This game might leak like a thimble, but I’d imagine that the devs are getting sick of that and trying to patch said leaks.

That and I’m moderately surprised they haven’t thrown lawyers at the leakers - yeah, I know, long shot, but there might be an argument that the leaks are hurting their bottom line, and people are retarded enough that I could see that going through…

1-People were expecting Bennet 2.0. She was not bennet 2.0.

2-She is janky as fuck. Like, her backdash doesnt work half the time and her optimal playstyle is literally "teleport -> shoot your own foot -> switch" until you get c2 which then becomes "teleport -> switch -> snap burst -> switch back -> shoot own foot -> switch".

She's still the only non bennet atk buffer so she has a few niche uses, which is being Raiden's cheerleader, but she's not worth the awkwardness to play, unless you actually love that kinda of playstyle. From what i see, even some of her fans dont like playing her.

At least you see people picking Sara to give Raiden big damage per screenshot, i never see anybody talk about Sayu. I blame that on people dont knowing how to build her since she is an ATK/EM split scaling healer but unlike others, you actually want to be hybrid, especially at C6.

In other news, the guy who manages the leak translation discord is saying the next banners will be Albedo+gorou and Ittou

View attachment 2595505

Be aware, this is the guy who said 2.2 would be Ganyu and Yae so a bunch of people hate him right now.
I got excited when I saw this leak, but Ive ALSO since learned he said there was going to be a livestream on the 28th for the anniversary so...
I think hes gotten stuff right before though. Really would like both bedo and ganyu. Im at like 150 rolls saved up now

They have, and massive fines for the Chinese leakers, not sure what happened with those.

Supposedly the weapon banners are Polar Star/Summit Shaper and Homa/Skyward Harp.

To be fair, Ubatcha is more of a translator/middle man than leaker so if they get wrong info they'll share wrong info, and considering the 2.3 beta didnt even start yet, i cant take those seriously for now. The only leaks i recommend listening at all are proven datamines and beta video footage, anything else is rumors at best and guesses at worst.

It seems i have 81 + 22 fates saved so i might roll for childe. If it's fishl + sayu then i'm down for it but if it's noele + barbara then... well not this time childo.

Either way, i finally got an EM VV artifact and it's sands with actually good stats! Also this bizarrely amazing milelith flower that i'm letting Fishl hold until i get albedo years later.

(viridecent venerer was translated to "green shadow" lol)

Yes, it could be better but i'll take it. If anyone wants to grind sayu i'll warn you already that she's a lot fucking worse than bennet but she's not a dead weight.

She's pointless if you have Jean but otherwise she brings VV shread, healing and claymore coverage which is good for a 4*. Her real weakness is energy issues (low gen high burst), high effort to build, mediocre dmg/heals and being an anemo support with zero CC so you'll probably rather use anyone else.

I'm of the opinion that you don't build Sayu for Healing/damage/shred or anything related to combat. You just get Sayu so you can use her skill to zoom around the map at a cost of 0 stamina.

From my experience, she's not that fast either. You dont use stamina but dont recover either and she get stuck on uneven terrain and wont drop from ledges. I've heard many mobile players rolled her just for her passive that makes catching cristal flies easy. Also helps with eels who are hard to see from far.

I'm being harsh but i'm saying this cause i think Sayu deserves better. All new characters after Ayaka keep getting hate but Sayu was easily the "best designed" out of them. Her core gameplay makes sense. She's a split scaling character who can be built either way isntead of being cucked. She's balanced, with logical strenghts and weaknesses. She is functional even if she isnt meta.

Sayu isnt like yoimiya who barely works, raiden who has a messy kit or Sara/kokomi who only do 1 single thing in a janky way, she an original and well designed character who clearly took a lot of effort to make but everyone either sees her as a meme loli or worthless cause bennet exists.

Everyone loves Thoma but he's looking to be the most boring shield bot who wont match xingling anyway so people will forget him fast. Everyone wants "the next bennet" but this game needs more 4*s like Sayu.

Its actually insane. I've never had a character that I use this much thats also this underbuilt. I still have her at level 40 with a throwaway lvl 80 archaic and 1/1/1 talents but I use her all the time in the overworld. She is actually like 4 QoL features in one character, it's great.

She's slightly faster than Mona/Ayaka but yeah its not going to blow you away. And yeah she does get stuck a lot. Its easier to get her unstuck compared to Mona/Ayaka but its still annoying as fuck when you're on terrain with lots of knicks and edges

Never thought about it but yeah very true. I think at C6 you might want to aim for a pure EM build, but before that ATK and EM are both equally valid options.

I'm disappointed in that everyone was like "WOW YOU CAN PAIR HER WITH XIANGLING/KAEYA AND GO TO TOWN" when she first came out, but I've yet to see any crazy damage/abyss showcases where she just destroys everything with kaeya and xianglings bursts active.

Her C6 actually rewards playing hybrid the most. You dont get atk% from EM, you get "0.2% atk as turret dmg for every 1 point of EM". This means 200 EM becomes +40% atk as extra dmg, so you want some at least 1 atk% gear (+300 atk) to get more value from your EM.

Unrelated but i'll mention sayu also has bizarrely good stats for a 4*. She near identical to Razor despite being a healer. For comparison, bennet has low atk while barbruh and diona have low everything. She also gets EM on ascension instead of the lame 24% atk most 4*s get. For extra comparison, Sara has awful stats and thoma's has much lower hp/atk (hp% shielder with bad hp? At least diona also heals) and both get atk%.

But it's not like sayu is broken or anything. It's obvious the devs wanted her to be a balanced and flexible unit in general.

I've seen "death ball" attempts and it's not that broken on practice. Kaeyea either doesnt freeze fast enough or he melts. If sayu spins ice she's not shredding pyro and if she spins pyro she's stealing melts. Sayu can also die while spinning so ideally you want a shielder but you need bennet to snapshot XL. If someone makes it work, it's more on XL+bennet carrying.

From my testing, i think the "optimal" way to use Sayu is hold a bit and kick. The spin itself does very low damage and only swirls every 2 seconds but each swirl gives 1 particle. Her hold kick is also much stronger than tap kick (actually stronger than sucrose skill). In other words:

tap: faster but less dmg and no spin
hold-> swirl once -> kick = 3 particles, double swirl, more damage, half a second longer
hold and keep rolling = more anemo particles and skill heals but takes too much field time doing low dmg

(this means her energy regen isnt actually that bad, it's just not enough)

Wait, i realize now that Sayu is basically ground Kazuha. She swirls once to absorb an element and then hits back with it. Hmm i wonder if she can shred 2 elements at once like him? She doesnt have his "priority rules" so probably not. But if she can then people are sleeping on that.

So a friend got me into this weeb bullshit not too long ago, and I have to say while its fun I have no god damn clue what I am doing, I'm a bit fuzzy on how to build a team with the characters I have. Most guides are just telling how to make super high dps big-peepee teams assuming you have all the right characters, which is well and good, but I need to put together something viable with the harem I can work with now.
I got in at the tail end of the last banner so I was able to snag a few characters before being told to not spend shit on the current fishwoman banner. Mostly I've just been tossing resources into characters I like (Xiangling, Chongyun, Fischl, Noelle) and I've been making do so far, I want to make sure I am using my resources (which I've been a bit stingy with) building up a team to drag my baby ass through the game and get to the point I can actually start farming artifacts and the like (Especially as my world level is going up).
I know I'm not doing something right as sometimes combat goes ok, but often I feel like I'm flailing around wacking mobs with a pool noodle and getting my ass handed to me until abilities come back and I can go back to doing damage again.
(Those characters not counting the free unlocks being Xiangling, Chongyun, Fischl, Noelle, Sucrose, and Beidou). I'm just not sure what my dumb ass should be focusing on.

The other thing I am wondering: as a new player should I invest some rolls into the childe/hu tao banner or wait even longer for the Thoma banner? I was told to save everything as Drifting Luminescence was "god damn garbage" and all the free fates and primos i've been sitting on are burning a hole in my pocket.

If you've played enough you should have literally all the characters you need to play the game. You should more or less focus on building up stats of characters you have/like to play as. The blue flower orb challenge things dispense level up books but you can only do so much within a day if you grind for those or other things. Best strategy for grinding the things you want is pick a thing and just go to town gathering shit in once or twice a day. I have literally never looked at any guides and just gone with whats effective for me. Everyone went on and on about how shit Amber was but for a good while she was my only useful archer because I fucking loaded her with crit and attack shit. I use fischl now when I need an archer because of the fact it became slightly too expensive to rank amber up further with the items I had. Certain character's special attacks do variable extra damage depending on shit like health attack or crit rate, on top of being leveled up using books from domain challenges. What you want to focus on gameplay wise in terms of enemy combat is is elemental weaknesses and elemental reactions. Overloaded is fucking great as it works on almost any enemy and it's my personal favorite due to that. people say electro is shit but it has certain gimmicks to it that when used correctly it just kills everything faster than any other element somehow. My guess is everybody out there's following the same "guides" to shit as each other. Hydro is a valuable element to have SOLELY because of the fucking pain in the ass shielded fire enemies. For context, most other sheilded enemies can have their shield killed by multiple elements, but somehow the fire ones, specifically shit like the fatui skirmishers and the hypostasis, ONLY REACT TO HYDRO FOR SOME DUMB FUCKING REASON. The only hydros I have are either too weak or not fun to play as, and the hydro healers for some stupid reason afflict the people being healed with hydro which causes YOU to take more damage if you get hit with other elements. Due to this I barely use the hydro guys and mainly just keep qiqi, ironically the FIRST FUCKING CHARACTER I ROLLED, on the party at all times. Cryo and electro effect pyro enemies that aren't the fucking shielded bitches.

This was really fucking unintentionally rambly heap of text and a bit of tangents are inside but hopefully it should help.
EDIT: also if you see like stat boost shit on the artifacts you like make sure to level them up by feeding them with artifacts you don't like.

Of the characters you listed, Xiangling, Beidou, Fischl, and Sucrose are all really good. Chongyun is really situational and it's usually best to only use him if you have a plan for him (like a melt team with Xiangling). Noelle is really only good if you get her constellations and build a team around getting her lots of energy, because she doesn't really generate much herself but relies a lot on her burst. Also, of the free characters, Kaeya is actually really good, and Barbara is a solid healer at any level. All that said, play who you like the most and don't worry about meta teams unless you want to try-hard the spiral abyss.

To build a character, aside from actually levelling them up, they also need talents levelled. Most characters have at least one talent that doesn't get used much, meaning you don't need to spend resources levelling it up. You also need to put some artifacts on them. Artifact hunting is a late game worry, so for now the most general advice is match your goblet with the damage type that character does (electro damage bonus on Fischl, etc) and don't put on any timepieces/goblets/helmets with a def or hp main stat unless you're building a healer who needs it (Noelle, Barbara).

For team comp, you'll generally want an on-field "main dps" who is the one you use most of the time and attack with normal attacks. Xiangling, Beidou, and Kaeya would fit this role really well. These are the only characters you need to level the normal attack talent much on, and you only need one.

Then you have supports. That's a really broad term, but it pretty much means they get on field, cast their skill and/or burst, and get out. The best damage supports do damage after they leave the field, like Fischl's bird or Beidou's burst. There are also buffing supports and healers. Barbara with the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers weapon is good at both of those roles.

If I had to build a team with what you have, I would go with Xiangling with crescent pike (craftable spear), Barbara with Thrilling Tales (3 star weapon), Fischl, and your choice of either Beidou, Kaeya, and Sucrose. If you want more details about recommended roles/weapons/artifact sets, check out paimon.moe or the guide where all its info comes from, which is less pretty but more compact.

No one really brings this up enough, but you can also look at your weapons too. A weapon's effects (in their description) might sound cool but you should consider their substats as well to see if it will really benefit your character. Something like the craftable Prototype Archaic or even the new fish claymore, with their ATK% substat, is good on a main DPS such as Diluc.
And consider what your character does the most on the field. If their main damage output is their burst, give them a weapon with an Energy Recharge bonus (i.e. the Catch for Xiangling or Raiden). Sacrificial weapons are perfect on characters who should spam their E like Xingqiu.
Weapons are a no-brainer to get the hang of because you only need to watch out for their stats and effects, and you just then worry about refining them.

Just coming in as well to remind you that as long as you are having fun, you are doing things right. If you like a character, by all means, invest some ressources into him. I had Kaeya in my team until world level 52 or something, just because I liked his lore and design.

The game has some difficulty spikes here and there, true, but most of the time you can get through anything even with a standard/F2P team comp.

From my personal experience most "beginner guides" in genshin were 95% useless since they're made by players who dont actually get the struggles of beginner/casual players. Some stuff is universally good like "dont use fragile resin before ar45" while others are memey at best and it's not going to land because people wont absorb all the information at once.

For starters, what is your AR and world level? The higher you rise, the more you're forced to grind gear, farm stuff and level characters in order to keep up with enemies. I'd say it's something like:

WL0-2: This is basically tutorial, as long as you're not underleveled and naked you should survive fine.

WL3 (ar30): At this point you actually need to be geared up, which is why you unlock the second to last weapon drop domains. Have your characters wear 3-4* artifacts and leveled weapons.

WL4 (AR35): This is the part where you actually need to be geared up and playing right. Like, all artifacts at 8+ and at least an attempt of an optimal team comp. I recommend using exile/berserker/sojourney hybrids since those are common chest drops with strong 2pc effects.

WL5 (AR40): BIG difficulty spike cause bosses are now lvl 70 which takes a lot more effort to reach. This unlocks the final weapon mat dungeon, the best leyline rewards, bosses might drop 5* arts and lvl 60+ enemies might drop t3 mats. There is a reaIt starts hard so you gotta work harder to keep up. This is the first time you can drop your world level but dont do that cause you need those better drops.

WL6( ar45) Another BIG spike. This is the rank you unlock the final talent book and artifact domains so you're officially at the "endgame" now. By this point your whole team should be at least lvl 70 chars, weapons 70, 4+ talent and start farming artifacts.

WL7 (ar50) Not that big of a spike if you prepared but by this point you should DEFINITELY have at least 4 fully optimized characters if you want to get anything done.

The real challenge in this game isnt really the combat but actually managing your time and resources among your cast so they're strong enough for it. Like, you gotta a person willing to:

-open online maps to learn where the hell you find stuff like violetgrass
-save condensed resin to spend it on that book domain 2 days later
-hunt enemies for 15 minutes to upgrade a bow
-do daily artifact/ore routes
-farm resources you dont even need just because you might need later
-stare at hundreds of icons for hours trying to mentally calculate the biggest number you can achieve
-have enough willpower to save your gems

You dont need to tryhard sweat or play 8 hours per day but you need to know what you're doing while also not thinking too much about it. Dont worry about "wasting resources" or "leveling a thrash character", at worst you just have to do it again which is fine as long as you're having fun. Like, if you think you're too weak then it's because you cant keep up with your world level, but if you're at a hard world level, then you should get stronger much faster.

Some safe tips i'll give are:

-Level difference between you and enemy affects the final damage and stagger. Make sure your main damage dealer is always the highest level you can have.
-Have a few characters who are easy to farm mats. Xiangling for example, uses slimes, pepper and regisvines which are abundant and easy. Yanfei on the other hand uses primo geovishap drops, which i see many casuals struggle with.
-Leveling weapons is a pretty safe choice unless they're straight up bad. You can always pass them to someone else so there is no waste of investment.
-You dont need to follow the meta but the more you know the more value from all your characters. Even something simple as always bringing a noblese user matters.

Thoma was already confirmed to be coming with hutao. Anyways i'll say what i say to everyone:

1-ONLY roll on the limited banner if you want the 5* OR you dont mind getting them.
2-If you dont have any 5*, please try to have your first 5* be someone who can make your daily life MUCH easier, like a solo carry dps (xiao), a god tier support (zongli, venti) or an op character that does everything (ganyu, kazuha).
3-If you're an F2P player, realize how long it takes to stack 90 fates so think very carefully about this.

Do you have any 5* characters or weapons yet? Out of childe or hu tao, i'd say you should wait for the 4* and see what you think gives the most value. Childe is water which is rare, can be played in many comps and excels against enemy clusters but is more of an enabler than dps, Hu tao is a top tier unit but there are other pyro 5*s and her charge atk spam can be boring.

Early game, I'd focus more on coverage than optimization, so the first thing I'd recommend is looking at your current roster and pick one character for each of the six elements that you gravitate towards gameplay wise or aesthetically. Once you have your characters, designate one as your main DPS and feel free to pour your resources into this character as you see fit. This is the character that is going to get the most field time, so you want them to hit the hardest while having enough HP to surive enemy attacks. So, it's generally okay to level up your main DPS, give them your best weapon, and level up any of their talents.

Next, two characters are going to be your sub DPS. The general flow of the game is that you want to set up your sub DPS skill/burst before switching to your main DPS to wail on enemies while the skill/burst is going off. An ideal sub DPS then is someone who can jump in, set-up, and get out without eating up too much time, so your main DPS can go to town while the set-up is still active. For these characters, they can lag a little in terms of levels and you shouldn't put any resources into their normal attacks because they flat out won't use them. You can keep their weapons leveled up if you have spare resources though.

Last is your healer, which is mostly self-explanatory. The only thing of note is that from the healers you have, Barbara is good because she provides a lot of passive healing, while Noelle is much more active so she can actually be a healer and your main DPS, if you want to play that way. If you only want them to heal though, just level them up to the point that they can bail you out if need be, but don't sink too much into them. Healers are actually very functional at low investment if they're built right.

Using the character you listed as an example, a potential team comp you could run is Chongyun (Main), Xiangling (Sub), Fischl (Sub), and Noelle (Healer) and focus on creating a lot of elemental reactions in Chongyun's ice field, only switching to Noelle when you need healing. The only issue is you might want to put a bit of resources into Barbara if you run into some enemies with Pyro shields, but you just need her to sustain herself enough to break the shield.

As a last note, if you're still feeling pressure from some of the DPS checks, artifacts can be built early, just be mindful of some things:
-Any artifact is better than no artifact, so try and fill all of your available slots even if you don't intend to level up that artifact. If you can complete a set bonus, even better.
-Flower and feather are always the same main stat (HP and ATK), so if you're struggling defensively or offensively, those are safe bets to level up.
-Sands main stats can be ATK%, Energy Recharge%, Elemental Mastery, DEF%, or HP%. ATK% is always good on any of your DPS. ER can be good for a character with a high burst cost. (You can find this out in the talent detail. Anyone with an 80 cost burst could benefit from an ER Sands.) EM is only really good for Anemo characters as a general recommendation right now, so unless you're going for a very specific team comp, don't build EM artifacts. For what's available to you, DEF is only good for Noelle and HP is only good for Barbara to increase their healing.
-Goblet is both tricky and flexible, so play it by ear. Goblet can be ATK%, EM, DEF%, HP%, Elemental Damage%, or Physical Damage%. Matching Elemental Damage is preferred, but ATK% is fine. Physical Damage can work on your main DPS unless they have a skill that infuses their normal attacks with an element.
-Circlet comes in ATK%, Crit Rate%, Crit Damage%, HP%, DEF%, or Healing Bonus%. Anything crit related is godly in Genshin, but it's mostly for optimization, so ATK% is still fine to have. Healing Bonus% is good for your healer, but is far from necessary.

You can pull either Childe or Hu Tao if you like them, they're both very good units. In general, Childe fits in a lot more team comps than Hu Tao, but Hu Tao is one of the highest damage dealers in the game when her team is dedicated to maximizing her potential. Both are dedicated main DPS, so choose whoever fits your style more. Thoma is also going to be on Hu Tao's banner, so if you pull for her, you could get Thoma as well.

And in speaking of saving up gems for characters/weapons you want to pull for, the Spiral Abyss is honestly a pretty good place to get them from. Most players hate it, but you should make an effort to clear at least the first eight floors (which are completely doable when you follow the tips people posted above).

My F2P account didn't start out strong but I've fully built 6 characters to lvl70 (my Raiden is at lvl80) and I was honestly surprised how strong they were just because of specific small decisions (i.e. being picky of which artifacts to keep and which to trash, focusing on leveling up only two characters in a week).

The Abyss was made to be, and is still, the most endgame of endgame content in Genshin, but it's a blast to complete when you surprise yourself getting 9 stars with a half-baked team.

Anyone else having issues trying to get Genshin open? Keeps giving me some shit about “Third-Party account not registered” - have a Mihoyo account linked to my system, and the PS5 is really the only thing I play GI from (phone is potato).

Mostly curious if shit’s down, or if I need to deal with the hell that is Customer Service…

It's a PlayStation only issue; notice was just posted.

Due to an issue with PlayStation™Network services, some Travelers have been unable to log into the game normally.

We will promptly notify Travelers via in-game notice and community channels once services have been restored. Please stay tuned to our official channels for the latest information regarding these issues.

Yeah I think at least getting 6-stars on 11 and 3 stars on 12 (and 9/9 on 9 and 10) is really fucking easy. By doing that you're getting like 900 extra primos a month
They literally handed every player Xiangling + her BiS weapon on a silver platter, its super doable.
Not even talking about going full sweatlord and going for full stars, just coast through abyss resets and you get a nice handful of extra primos (as well as a bunch of mora + handful of glad/WT pieces)
