What's more to be said, "copies" of 5* characters and weapons are practically free for GI devs after covering the related costs. It gets funnier since HI3 has a reputation being more generous.

if the chinese fandom raises enough hell about this, then mihoyo may or may not rescind these sad ass rewards. seriously, good art isn't something you can just crank out in a day, unless you're insane and/or on uppers, and the welkin only gives you ninety primos a day when a single pull is one hundred and sixty. primos. i still like the game because autisms, but god this is so pathetic.
 
It's laughable how insultingly low these rewards are. They have no reason not to make the winners of these contests feel like whales for a day. You draw a really good Kokomi? Here, you get Kokomi and her weapon and all the resources you need for level 90 for free. There are only a handful of winners for each of these events, and giving people what they want (rewards in game) costs them less than random bullshit (airpods or a razor mouse or whatever). In fact, it costs them literally nothing and would be a much greater incentive. Imagine how many more people would go all out on a Raiden cosplay photoshoot if they could win a C3 Raiden for first place.

Since this is the "community event," I still expect them to announce some actual in-game rewards that everyone will get. But I don't expect it to be enough to avoid pissing everyone off again.

Well, I mean, IIRC the Japs are also drewling over Lolis, but they have a clear distinction between pixels or drawings on paper and actual real life. I could be wrong tho, so if someone knows better correct me. Also, Amber was 18 the last time I checked. Aether seems to be around 15-16, but apparently only visually, and is actually some demi god or whatever that's as old as Master Roshi. That's what some friend told me.

Nah, they still judge you if you openly jerk it to fictional kids and assume you're a pedophile. The creator of Studio Ghibli complained about lolicons infecting anime industry and called them "perverts" so being attracted to kids vs fictional kids is not seen as very different there at all. I feel like the confusion when it comes to Japan's feelings on this comes from people assuming that because Japan produces it, they must be cool with it. Don't assume that.

I remember reading about a Japanese man being embarrassed because he thought that when foreigners came for the olympics (this was pre-covid so no one was concerned about that yet), they'd judge all Japanese people once they saw that some of the shops sell pedobait crap including photobooks of real prepubescent children in sexual poses and clothing. It's not that Japan shits out pedobait mang/anime/whatever so the people must see it as very different than, well, pedobait in general. No, shady Japanese companies produce pedobait in general, manga/anime included. There's just nothing anyone can do about it.

I wouldn't go that far, but she's definitely not 5 star quality. Her signature weapon is complete garbage though. A weapon that can potentially cost hundreds of dollars, only really works on her and isn't even her best weapon. It even looks stupid.

Woobifying a Waifu Archon and a Sob Story to resolve her of all her Tyrannical Actions really did do wonders. And to be fair... Kokomi was barely in the Archon Quest as her role as a tactician barely held any significance and her Story Quest did jack to add her character than waifufying her. If they added more to her character than just be a Spoonie Waifu Leader, maybe. Imma guess the revenues will bounce back one Ma-Yae Sue's banner drops.

True, the heavy spending on the Shogun probably isn't doing Kokomi any favors, but she's primarily a healer being released into a game where Barbara, Noelle, Bennet, Jean, and Qiqi have been available since release with Diona following shortly after. Two banners ago brought us Sayu, who can also heal in addition to doing other things.

For anything Kokomi could be used for you've already got another character that can do it at least as well, most likely better than she can. The character demo for her was quite unflattering, and I imagine most who played the demo before rolling gave it a second thought and chose to save their rolls. Plus, as you mentioned the upcoming reruns, choosing between Kokomi or Ganyu is not a hard decision to make.

What bothers me is that people are complaining about rewards on a skinner-box game. A game meant to nickle and dime you till you cannot even pay the bills of your personal life.
