if they're from fontaine. It doesn't just do that either, it also causes weird effects in people sensitive to hydro energy in general! how fun!

I'm going from what both Childe and Scara talk about her.

Childe: Look, I've got nothing against people who have their own agendas — I myself joined the Fatui to get more experience in combat. But I don't like her at all. If she stood to benefit from betraying others, she'd turn against the Tsaritsa in a heartbeat. There isn't a sane bone in her body.

Wanderer: A wolf in sheep's clothing. To exert a higher level of control over people, she puts on a graceful and cordial front. Most of those who have seen her true, crazy self... have gone poof.

That's two characters who know her personally and call her fake and manipulative. Liney and linete make her ("father") sound better but they are obviously biased since she groomed Liney to replace her (if she meant it...) and saved linete from sex slavery (yes, this is a thing that happened).

Also remember that her Fatui reveal trailer she was openly agressive, calling the other fatui cowards and telling them to shut up to "not make the children cry", with the implication she is mocking Childe (he replies next saying this isnt the time to argue).

All i'm saying is that Arlechino is obviously meant to be suspicious as fuck, saying shit like "The children are all happy and no one wishes to disturb such peace" and trying to pressure Furina into letting her acess the prison. Even the traveler points that she can't possibly be this friendly. Don't be surprised if Childe getting jailed was all part of her secret plan to find the gnosis and she starts acting like a very different person when she fights.
 
Kinda unrelated rant and I'm at fault too, I know Childe is shorter to say - write and all, but it's his Harbinger title, not his real name. Something something English localization again. Listening to Japanese audio, characters, in game UI and voice actors refer him as Tartaglia.
Dottore and Capitano don't count, it's MHY being "lazy" like Ubisoft using Japanese words for higher tier upgraded Sanctuary units in HoMM 6.

About Arlecchino, I wouldn't put much expectation on her real or so horrible personality comments from both Scara and Childe.
Genshin is popular enough to have CCP eyes on, having an "evil" or "moral ambuguity" playable character doesn't bode well for China values.
Then considering how friendly and more intimacy characters can be with Teapot voice lines, comparing to friendship - story voicelines.

There is no such a thing as "but CCP would never allow evil character cause it makes china look bad", that's conspiracy, just like the idea that it's "illegal" to balance gacha units post release (a bunch of chinese gachas do that but its shameful).

I dont know if this was mentioned but i wasnt here at the time, this isnt even the case with genshin because Scaramouche WAS evil and china fucking hates him already. There was this viral +10k post on the main genshin subreddit talking about how chinese players fucking hate Wanderer for being a "war criminal who got away by erasing people's memories of him". It allegedly got dark enough that haters were killing cats and doxing OP.


Childe was completely willing to destroy China and the game loves him. Scara was laughing at Tepei's death and calling you pathetic, only to be given a tragic backstory and pass most of his blame to Dottore. I'm not saying it will happen but it would be very easy to make Arlechino evil and redeem her by saying she "she only wanted to protect the poor orphans".

Don't forget that her main stated motivation so far is to make sure that gay water won't dissolve everybody in Fontaine. That's why she needs gnosis. Getting to use gnosis to stop gay water was her condition to join PMC LMAO. She is a fucking patriot of Fontaine and her problem with Furina is that she sucks ass and doesn't appear to do anything usefull to mitigate the upcoming disaster. Like a less whacky version of Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods protagonist.

Not exactly I was going for "Evil characters making China looks bad" , it's more on idea of associating with bad - dubious people will influence you badly, "please think of children and youths", because video games are for children. Especially when MHY advertises Arlecchino on social media - internet in general, it's a no go to advertising an "evil" person or person had committed "horrible" act.

My powerleveling, I live in VN. So we (my government) share some similar politics and beliefs with China. Any kind of viral action (doing wheelie trick on motorbike, teenagers or not), cursing - swearing and spreading false information - defamation on social media, they'll be charged for fines and worse apprehended/arrested.
For example, tide pods eating, grimace shake challenge or Ishowspeed having fireworks in his home won't fly here. The one starts those tiktok challenge and any streamers do what Ishowspeed did, all of them will get some hefty fines.

That reddit thread about Scara, it wasn't post here. But it has like two reddit thread follows up.

Amusingly enough, the OP actually gets doxed by that"small" toxic fanbase forums. There was actually 4chan post about this as well, I didn't care much back then, take a grain of salt from me if you think so. The OP is a woman simping for Wanderer and frequently complaining about China this, China that on twitter.
Also from 4chan themselves talking about how Chinese hates Scara beside being "war criminal", he "steals Nahida waifu" from players and made her a boring character.

I never heard anything noteworthy but i assume it has it's niche dramas. Genshin had an (allegedly) mini drama about chinese players finding Haitham and Kaveh relationship "too gay" and backlash but didnt seem to go nowhere. Every country in genshin has a strong yaoi pseudo-ship aimed at fujos and Mihoyo also made an otome dating/VN game called Tears of Themis that allegedly has a lot of fujoshi fans who ship the main characters with each other. There might be other chinese games aimed at fujos but nothing ever too explicit and at most you get some chinese player backlash (i think path to nowhere, another gacha had some recently).

Either way btw, they delayed the genshin 4.2 stream in 5-7 days because a chinese politician died or something... No codes yet...

btw² if anyone is interested in Argenti and huohuo in Star Rail, they gave Huohuo a significant buff so she works kinda like luocha now, after using a skill she creates a two turn "field" that regens everyone who on their turn and can cleanse up to 6 times per skill cast, making her the best cleanser in the game by far now and all automatically. Her c1 was also buffed to give increase her field to +1 turn and +12% speed for entire team and c2 gives two ally resurrections per battle (wow rip bailu).
 
I won a Welkin Moon from a web event where I had to make a post about the "character that left the deepest impression on you when you first met." Now it's sitting in my inventory and the hoarder in me kind of wants to leave it there until I really need it (or forever).

I won it on a daily login event on my nearly maxed account, instead of my other one which kinda needed a Welkin Moon at the time.
