That graph is absolutely insane to me, I actually played Genshin from launch til around Hu Tao's release, I really hated the way it disrespected my time. Effort did not seem equal to reward imo. I knew it was big, but I could never have anticipated just how much.

The fandom is absolute garbage though, especially in the artist space, those kids do not know how to stfu about anything and are always playing the victim.
 
all i had to see was friends dumping $200 on the game day 1 and saying "it's really not a phone game at all. this is a real game" even though it was their first gacha game and everyone thinks that about the first gacha game they like (including me with puzzle and dragons when the english version launched)

they've all quit genshin impact because it's a phone game and i never touched the game

never understood that mentality to whale on the first day, i didn't spend anything until i decided i actually enjoyed the game, just like any other game. it has more substance than most gacha games i'll give them that, but why spend money on a game you know you won't play for longer than that

if you did a venn diagram for cookie run players and genshin players you'd have a majority in the middle pool... as in its mostly socially inapt loser teens that would've inhabited tumblr genderspecial circles back in the day

Also, I knew this girl with all kinds of personality issues who would spend her onlyfans earnings on getting max constellations for every new five star character + weapon. Gacha whales like her are my personal lolcows.

Since Cookie Run might have NFTs, do you think Mijewyo will do the same, as the later updates have been dripfeed content lately and they gotta earn that cash somehow?

I’m not super informed on NFT’s but I wouldn’t put it past Mihoyo to do so. If a McRib NFT exists, why not? It’ll be hilarious watching people drop thousands for their waifu.

I'm amazed that in all this time there hasn't been a shitstorm over how a certain Japanese VA voiced her character. Granted, players are probably less likely to play with the Japanese dub, but has Lisa's climbing noises never made it into the Twittersphere over how sexual they sound?

I watched the video just because I was curious what was "wrong" with the drawing. It got hate because it's not gay enough. Wow.

they don't care because the video is over a year old and it was severely reduced shortly after, meaning it was in the game less than a month after release (and no one plays that character anyway)...
