I was thinking recently about giving Wuwa a try. Do kiwis here like it more than Genshin and other gacha slop? Because recently I hear nothing but praise when it comes to this title.

I've been enjoying it. When I played at launch it was really rough, but since I came back in 2.0 they have done nothing but address complaints and make the game better. My only complaint right now is Echo leveling is awful. You can't use unleveled echos to help level new and better pieces, only XP tubes. Then you can't reveal substats without another leveling material. Add in 10 different substats (Attack, Defense, HP, Basic Attack, Heavy Attack, Skill Damage, Ultimate Damage, Energy Recharge, Crit Rate, Crit Damage) with RNG ranges and getting good pieces is annoying.

The story starts kinda rough, but once you get past the first area the writing improves significantly. Plus you can skip the story if you aren't enjoying it.

Well, I played Genshin for about a month, and I've been playing WuWa since release. That should say what you need to know.
The event aspect of Genshin is absolute hell for a new player and don't even get me started with the characters. Imagine being a newbie now, getting Mavuika and the game basically tells you to fuck off for not being here earlier. I feel that it's easier with Wuwa, because exploration is better and you can skip cutscenes.

I wonder how much my 3 year old abandoned account is in terms of meta. I wouldn't be surprised if it's entirely shit due to power creep.

So instead of trying to get Evelyn's W-engine, I tried to get Qingyi. I had no expectations of winning four 50/50s in a row but I wasn't expecting to get a guarantee on 2 fucking pity.

Jesus Christ. Maybe RNG pitied me for forcing wolf bitch on me during my Burnice run.

Well, I'm not complaining. If anything Ben finally has a reason to do something for me other than managing my store.

Now, I might as well get that damn W-engine.

In many ways it's just like Genshin. Some nice music, lots to explore with occasional puzzles but the story can be very hit or miss. In particular, the story starts off very rough but improves at the first major boss (not that dickhead where you can say "Fuck it, we're fighting" instead of listening to him monologue, the One Winged Angel one). Characters have much better movement and traversal with the ability to grapple anywhere, dash midair and run up cliffs. The artifact equivalent is just as much of a pain as it is with Genshin, just in a slightly different way.

But overall, it's just somewhat more generous Genshin with combat balanced differently, same FOMO character plot events, more generous event duration and leaning more towards a scifi than fantasy aesthetic. If you like Genshin, odds are you'll like WW but if you loathe Genshin then there's a chance WW might've changed what you disliked.

You shouldn't, it's a Jewish game. Highly recommend no, don't fall for propaganda.

But at least, it doesn't encouraging weekly domestic violence like "waifu beating" in Genshin. For example, user below may not be Fatherless, but one hundred percent a waifu beater.

Then again, Genshin has been encouraging domestic violence from the start with Tartaglia. Unless, you consider gingers do not have any souls, then.....

Oi, I resemble these accusations.

Bullying Tartaglia is a national pastime. Same with bullying Sunday and throwing him under a train.
"Sunday, it's time for your weekly flattening by train!"
"Yes, Himeko."

Edit: Oh wait, it's Sunday so something that can be said in one word has to be said in thirteen paragraphs with hamfisted yet vague and pretentious biblical references.

Speaking of R1999, I don't play it but I've been meaning to ask; what is the deal with the apple wearing a tie?
In universe, there is a type of arcanist called an Awakened. Essentially, an inanimate object with enough innate arcanum to gain consciousness. APPLe is one
I'm suffering from success in Reverse. 16 pulls for this girl.
Her Euphoria fixes SO much, it's great

Edit: lost my 50/50 to Mercuria lmao

depends what you're looking for. genshin has more content if you just want a f2p BOTW with stuff to explore. also means a character roster so large you won't be able to catch-up, but none of those are mandatory. in that regard it's still more than fine.

wuwa has a lot less bullshit people got used to in genshin, which is now starting to overstay it's welcome. doesn't help that hardly any of the QoL they do in their other games get back to genshin; remember replaying events in HSR? remember hoyo "looking into" doing it for genshin? which was almost two years ago? while still dropping somewhat crucial character plotlines during events? that kind of bullshit.

it's offset by the mainstat not gated behind waveplates, you can grind 24/7 for a crit piece. this way kuro can shower you in echo chests (next to all the other ones that save waveplates). echo-xp/tubes are less of an issue with some planning, like 2-3 crappy substats aren't worth investing asf.

I haven't looked at the numbers but it feels actually leveling the important talents to 10 (which aren't gated by an event/monthly shop, only weekly bosses) is a big boost as well.

still hoping they'll turn into a timesink eventually, there's still plenty of chars to build in that case. 2.2 seems to add a mainstat selector, maybe you can feed other echoes into it this way.

Cosmograph really is talented, some of his tracks seem more like an actual single rather than a background music for a boss fight or cutscene.
kuro needs to bring back some of the PGR guys for wuwa

WuWa teased Cantarella:
>head of fisalia family
rover pacifying rinacita by turning all their leads into a harem

can't remember if it's fist or rectifier, the latter still isn't used by havoc yet.
was tempted to maybe get cardcaptor phoebe (but already got jihnzi S0R1) and gamble a bit with my changli funds, now kuro is dropping this....
