I have one level 5 Sac and one Level 4 just by pulling on the other banners. I don't think pulling on weapon banners even helps with that.

Your experience is lucky and it's going to vary a lot from people to people. I am AR 59.5 and until this day i only have 1 sacrificial claymore and 1 favonius spear from early on, with zero Flutes despite rolling on multiple weapon banners.

Weapons banner has 5 weapons rate up (50% chance of any 4* you get to be one of the featured ones, effectively being 10%) which is still a gamble but if you roll enough you're going to get something there regardless. There are usually 1-3 bad weapons (eye of perception, the bell, etc..) but the fav and sac series are all very good and borderline mandatory for some characters to function.

I was mainly surprised because thats the most taaawxic thing I've ever witnessed in Genshin. So far I've just seen some people crapping on each other for low levels or getting at each other for being C2 and therefore I SHOULD BE GANYU AND NOT YOU I WILL QUIT IF I CAN'T BE GANYU WHY ARE YOU ASKING IF I HAVE AUTISM
first year I encountered some peak DILUC_GAMING on childe with my lvl60 barb at the time, apparently that low lvl for a support was the reason the ganyu and the rest got oneshotted (it's not like everything scales up with player numbers or something and you need to dodge). jokes on them, now I do most shit solo so they can look for someone else to get carried.

only other dude recently I allowed to join asked if I could help with two bosses, which makes me wonder how many instances he went through...

That WAS my main reason for not pulling her, she felt like "Xingqiu but never C6 and with boobs" to me.
that could be said for half the 5* - ganyu is 5* cryo amber, senhe is 5* rosaria, cyno is 5* razor etc., that's why I'm not surprised if dehya ends up 5* pyro chongyun or xianling.

waifus are the real endgame anyway.

weapon-wise there should always be a 4* alternative, only annoying part is by now those are gated behind the weapon banner as well. sure, better odds, but still...
least there's really no need to have a 5* stat stick, talents at 9 with some not so shitty artifacts will carry you through 98% of the game.

I pulled Itto and he seems pretty fun. I have Gorou and Yun Jin too so I could build a Geo team but none of them are particularly built at the moment. Part of me wants to try and roll for Itto's claymore since I have exactly 0 5* weapons, but I also really want to save for Raiden since she pairs up nicely with Yae Miko, who I've already been using on my hyperbloom/aggravate teams.
serpent spine. some might frown upon spending money on a gatcha game AND battlepass, but it's like 10 bucks for 6 weeks, shouldn't break the bank considering what you get out of it.
still don't know why everyone says gorou is itto's pocket support, that 8-10 second buff is annoying af (and runs out during the burst, haven't checked yet if the burst snapshots, otherwise it would be ass).

Actually going to be pulling on a banner for once. Since starting a couple of months ago, I've just done singular 10 pulls on the banner just to test luck, only to never get any 5*... But I really want Raiden so here's hopping I don't waste every trying to get her and have enough left over to try for her weapon too.
if you haven't hit pity yet you should be close, keep in mind there's always the coinflip (dunno if the first ever pull is a guarantee).

Considering a lot of games charge $15 for subs or battlepass, I don't mind throwing them a bone when I'm playing, When I'm waiting for content, I just don't get them.

For the weapon banners, I'd say do not pull unless you really don't want any of the characters but really want most or all of the 4 and 5* weapons and use characters that use those weapons AND those wishes wouldn't be better off on the next banner.

mostly go by playtime, since I log in daily anyway might as well get welkin, and since just playing the game makes me finish the pass 2 weeks early might as well grab that too - which in turn lets me put the resin elsewhere.
kinda the opposite to most subs where you get the subconscious feeling to "gotta play as much as possible before the monthly sub before it runs out" to the point it annoys me.

and I swear the game is fucking with me. went HAM over the holidays exploring western sumeru (10/10, although the questline becomes a bit too handholdy imo), and constantly expect to hear the guitars set in when the soundtrack in the desert starts:

btw, apparently there's some way to influence which substats on artifacts gets upgraded, anyone ever looked at it? every time gave it a try the last few days it still feels as random as before. not sure it 's some elaborate youtube/reddit bait.

It's news to me if true

I wish there was a way since I got this drop and hit 3 flat hp/2 Atk upgrades.
Sad thing is, this is still my best Pavilion piece by far. I keep getting EM Pavilion and Crit Paradise Lost sets

just curious, does anyone actually like windtrace? personally, i can't stand it. i've been putting off doing it but i'm seriously considering just going afk for the primos
It honestly depends. I don't like the map selection as much this time around and the chasm map is annoying to hunt in with the multiple z-levels massively negating the most useful hunter ability. With how the mode is balanced if the hunter is halfway competent they should win 90%+ of the time. Even then, when I play as a hider I play with a self-imposed limit and never turn into a prop and still never get into a chase for most of my games. And when I do get found, I get away from the hunter more often than not. IMO, if you're a mobile player you're probably going to get your teeth kicked in if your opponent is on a console/PC.

I don't feel the urge to replay it just for fun this time around, so either I'm burned out on it or I feel this is the least entertaining run of it.

This is also the third time they've used this exact same minigame. The appeal is mostly gone - I played it for the Primo's and haven't touched it otherwise.

The most entertaining thing about it is getting random Russian players who all just sit at a table and talk in the Chat.

Had to finally complete Kazuha's and Ayato's story quests to be allowed to start the new intermission archon quest. That was a slog. I'd been putting them off forever because everything about Inazuma's clans bores me to tears. It made me think of something that probably no one else cares about, namely that we're probably about halfway through the game's main narrative at this point, and character quests from Version 1.0 are still stuck on "To be continued..." after clearly being called "Chapter 1."

I realize that the people keeping the lights on at Mihoyo are the ones who care only about big numbers on Abyss floor 12, and they don't care about character quests, especially not for off-meta characters like Amber and Lisa. I'm the opposite, though, I hate the Abyss and like the story quests. The game has decent writing when it's not about the tedious inter-clan melodrama of feudal Japan. Venti's character quest in particular was unexpectedly touching. I want to see more permanent, non-event story content with Amber, Diluc, and poor Qiqi, who hasn't even gotten her own quest yet despite being released in Version 1.0. Am I alone in my insanity?

Windtrace isn't fun. It's like five minutes of loading screens and setup for one minute of hiding as a bucket until the hunter inevitably finds me. I didn't even bother with it this time. It's not even worth the Primos to me. I'd rather just watch a bunch of YouTubers play Prop Hunt.

My rating for your wish of more story quests for those characters: :optimistic::optimistic::optimistic:

I've only start Genshin around 3 months ago, still I doubt they will add any more story quests related to old characters at this point.
But apparently to leak, Lisa's alternate outfit is coming, so I guess you probably have a bit more story for her? Just like with Fischl?

If I'm being honest, I actually don't have that much interest in characters story quests. Most of them are kinda bland or okayish at most imo, the ones that I find interesting or touching are Venti, Ayato, Yae and a bit of Tighnari. Cyno and Nilou are just too close on whole parent-child love, doing these two back to back probably didn't help for me.
Not sure if there will be Nahida story part 2, since well there two parts for both Zhongli and Ei.

Although, I definitely can appreciate story quests more than side world quests being "EPIC TETRALOGY LONG SAGA" with no voice acting, lackluster (or zero) facial animation and no appropriate bgm during talking scene. I seriously don't understand how people enjoy Aranananananana and Jeht-Jebrael quest line that much.
Oh boy, I sure love please come back again next day quests. Why did they even start doing this from Inazuma?

I got the Primo's and dipped. Need to do Abyss and the next event, pray to get Shogun and then decide if I'm going into content wait mode or not.

Since I already failed the last time I complained about Parties, I'll ask before complaining:

Is there a way to not have to switch between the gadgets everytime you encounter something that requires a gadget? Let's say you're like me and prefer to have the seed thing with you, but then you run around sumeru and need the harp thing. Instead of just having a button to "use thing you have and need" I have to go in my inventory and switch and go back.

And I find that incredibly gay, lame and annoying. Or am I stupid again?

Especially considering there are other gadgets you might want to have on or that they'll probably add gadgets in new regions.

Also, while I'm at it: I want them to add the Zoom things they have in sumeru in all the other regions. Movement is drastically better in Sumeru. Can't be that hard to have an intern go over the older regions and put them everywhere.

Windtrace: The last time I kinda enjoyed windtrace but by that point I was still a "cute newbie" and entertained by all things genshin. I still have to do them this time, I actually didn't have time yet...

for me it's not windtrace itself, but prop hunt in general. it's not I dislike it, but I rather play it with some mates getting wasted than randoms.

most stuff that that needs extra gadgets is one-time only, once activated it stays that way. so once you 100% a map you'll most of the time run around with the seed box. it's also a nightmare of your own making, you can only hold 20 seeds per plant, and on top of that none of the seeds in sumeru are really worth anything or useful (and on top of THAT most are multi-fruit plants, so if you plant them in your pot you get like four times the fruits from a single seed). just grab your 20 and forget about it, that's how I deal with it at least.

as for the zoom things, as practical as they are, they look kinda off aesthetically in the landscape and feel like they're literally everywhere. the older zones work fine without it because they're mostly flat or have sensible spots for waypoints.
tbh it feels mihoyo doesn't really give a shit any more AND caters way too hard to casuals that whine they need to sprint for 10 seconds. sumeru is cluttered in waypoints you only use once for a single side mission, who and why put them there? worse, they gave us a temporary waypoint for exactly this fucking reason over two years ago in version 1.1, plenty of time to get mondstadt reputation to level 6.
hills and stuff are designed in a way they are annoying to climb (especially the desert), but even if you manage it there's a zoom thing; great, so all I had to do is run around the hill to see it, which means that's all you gonna do from now on instead of climbing stuff because you're curious and wondering if there's anything up there.

they're also a bit annoying to use, one wrong keypress and you do a plunge. the ones in inazuma didn't really have that issue while being more sensibly (and sparingly) placed.

it's only bad if you let them pile up. each patch has usually 1 character quest for the new character and 1-2 quests for the overall story - 6 weeks to do like 5-6 hours of mostly reading. while they can be annoying (still haven't done nahida's quest or the latest archon myself, plus half the hangouts), the game expects you to do them at some point.
it's also "old" content from inazuma, of course with sumeru being the current cool new thing they can feel a bit disjointed. back when they came out they were part of the bigger overall story (especially when you consider how lackluster the later half of inazuma's main story was), so it wasn't as bad.

to be continued is just message that the current quest is over, which they put under every quest (even event quests). doesn't mean that specific character/story will continue at some point.

the other problem is the stories are also supposed to sell you the (current) character. the original 5* don't have a dedicated event banner (even the keqing one was more desperate filler), and the 4* you get for free. so anyone who sees those characters either already has them or never will unless he whales 1.0 style or plays for years.
doesn't mean they don't get some story, for example mona had hers in 1.1, diluc had basically his own event in 2.8 (with a bit of kaeya lore sprinkled in, given their connection), keqing & xianling - and especially gouba - were part of the flagship event in 2.1:
also spotted a polearm character in the cutscene, wonder if that's a new char they teased like yunjin and people forgot about

they're also used where it somewhat makes sense (unless it's kazuha which feels gets inserted everywhere, although his intro was only a filler event quest), like with kaeya and diluc. for example mika was already shown, so we know he comes at some point. being part of eula's company means he will most likely show up when she does (coincidentally when her banner re-runs). since she's friends with amber she will probably make an appearance (and prolly more when we ever go north of mondstadt following varka's expedition). qiqi is kinda baizhu's adopted daughter, so I'd assume she will make an appearance when he gets his banner in 3.6 or whenever. plus whatever mihoyo has cooked up for this years latern festival which has always a liyue-focus (we didn't even get windblume last year, reeeee).
and it's still more than what faruzan got so far - although they might pull another xinyan, who most people forgot about and then appeared for like 3 events straight.

lisa getting an outfit might be an indicator she's involved next patch (which is either lantern rite, or one after that) since ayaka's outfit apparently got leaked, and there's always a free 4* one and the 5* outfit discounted from the shop during the patch the character appears in.

Nope, there's no quick way of swapping gadgets. At every single survey, when they ask for additional feedback I always mention that it would be so fucking handy to have a gadget hotwheel, because switching between the seedbox, the lyre, the kusava seed (although briefly used), the red feather fan, lumenstone adjuvant and the various compasses is the fucking worst. There's too many goddamn gadgets.

They need to add a gadget wheel, and compress all the compasses together (make it so when you build a one for a new region, it just upgrades your compass to search that region).

Got my shogun, had the materials to get her to 80/80 1/8/1 with 960 em

Little bit more farming for handguards and thwacking the bat 3 more times and I can hit 90/90 1/8/8

Quit the game after pulling Yelan during her debut, came back due to the free pulls and got Raiden + Engulfing Lightning in 20 pulls total, think the game wants me to use her

how often do you change the compass tho? if you keep up with the release at some point you have 100% an area and move on from there. same with all the region-specific gadgets like the chasm stone (which you actually don't want equipped all the time for a certain achievement) etc.

point is I hardly switch stuff anymore, either because there's no need to or I can't be arsed. would say mihoyo is also aware of it, the that one fishing-pole gadget can be used without equipping it, I'd assume stuff like that will work the same in the future.

tbh there's worse shit they should fix first, like letting me turn artifacts into exp directly from the reward screen. having to remember and then find that one fucking trash artifact in a list of 1400+ is a pain in the ass AFTER EVERY BOSS AND DOMAIN.
