I remember China recently have one of those laws trying to ban super-pretty men in media. a lot of folks (mainly husbando collectors) are understandably salty over the weird gender imbalance the game has (which I don't mind) and they naturally assume is a conspiracy to undermine the female gaze or some shit.

People are mad because there was a previously a line in the english translation that called the Dendro Archon 'he'. Apparently this was mistranslated, and they were referred to neutrally. With the update that they're a woman, the EN version got retconned, but people are still upset about it. Can't really blame them, though, since GI is pretty rare in that it's a gacha that panders to both men and women in regards to units, so having that turn into another waifu collector must be pretty salt inducing for all the women (and gay guys) who play.
