Genshin Impact seems like the perfect petridish. t's popular among Twittertards and their endless conquest against a foreign company that doesn't even glance at whatever they're whining about. It's so damn funny to watch.

Genshin Twitter has been review bombing ALL of Mihoyo's games in the App Store and started Review Bombing other games for no other reason than to complain about Genshin's Anniversary.Genshin Impact seems like the perfect petridish. t's popular among Twittertards and their endless conquest against a foreign company that doesn't even glance at whatever they're whining about. If true then holy shitRecently I heard that the Chinese government might have Mihoyo get rid of Venti which is somewhat funny. For context, Venti is an incarnation of a god and a bard. He also is pro-freedom and loves the city of freedom known as Mondstadt wanting everyone to choose for themselves where they take their lives.
he also looks young and girly. and the chinese overlords don't like that.Recently I heard that the Chinese government might have Mihoyo get rid of Venti which is somewhat funny. A free 10x pull for first anniversary is genuinely too low of a prize, especially when you consider how big their sales is. This is laughable, perhaps only FGO is this cheap with freebiesGenshin Twitter has been review bombing ALL of Mihoyo's games in the App Store and started Review Bombing other games for no other reason than to complain about Genshin's Anniversary. As Damage control, Genshin decided to give away the planned $30 Music Bundle for free with 1600 gems divided into 4 days.

Kind of yes, and no. See, the one that people are talking about is based only on a memo of internal discussion between game companies (so not exactly an official order). Basically the companies are discussing how they should self-censored themselves to appease the Party, and what kind of things are allowed from now on, and what's NG.If true then holy shit
Other games of free-to-play kind have also given far better anniversary content than Genshin, which, while a bit unfair to compare with, deserves to be mentioned to show how jewish the company is, especially with how the fanbase has an absurd amount of whiteknights.A free 10x pull for first anniversary is genuinely too low of a prize, especially when you consider how big their sales is. 1. This will affect the other games that utilize lootboxes to a certain degree. CSGO's economy might be destroyed as a result because a.) the Chinese trading is fuckass huge and has a history of having some of the most collectibles in the game in terms of rarity and b.) it uses a gacha system. Other games may include other free to play titles like World of Tanks, Team Fortress 2, I think even War Thunder might get affected should Pooh prepare for the gachapon ban.Kind of yes, and no. What's interesting from the memo are:
There are some more, but I think these are enough. And remember, this memo is only for now, while experts (actual experts and journos, mind you, not game journos) that I know mentioned its most likely only going to get worse, with expectations its going to continue for years. Suffice to say, gaming in China (and also Asia) will probably won't be the same ever again after this.
- They mentioned gacha, p2w, and the like as "inappropriate". I'm not joking, this is going to change a lot of things
- No gay shit (obviously, this is China), especially the BL genre
- No effiminate guys or "sissy men". They're mentioning most of the Genshin male characters, with Venti used as the "prime example" of the sissy men
- No religion reference (citing SMT IV Final as clear violation)
- No apocalyptic setting, or other setting where the players are forced to kill others
- No option where players can choose "between good and evil" (this is hilarious)
- No overt Japanese culture. They're mentioning "lots of chinese games are more japanese than japanese games". Mentioning titles like Onmyoji. Also forbidding some words for title and content, like Shinsengumi
- No "wrong historical content" or option that might allow it. Even more so for content that promotes "militarism" and "jingoism". Mentioning Azur Lane, Paradox games, and Nobunaga Ambition

Considering they are trying to add CN voices to Arknights in fragments, who they promote as what a Chinese Mobile game should be.No overt Japanese culture. They're mentioning "lots of chinese games are more japanese than japanese games". Mentioning titles like Onmyoji. Also forbidding some words for title and content, like Shinsengumi
One of FGO's stages is literally a China AU so how will they tackle the revisions in the CN Servers is a thing to see.2. FGO will be fucked. As far as I am concerned CN was hamstringed to censor their Chinese depictions, which makes them able to modify the game even more should they keep reviewing it, including some of the lines in game. Also, Astolfo-fags BTFO.
There are several reason for I think led to this (admittedly) hilarious shitshow of drama. First, lots of the vocal players are kids, or this game is their first gacha, so they're overtly attached to both the game and community. Second, poor communication and management. If Mihoyo really was intending to give those as freebies, why they have to silence the comments? Why they didn't bother to reply or make a statement? Reminder that they used to have quite an active communication. Any gacha game would have treated an anniversary as a big event, and so far what's presented here is quite lackluster in comparison. Third, the trolls and the bandwagoning. Some people just love spreading the fire because it gave them clicks as so on.I'm pretty sure most of Mihoyo's money comes from outside of China. Even before chinese minors could only play for a few hours, the game wasn't popular with chinese players because most of them play on mobile. Genshin is a laggy fucking mess on mobile. Spiral abyss as well as some events become impossible. If things got too bad in China, maybe the company will just move. I'm sure they'll find some way to make it work though.
In other news, the review brigading and internet screeching about the rewards is ongoing despite players actually not knowing what the full rewards will be. So far the players know:
- that Mihoyo's giving away gacha and contest awards, which everyone hates
- that they're sending genshin players enough primogems (ingame currency) for ten wishes via "mail"
- that a free ten wishes can be gotten from the anniversary log in rewards
- that the beat-em-up part of the event gives coins, character strengthening materials, and 300 primogems in all (1 wish costs 160 primogems)
- that the chest-hunting part of the anniversary event gives weapon enhancing materials, coins, a big fish weapon everyone loves, and all the random material usually found in chests including a guaranteed 5 primos per chest which adds up to 600 primogems.
- that the questing part of the event gives 90 primogems along with other smaller rewards so far but that there will be more as more quests become unlocked.
- there's a personalized chibi theater that I'm sure the players find adorable.
And that's just so far. Mihoyo might be springing more on their players as the anniversary event continues. The internet-wide reeing seems like they could've waited a bit.
It looks like the genshin twitch players egged their (mostly f2p and low spending) base on to review bomb every app owned by mihoyo and the fans are such dumbasses that they didn't realize that the twitch players would of course be angry with the rewards no matter what because twitch players drop thousands of dollars on this game. What anniversary reward would be worth thousands of dollars?
What? With all the stuff that was posted here, you think that the vocal playere are children? Man-children is more like it.First, lots of the vocal players are kidd
Also this is the first time I heard the game is actually not that popular in the mainland China

It's like a kid having a birthday a few days before Christmas and getting a single gift for both combined. Moonchase isn't an anniversary celebration, it would have happened regardless. The login event is just like the one for Lantern Rite, and doesn't specifically mention the anniversary either. There really was just nothing until the panic mail gifts. Also the reason why people are so pissed over the rewards is partly because the Moonchase event isn't part of the anniversary. It's to celebrate the mid-autumn festival in China. Events that give out the same rewards as Moonchase (gems, exp, weapons) happen every patch, so it's not anything special. The only thing explicitly for the anniversary in-game is the log-in event and now the mail gifts
Oh, sure, there are lots of man-children of course. But don't underestimate the amount of kids that "identify" as part of the playerbase/community. Specifically the impressionable type of kids that are the 14 years old communist, the self proclaimed troons, and general weebs alike. They are quite vocalWhat? With all the stuff that was posted here, you think that the vocal playere are children? Man-children is more like it.
Imagine thinking bitching and moaning will in any way effect Azur Lane or Arknights. Completely useless against Azur Lane. Its a behemoth that genuinely doesn't need the gender special audience. Arknights is also in a comfy position.Genshin Twitter has been review bombing ALL of Mihoyo's games in the App Store and started Review Bombing other games for no other reason than to complain about Genshin's Anniversary.
