Genshin is probably one of those games that wouldn't be so fucking vile would've been better if it wasn't in the public spotlight, and wasn't controlled by a scummy company that is Mihoyo. It's honestly a shame that this game is severely hated by everyone because of its severely retarded fanbase. Personally, I think the cute mythical Chinese theme and the setting is what makes Genshin so unique. Also Lisa, Ganyu and Yae Miko are best girls.

they may be chinks, but dunno where the scummy comes from. I get people don't like gatcha because other games shit the bed and exploit the fuck out of it, but in the end it's just a business model - it matters how it's implemented. paying $70+ for a shitheap like cp2077 isn't much better really. and then you look at genshin, where you can play the whole game without spending literally any money - and what you can buy is just stuff that makes it a bit different, maybe easier, but that's it. you're not forced at all whereas other games have no issue to squeeze you via powercreep.

that's not a blanket defense of mihoyo or gatcha, but every case needs to be looked at separately, in line with someone's principles. I dislike lootboxes because I dislike RNG, but even there are ways around it (for example I'd never have played genshin if there wasn't a pity which makes things a lot more calculatable).

I like the game, I just make it a point to avoid 99.9% of the Fandom surrounding the game. That 0.1% is basically here, where we can also just shit on it when it does something worth shitting on without getting dogpiled.

It’s a case of the right game being in the right place, at the right time. Add in a Modern Game Dev that actually seems to give a shit - a fucking rarity these days - I’m not surprised the games blown up like it has. Even if it attracts the worst of the Fujo’s and crazies…

I hear that a lot, and I've seem some stupid shit here and there, but ironically whenever I interact with the "community" I don't really see it. even fucking reddit is actually readable (ofc they got their retarded takes, it's reddit and the game is big enough it's statistically impossible to not attract it's fair share of retards, but even that number feels kinda low), it seems reddit's echochamber mechanics actually work for a change, and when you don't have jannies pushing their agenda.
heck even the random offtopic /v/ thread is probably one of the better ones (but then that can be said about every offtopic thread on every board) where it's mostly about the game, shitposting and waifufagging with legit discussion inbetween.
maybe it helps that the retarded shitposters with MUH GATCHA MUH CHINKS MUH BOTW are easy enough to spot and ignore when it's obvious they never played the game.

I have ~160 fates right now and should be close to my next 5 star though so if I get lucky I can pull it all off

Also I had something weird happen to me:
Some person just came in my co-op (matching by a domain), looked at the rest of us (I was Nahida), said "Ew..." and left.

Then she or he gave me a friendrequest and blocked me so I definitely would notice I was blocked.

I'll just leave that friend request open so I can attempt to accept it regularly. One day we'll be friends. And thats a threat.

I was mainly surprised because thats the most taaawxic thing I've ever witnessed in Genshin. So far I've just seen some people crapping on each other for low levels or getting at each other for being C2 and therefore I SHOULD BE GANYU AND NOT YOU I WILL QUIT IF I CAN'T BE GANYU WHY ARE YOU ASKING IF I HAVE AUTISM

by far, i know i'm rolling but i still have no idea what for. i have c1 hu tao but have missed homa every time and i have c0 yelan but i got her bow. i'm leaning towards going for a yelan constellation, mainly to help with her energy. she has zero issues when running with xingqiu, which i usually do, but on her own she can struggle a bit with my current energy recharge and i would hate to sacrifice her damage.


if anyone is on the fence about yelan: get her. if your excuse is "but i already have c6 xingqiu": definitely get her, together they're even more broken and can easily pump out as much or more damage than most dedicated dps characters. with my current stats yelan's burst starts out hitting 12k each and ramps up from there, and xingqiu's c2 makes it hit even harder (plus his own damage contribution, obviously).

I pulled Itto and he seems pretty fun. I have Gorou and Yun Jin too so I could build a Geo team but none of them are particularly built at the moment. Part of me wants to try and roll for Itto's claymore since I have exactly 0 5* weapons, but I also really want to save for Raiden since she pairs up nicely with Yae Miko, who I've already been using on my hyperbloom/aggravate teams.

yep. xingqiu c2 reducing hydro res buffs her damage even more and his skill generates a lot of particles they can share which significantly reduces her energy recharge requirements, especially if he's using sac sword. without him you'll probably want around 200% minimum, possibly up to 250% depending on the team she's in. she also scales entirely off hp and doesn't require attack at all so the hydro resonance increasing your team's hp by 25% is another nice buff. coincidentally, one of her best teams also includes zhongli and hu tao, who also scale off hp.
she also allows for some fun meme teams like mono hydro if you have kazuha which can be pretty fun and surprisingly effective. on her own she really is just 5 star xingqiu, trading a bit of utility for a lot of damage, but together they complement each other extremely well so i would say it's absolutely worth getting her even if you already have xingqiu built.

I only noticed because I watched an Xlice video on Nahida where he had 10 available and started pouring through the options to find it.

Depending on how my Raiden pulls go I will go after Hu Tao then Yelan since I've had their weapons for so long.

But I really want Raiden so here's hopping I don't waste every trying to get her and have enough left over to try for her weapon too.

I'm just wondering if they're going to make another attempt at balancing so that not being a prop won't still be the best strategy and how many areas will have no vertical components whatsoever because mobile players don't know how to look up.

Honestly, I've never pulled for any weapon. When I started I got the mantra that the weapon banner is a scam ingrained into me and just worked with that forever. I collected the primordial jade spear and the skyward pride by accident but thats all I got. I always preferred getting characters. Weapons give better numbers, characters give interesting skills. Also since I wanted the catch level 5 for raiden, that gave me a reason to fish.

Question at others: Am I making a huge mistake by never pulling weapon banners?

No. I avoid the weapon banners not only because I've had poor luck with them every time I've tried, but because one new character opens up far more possibilities than one more weapon with slightly better stats that only one character can use a time.

the weapon banner is a scam. that’s not to say the weapons are bad, they can be a huge upgrade, but the actual chances of getting what you want in a reasonable amount of wishes is entirely up to luck.
for anyone who doesn’t know how bad it is, even though there are 2 weapons listed on the banner, your chances aren’t actually 50/50. you have a 75% chance to get one of the two listed weapons and a 25% chance to just get a weapon from the standard banner. if you fail to get one of the two, then your next 5 star is guaranteed to be one of the two main weapons but it’s still a 50/50 on which. this used to be the only form of guarantee until they added fate points, which can still require you to spend up to 240 wishes to ensure one copy of the weapon of your choice. if you aren’t ok spending that many wishes then i’d say avoid it entirely.

Yunjin isn't going to do anything for itto since you 3 geo characters and what she really needs is a rainbow team. I'd put noelle in the team if you don't have zhongli or another shielder like diona and maybe Bennett or just a flex character for the forth slot.

If you have literally no other 5 stars then save those rolls for new ones for now. Getting a universal support like Kaz/Zhong or an off field enabler subdps like nahida/yelan would help you a looot more than a 5* weapon, especially one that is super niche. You can get a free 4* spear for raiden on the inazuma fishing shop called The Catch that is very good on her so use that instead. If you have fishing, the sumeru fish store has a gadget that makes it easier.

If you're f2p or early game it's not worth it, but if you're late game and have enough top tier 5*s to cover your roles (anemo cc, cryo dps, pyro dps, hydro enabler, nahida/zhong/raiden) AND you would get more value from core weapon refines then it can pay off IF (big if here) you get lucky.

But dont trust me much since i got survivor bias with weapon banner. Got a homa in 1 ten pull, then gambled on yae banner and got Jade Cutter, then gambled more and got mist splitter. My only regret was going +200 rolls on the jade spear + aqua banner cause it took 3 pities to get the bow. I got Atlas and Jade which sound good but i still have no one to use them and then i got another one later on standard banner and now i feel like garbage for leaving it there at level 1. This means i have three 5 stars weapons no one is using but i guess it could be worse...

But the risk is always there. It's not a mistake to avoid it since rolling can easily turn into a much bigger mistake and waste of primos. I actually only started rolling on weapon banner for sacrificial swords because xinqiu feels TERRIBLE without it. Dont even consider unless both 5* are good and the 4*s are all excellent and you can handle the worst case scenario of getting a second skyward sword.

Yunjin isn't going to do anything for itto since you 3 geo characters and what she really needs is a rainbow team. I'd put noelle in the team if you don't have zhongli or another shielder like diona and maybe Bennett or just a flex character for the forth slot.

Yunjin has anti-synergy with itto anyway cause he's a charge atacker and she is a normal atk buffer. You may do some normals to charge you oni stacks but realistically speaking Itto wont even use half of yunjin flags. It's one of his big downsides compared to noele. Cant use xinqiu or yelan either but noele can.
