My first reaction was actually to try to log in myself, not check social media/Hoyolab. Since I logged in fine on my PC, only afterwards did I go to the official channels to confirm what I suspected.

Thoma should be with Hu Tao. You could, but Childe is weird and not really enjoyable to play with low investment. You don't need C1 for Hu Tao, but C1 is a lot less of pain to play as C0 you need to animation cancel constantly (C1 meaning 2 copies). Optimally no, unless you have enough to go for C1 Hu Tao but it should be fine to get either.
You can get books/weapon ascension materials now but you'll hit like shit until you can farm artifacts. You're leveling talents and weapons? You can keep that team until you get 5*s and it will work fine for most/all content. You don't have any real main DPS characters built (characters which can stay on the field and do damage easily), and you don't have the artifacts to be able to cycle through your team while using abilities which will be fixed with usually 5* characters and farming artifacts.
You don't want Def % or HP % artifacts on most of your characters except those who scale on those stats like Noelle, or Barbara if you ever use her (which is a mistake people coming from other games sometimes make).
Optimally, you have Xiangling who is great, Sucrose/Beidou are good but you might replace later, and the rest you can use if you like their abilities. There's a budget team of Xiangling/Sucrose/Chongyun/Xingqiu which was popular for f2p players.

Um ACKTUALLY
its Xiangling/Bennet/Xingqiu as the core and then chong/suc/whatever as the flex slot (original team had chongyun, but now people prefer Raiden or Sucrose/Kazuha. I still am biased towards Chongyun since I just like the character)The reason Bennet is apart of the core is to increase Xiangling's attack since you're going to be stacking so much ER on her. Also his tap E (the swipe) generates a shitton of particles at once which is great for topping up her burst energy. And when you do her burst in his field it snapshots for the entire duration

That explains the 100k Mora that was instantly used - that “Event” took literally 30 seconds, I honestly forgot about it entirely.

Here are some reasons why anyone would play Barbara, and it's totally justified:
* She's cute.
* Noelle's playstyle isn't their cup of tea.
* They have other better healers.
* They have a good claymore but would rather give it to another character than Noelle.
* Barb's playstyle is a total 'no thoughts head empty' sort of thing where you just pump her with lots of HP and ER, give her Thrilling Tales or Sac Fragments, then never worry about your team's health.

Ayaka's "10% free chance of double weapon acescion crafts" is so good. It almost never works but when it does it's great.

you can also bring her in coop if you just want to slack off (or depending on domain if you need hydro), can heal active and passively, millelith works on her (on top the stamina reduction) and she's voiced in japanese by akari kito

I'm usually not on-top of leaks because there's just so many fucking sources to follow + they come in a never ending stream of info, but apparently there have been some potential 2.3 and beyond leaks. The most interesting one though is regarding Shenhe, some super pixelated blurry images, a weapon leak, and a kit leak on her came out that shows her as a physical polearm DPS. Potentially coming in 2.3 or 2.4, and Albedo in 2.3 along with some Dragonspine event.
Personally a little disappointed that she overlaps with Eula so hard, I've been waiting a long time for her. Still rolling if the leaks are true though.

Eula's "10%" feels more like 2% sometimes, I get much luckier with Ayaka's passive.

according to a tweet, the shenhe leak might be a fake.
tbh, i hope it's true, because she has a really nice design.
(i kinda was hoping to see some leaks of itto, as leaks say he might come with 2.3 (or it was 2.4?))

Yeah the more I look into it the more it looks mega fake. Guy has no history of leaks plus the images are just ridiculously low res and blurry. like you can probably count the pixels.
I'm just desperate for any Shenhe hopium
edit: also got bored and finally started building DPS Noelle. I wasn't planning on it before, but when her hangout came out many patches ago I remembered how fun she was even though she rivals Diluc in unga bunga levels (which is fine by me kek)
Getting a Bolide circlet was a fucking nightmare so I just broke and went with 4 piece Glad. At least that way I can do damage without having her shield up. She's only C2 right now, R5 Whiteblind and her talents are like 5/4/5 or something but I was able to get some 10k hits out with geo resonance + Ning's Jade Screen. Can't wait till she's maxxed out and I have Albedo to pair with her.

didn't she have chibi model in the background during the event closing movie? I think there were 1-2 new chars teased.
as for deeps nölle, iirc dps greatsword still scales better (least it does on xinyan), and why not 2 glad 2 petra till you get 4pc bolide and c6?

At C6 (which is what I'm aiming for) she scales way more off of DEF than ATK. I'm assuming DEF is still better before then. I haven't done the research but just off of quick maths checking honeyhunter, DEF still might be better? My Noelle already has 2400 DEF, and she gets about a 70% DEF -> ATK buff at burst level 9. Anyway I'm in it for the long haul so even if I'm wrong on that I'm just planning around having her at C6
And the reason for 4glad over 2petra, the 4glad effect is just that good on her. Just straight up gives you 35% bonus damage on your normal attacks. And since her burst-buffed attacks still count as normal attacks its a big buff to her. For DPS Noelle you pretty much want to go either 4bolide or 4glad. SS is her BiS 4* but I just wanted to use whiteblind on her for my own reasons. If she's not shitting out enough damage I'll switch over to my p2w R3 Serpent Spine.
As for Bolide I've just sunk too much into the geo domain at this point, I can't bring myself to waste more resin on it kek
Xinyan probably prefers regular ATK claymores just because her only DEF scaling outside her shield is on her charged attacks, and thats at C6. And thats pretty much the problem I've always had with Xinyan, awful split scaling, and when she does get DEF scaling its on her fucking charged attack.

If those 4*s sound familiar it's because they're the exact same from Ayaka's banner lol. I got c1 ning c0 xong and c2 yanfei from Ayaka's banner but i never trained any of them. Hmmm Childe is cool and this banner is cool but i guess it aint for me again, at least for now. Unless i get sold me on those 4*s, gonna wait for leaks and next banner to see.
BTW they didnt put Barbara NOR noele on childe's banner! This means there is a legit real chance hu tao's banner is thoma/barbara/noelle so be prepared for it.
