Finally got Hu Tao to level 60 and massively invested into her HP. She is fucking insane right now and I can't actually heal her properly with Barbara due to her bloated HP values. Now I need to invest in Xinqiu. What do you recommend investing in with the character? Elemental Mastery seems like the most logical thing, unless his Elemental Skill is based around other stat.
Also is the tower defence game still active?
If you play him as support, he's going to need Energy Recharge Rate, Elemental Mastery and LP if you really need the healing.

The tower defense game is unfortunately not in the game anymore as far as I know. That ended with the Liyue lantern festival event.

Sacrifical Sword is his best weapon by far, put it on him if you ever get it. Otherwise try to use other ER swords like Festering Desire or Favonius Sword
For artifacts you probably want Energy Recharge sands (until you get more ER from lvl 90 sac sword, C6, or good ER substats on your artifacts. Then you can go ATK), hydro damage on the cup, and crit rate on the hat. 2Pc Heart of Depth (the dragonspine domain) and 2 pieces of Noblesse Oblige (every god damn support uses this fucking set)
Elemental Mastery is only used to boost reaction damage. You can see the effect on your character on the stat screen:

If youre below AR45 dont worry about artifacts too much, just prioritize Energy Rechage. His skill has a huge cooldown so you want to get his burst as fast as possible.

Xingqiu isn't the one hitting the vaporizes so EM isnt THAT useful on him. Nice for the times when you do happen to hit the vapes on him while switching back to him from Hu Tao but not really necessary.

Damn that's confusing terminology. So besides Energy Recharge, do I invest in attack or %attack? Since his attack is very low, so I don't know how much I'll gain from percentage bonus as opposed to flat bonus.

Yeah it took me a while to realize what the fuck EM was. I used to think it was a buff to your elemental damage but that is actually an entirely different thing just called "(element) damage bonus"
The differece between atk% and flat atk isnt that big, plus I think he gets extra attack when ascending so that doesnt really matter

A couple of new characters got leaked/datamined yesterday. Yanfei a Pyro 4* Catalyst user and Eula a 5* Cryo Claymore user
Yanfei: https://twitter.com/lumie_lumie/status/1371899794369753095
Eula: https://twitter.com/dimbreathjr/status/1371897609347076104

Also, if you do the Chongyun quest you should just look up the route. Having to go through the dialogue through the 3 NPCs like four fucking times was so time consuming and painful.

Edit: Also the genshin twitter is crying about the leaks lol https://twitter.com/GenshinImpact/status/1372142017053003778
Lol it was mihoyo who decided to upload a complete dev build of 1.5 and the beta client to a insecure server and hoped no one noticed.

And we have this bullshit. Guard your accounts well, dear Kiwis.

from what I can gather that's just retards again re-using passwords. no wonder those brainlets scream for 2fa when they can't even handle basic bitch opsec.

flat attack is pretty shit, since it gets added at the end of the calculation. even DEF%/HP% is better just for higher suitability.
and yeah, his ATK is pretty meh, that's why most people run him as sub with sacrificial sword for reactions involving hydro.

https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Characters/Comparison

haven't looked into it that much, but from what I read EM is pretty shit too, or at least highly depends on your team where it's usually easier to just got with ATK%.
according to the wiki, reactions are calculated of the character's level and can't crit except melt/vape which work of the triggered attack (by replacing it with the reaction) and can crit - one of the reasons every other reaction is so shit compared to melt/vape. the EM calculation for vape/melt might be lower, but that doesn't really matter when you're melting shit with your usual attack, then gets multiplied by 2 and can crit on top based on your crit damage.

TLDR: math is fucked up, if not fixed by rebalancing everything with dendro in the mix enjoy your vape/melt combo for the rest of the game's lifespan.

I calced using EM sands on diluc instead of atk sands once. The difference on hitting a vaporize with his burst was only 2k, and it tanked his non vaporize damage. Only worth on sucrose and hu tao i think.

edit: also I seriously wonder if Dendro + Fire will be as broken as it is now when Dendro comes out. I think theyre going to nerf it when players apply it themselves.

I grew to like the tower defense game as well. I wish they'd kept it.

Feels good to be a geo chad
Oi, quit making me jealous!

Then again, my combo is just pretty colours flying everywhere. Diluc, Fishl, Kaeya and Albedo: I set up Albedo ring of death + Fishl bird sentry gun + Kaeya's ring of death and then just whack everything with Diluc. I guess the highest damage numbers I see are like 15k damage crits but it's funny seeing 4 different elements interacting at once for a short amount of time.

Also, how are you guys liking the event so far? Whoever is translating the game for my native language is probably having a laugh. When Venti begged Kayea for alcohol, he said "Please, please, please?" and they translated it as the equivalent of "Pwease, pwease, pwease?" I also like the decorations in Mondstadt and the event modes. It's also nice that you can do most activities in multiplayer, buuuuuuuuuuut it sucks if you want to get all the rewards for reaching enough points, because for the archery and flying challenges, you are stealing eachother's points, so you are better off doing it in solo.

I like most of the events, with the favorite one being the random maze/puzzles, second being flying. Rhythm game just brings my inner DSP out.

As for the characters, I only have Jeanne and Diluc's artifacts done. Jean as vacuum DPS is fun, trying to achieve 10k E.Skill on her.

I really wonder how the game meta will continue. The most basic course will be to just make the numbers bigger and bigger to force players to buy new characters to keep up. The harder alternative is to make the different elements more balanced in terms of ways of inflicting damage without making it constellation dependent. Like fire is still straight dps, but have air characters each hit count multiple times, have geo characters reflect damage, etc.

Also have one final time to go against Oceanid before increasing world level. Only now read you get bonus hits with fischl if you lock on *sigh* I can put couple of reasons why it's not a fun boss:
1. The hit detection is fucked, dodging is near impossible for some attacks.
2. Enemies are extremely aggressive and will not let you rest.
3. Some enemies cannot be attacked without ranged attacks.
4. The fight is random so depending on the enemies spawns it's either balls hard or really easy.

Bro your Ganyu?

If you can get Bennet and or Diona in your party for it that's a major help with 2x heal and a shield. Save at least 1 burst to I-frame through the aoe attacks if you can't dodge it (bomb or frog/bird drop I find are the main problems). Save the Frog or the Bird to kill last so you can position its death bomb somewhere you can get enough distance from to dodge, again if you can't do that I-frame through it. Anyone that applies ice easily will be a gigantic help during this fight.

My solution is to just switch to Barbara to tank the hit since her water resistance is massive and she doesn't really do anything besides healing. I have Chongyu for ice but he is so slow he actually gets attacked mid combo.

I really wish for a new character that can spawn an ice field, if it could heal or use a claymore it will be a plus...

This wind festival is kind of meh, frankly. CCP wins! I preferred the lantern festival.

you jinxed it, having to repeat that shit just for one specific challenge was already tedious, now you gotta do it 3 more times! while adding lawachurls at the end with a fucking plunge attack bonus and a timer because why not? good luck with that clusterfuck and the camera spazzing out, would be too bad if you get oneshotted by something you can't even see when they're infused - and now there are two!

when the game itself is a bigger challenge than the encounter, someone fucked up.

The rythm minigame is kinda fun but as I am shit at rhythm games I'm like on constant edge of one wrong move fucking my ass over and having to play through the whole damn thing again. Balloon minigame moves too fast for me to aim at shit properly and feels kinda tedious as a result, gliding game is piss easy but at the same time a bit too unforgiving with the score and not as fun as the gliding minigame from a few events ago. I kinda wish all the good shit they added like just kinda stayed as optional minigames but thats just how shit goes i guess.

What are even the things that are worth to get from the event? The bow seems worse than the craftable 4 star bow and other than that you can regular grind everything else.

Playable instrument once all the rhythm game stuff unlocks, apparently.
Also, the bow can be leveled up in quality using with another item in the shop. It's like the dragonspine sword in that sense but without a lore cutscene reasoning attached.
