for clarification, it wasn't aimed at anyone in here, but the loud retards trying to turn the game into the dark souls of gatchas - while being too dumb to understand that powercreep is literally paid for and advancement after a certain point is pure artifact RNG, just so they can justify whaling for c6r5 in a casual mobilegame...

also I was wrong, I actually got 49 chars. I wish the game would stop giving me fucking dilucs, mondstadt batman is now my highest 5* ffs and I didn't even grab his outfit in 2.8 reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I'm not sure if thats just me, but when I use dendro without hydro, it feels extremely underwhelming. My Nahida is really well built (for me*) and I like her a lot and she does a good amount of damage just by doing her thing, but without a proper hydro character involved she isn't exactly blowing my mind.

Right now my fav team for "just playing in the world" is Nahida + C6 Xing + C6 Fischl + C6 Diona

*for me: I try to look up whats good artifacts for the character and stats for those artifacts and grind for those and try to have as little def as possible unless Def is good like Noelle. But I don't go and try to find the 1 in a million super turbo artifact that youtubers somehow find to make 10 trillion damagepoints happen.
I'm was farming handguards with yae + nahida and 2 flex spots whoever needs some exp because lol.

the problem with artifacts (among a dozen of other things) is that said def artifact might become good at some point. heck it might be the perfect flex artifact if you can cover the set with 4 other pieces. I trashed all my DEF martial artist stuff which would be great on itto (since he's one of the few glad doesn't really work on), knowing you trashed that "it would be perfect" artifact last month hurts, not to mention farming them.

Hey, are you me? Beidou and Xinyan are my highest investment characters and I desperately try to make Xinyan work as much as possible. Beidou is easy because she's actually incredible, but Xinyan, even with C6 and strong artifacts, is kind of a pain in the ass. My experiences with Xinyan is also why I'm so worried about Dehya. I respect the users ITT saying they don't care about meta or tierlist viability, which is fair. I don't really either. If a character is to my liking, I will try my hardest to make them work. Unfortunately I'll just have to also agree with the users directly above me. If a character is bad and/or feels awkward to play, not even my enjoyment of their character lore/visual design can save it in the long run. Eventually they'll be benched.
chars still have some roles, and you can only build them so far in a certain direction. the other aspect is how much work (and skill) you'd have to put into it instead of just #yolo it with john lee's shield and ungabunga. you could run xinyan as your main fielder, but it probably will be less effective than say an euler or diluc.

however the game is still easy enough that you actually can do it, which is another thing that annoys me about this whole MUH ENDGAME whining. there's a reason lot of chars don't really work in the abyss, because it's all about effectiveness. trying to make the whole game sweaty means you simply can't use most chars because they are less effective. and then to sell you new chars (since mihoyo wants you to roll for them) means they have to be even more effective, leading to a powercreep spiral most gatchas (or f2p in general) succumb to because it's easy and lazy game design. genshin made over 4 billion so far, while most people have already forgotten about tower of fantasy, if they even noticed. it's obvious what works and what doesn't.

anyway, back to best brown girl (till 3.5):
check this out: https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1LZ4y1b7AE/
taken from https://old.reddit.com/r/Genshin_Impact/comments/wrecjn/why_xinyan_is_a_well_designed_character_an/ - I know it's fucking reddit, but it's one of the few things the format works for.
also: https://old.reddit.com/r/XinyanMains/ - haven't really looked at it, so might be more memes than actual helpful stuff.

given how meta-commentary mihoyo is, they really need to give xinyan an outfit with her hair down and at the same time dehya one with twintails

watching the video also made me notice something else, if all the whiners really wanted a challenge they would pick one of the weaker chars and try to make it work instead of sticking to the latest FOTM, whaling for it and then crying for "hard content". it would also remove all the fun for people that play weaker chars. another reason why I have no respect for those retards.

If you want to have an idea of which artifact sets are good for which characters, then use this community spreadsheet. Don't worry, it has some helps from meta nerds/theory crafter, so it's good reference for building each character. You still need to figure out building your own team comp though.

If you don't wanna be turbo like meta nerds or content creators (spending more money on primos and converting primos to resin), I think if you manage to roll for appropriate main stats for artifact set is good enough, then optimizing your team comp.

For dendro, it is a reaction element, it's designed to be combined with other element. There isn't or hasn't a dedicated Dendro support yet, you know like Sara, Gorou and Faruzan for their respective element. Pretty much huge green damage you see on screen are either Spread or Hyperbloom reaction from other players gameplay. And your team comp is well not really optimized for either reaction I'd say.

I mean I delete everything in the overworld in a few seconds, thats what its for. Diona is mainly to shield long enough until everything is dead and when I take damage due to *whatever* (usually like walking right into red exploding barrels), she heals so I don't have to bother healing otherwise.

I'm aware its not optimal, of course, but I only need optimal in the abyss (and there only in the real late stages) and I find the abyss boring. I don't want to know how many primos I've already wasted by simply forgetting/ignoring it.
it's actually not bad, nahida definitely puts out enough dendro to keep up with xingqiu so you'll end up trading hydro/dendro auras and get a good mix of aggravate and blooms. i've done abyss floors with a similar team (kokomi, nahida, yae, fischl). diona is the only one that doesn't really work well, maybe he could replace her with em shinobu to be a bit more optimal but it's honestly fine just for overworld stuff either way
Yeah I thought about Shinobu but I couldn't be arsed to get her to lvl 90 yet and ... Diona is C6 while she is C2 and has no shield. Maybe I'll exchange her for Zhongli and his nice Burst of Damage. I was also thinking about leveling my Thoma since he was the first 4* I ever got to C6 and I've ignored him forever. But apparently with that new set which I've forgot how its called he could be really good for reactions with Nahida.

I know it's for overworld, so it's whatever. It's that I kinda look at it a awkward long cooldown elemental skill and high energy requirement for both off-field fps chars.

This is even easier than I thought, even Shinobu at level 80 with high EM is good enough for hyperbloom. My team for brain dead overworld is Barbara-Nahida-Kuki-Xingqiu (Xingqiu here is flex slot, so swap him for whatever needed). So I have only minor annoyances with mobs can raggdoll me and C0 Kuki missing full uptime for her elemental skill.

Depends if you want or okay with getting Desert Pavillion set long with Paradise Lost set, then farm that domain. Otherwise, Gilded dreams set is good enough for Thoma.

Started farming Emblem again since my Xianling has been running a cobbled together set back before I really started farming hard.

Of all that farm (About 30 condensed resin so far):

Started as a 3 line, first real upgrade went CR, then the next 3 all CD.

A decent Goblet and a CR Circlet and I'll call her done.

The good news: THEY ADDED HP% SCALING TO DEHYA SKILL AND BURST
The bad news: The buff was minimal and they nerfed her attack scaling even more so she's still bad
bonus: they increased her stagger resistance to 9 second from 6 (yes, i didnt even now that had a time limit)

this is the current state of the dehya subreddit

Update: Got Hu Tao C1, got Yelan (and was able to get her to Lvl 90 nearly immediately), Got Mona C3. All the 4*s were already at C6 for me so pulling those was very, very painful.

Not sure if this was a good idea, but Xingqiu bored me and I wanted someone else. I know, they're best together but I don't think I wanna do that.

I also took a shot at 20 wishes for her Bow, proving once again I'm a fucking retard. It was terrible, failed, and felt like a huge waste of primos. Only got one shit Liyue Claymore that I'll never use out of it and another Xiangling, which I, of course, already had at C6.

I have 30 wishes or so left so I'm hoping Dehya somehow gits guder or at least her 4 Star Lineup rules.

Related to my update: I'm still shit at playing Mona and don't really understand her. Help. Or is she just obsolete and only feels like she is shit? Her burst usually does >40k damage but it feels eh...

Edit: Checked the Dehya subreddit and its gold. They are very depressed. I'll admit so am I. I really wanted her to be good.

mona is a fantastic support character but she only shines in more specific teams. her skill applies a decent amount of hydro and distracts enemies and doesn't have 100% uptime, but her burst is really what you're using her for most of the time. there are a few tricks to it though, depending on what type of team you're using.
her two best roles are as a freeze team support and as a hydro nuke. if you're using her for freeze you want to make sure that you only use her burst on enemies that already have cryo applied to them. normally when you use her burst it traps enemies in a bubble state for 8s, then when you pop it it will do a big chunk of damage and apply a large "omen" damage buff against that enemy for 4-5s. if you use it on an enemy affected by cryo though, the duration doesn't actually start ticking until they unfreeze. even after you pop the bubble, as long as they're still frozen the omen buff will stay active without the timer ticking down. if you use it like this you can stretch out the damage buff much longer because it lasts the entire time they're frozen + 4-5 additional seconds. her personal damage isn't usually as important in this type of team so you should use her with a fav codex + noblesse. with a high crit rate and her skill being off field she's very good at supplying energy to your team (she also has a passive that converts ER to hydro damage which is a nice bonus).
for hydro nuke the usual team is mona, bennett, sucrose, and a filler, usually yanfei for pyro resonance + ttod. again, there's a trick with this team too. to get the most damage out of her burst you need to make sure to vaporize the hit when it pops. to set this up, you need to use her burst on an enemy that already has pyro applied, which will remove the pyro and leave them with no aura. then you have to wait a couple seconds for her ICD, then use a pyro hit to pop the bubble. the reaction indicators won't show this but what ends up happening is that the pyro hit will apply an aura, then the bubble popping will vaporize that for massive damage. with the right rotation you can easily get 100k+ nukes even with relatively low investment. you'll want to swirl hydro first, then switch to bennett and use skill + burst (make sure they have a pyro aura), switch to mona, use her burst (it should vaporize and leave the enemy without an aura), optionally switch to ttod user and back to mona, then after the 2s ICD timer is over switch from mona to bennett and quickly use his skill to pop the bubble (mona will keep the attack buff from his burst for a second or two after switching). enjoy one shotting regisvines lol. usually in this team you'll run her with emblem set + widsith because every buff helps her burst a lot.

This is probably better suited for the genshin community tab but uh, turns out Tighnari's voice actor got outed as a pedo who sexted underage fans

BUT WHO CARES LOL what matters is that i won 50/50 and got yelan EXACTLY at 75 soft pity! Weeeee

Do you have at least a R1 dragon bane? The windmissive spear from the event is better than most spears on hu tao too, ts a good atk stick and gives EM for free. Otherwise best you can hold is white tassel for the crit rate OR spend the glitter on a blackcliff but it's not great.

I have a crescent pike and an engulfing lightning, currently doing the chasm now so hoping to at least get a white tassel

with my luck getting stuff I don't need and the game feeding me pyro units I might get her without spending much, really want to save for nilou, maybe alhaitham down the line if there's no other dendro deeps in the meantime.

just get a deathmatch.

After kind of wanting her since she launched but skipping all her banners, today I went "hmm, this is the day I will roll for Hu Tao" and won the 50/50 at 74 wishes. I think her rapping and being cute at the lantern rite dinner did its job and pushed me to waifufag pull her. Then I retard-rolled on the weapon banner and somehow got Homa first try.

I'm pretty happy with my luck turning around again after getting wrecked by Sumeru characters.

if you have some spare wishes i really recommend getting her c1. i had forgotten how much of a difference it made until i did her trial, not having to worry nearly as much about managing stamina and spamming 60k+ charge attacks over and over feels so much nicer

It's tempting, but I was already at ~55 pity when I rolled for her and I want nothing more to do with this banner of 4 stars that I already have all at C6. I got used to jump cancelling with Ayaka, I'm hopeful that I can make it work and not be constantly out of stamina. Maybe if I hate playing her I'll go for a constellation when she reruns in another YEAR.
