These character trailers have gotten so good. I rewatch Columbina's trailer fairly often still. I might be biased by already liking the world and characters themselves but I feel like these are pretty kino standalone vignettes without any context.
80+ is painful tho, both for operators and weapons. and don't even remind me of the fucking genshin crowns you need 24 or so to fully cap off a char (it was bs in genshin, and it's bs here. hopefully they drop more of those instead "lol 2 per patch"
it's fine for a 1.0 version, those are usually months if not years old. we have to wait and see how the next 3-6 months develop.

Here's my strategy: Buy a separate hard drive, download Genshin to there, play Milliastra Wonderland, create awesome game(s), make sure those games are well liked, enter the creator's program, earn some motherfucking moolah.
The first past of your post is kind of true, Mihoyo has been pandering to this type of audience for a long while, more than most nu-gacha players known, doesn't help that most people who whale are leaning towards this "type", there's the reason why they don't do such things (like giving relationships to characters).
