I assume it's either because their only exposure to Genshin is 15 second videos with added random trash music that pushes the limits of their attention span or the few that have actually played the game have their own music blasting away 24/7 and have never actually heard Genshin's soundtrack (which is frankly really good for a mobile gacha game).
It's more multiplatform than mobile in terms of games. I've heard it runs like shit on mobile but then again everyone I know that plays it plays it on PC or console.
Also the music is fucking incredible, too good for it's own good. Not a bad thing but still JEEZ it's clearly a labour of love from the artists involved. Especially the YOOOOOOO ass music.

The music in question, for those who don't understand what's being talked about, has actually been uploaded tothe game's official youtube channel in an OST album video format.

That thing do look a lot like genshin at the first glance.
Oh it absolutely copied, I have now played both.

I just think it's funny that twittertards are calling it bad evil when every other day they are crying about some shit Mihoyo have done.

There's a difference. Genshin, to say it politically correct, borrowed lots of things from a number of different sources, and then managed to unite it all under one stylystics, while also adding original things. New game looks like it borrowed most of its visuals from just genshin. Other mihoyo games don't looks as genshine-y as this.

Not disagreeing there.

Its visual assets look straight out of genshin, however I do strangely find the friendly NPCs in ToF a lot better looking than Genshin.

Will be interesting to see if it goes out with a bang or a fizzle, I'm sure we've not seen the last of entertaining takes from both fandoms though.

Apparently the ToF devs themselves called their game the “Genshin killer”, but the evidence is a bilibili link and I don’t understand mandarin.

Other one being broken dialogue, did these people play Genshin on launch? I remember one of the massive complaints at the start was the dialogue/voices missing.
The Trails of Tianqiu and Light Guiding Ceremony quests were bugged for some people, which locked them out of co-op because they couldn’t finish them. It took a few weeks for the devs to fix and people with those bugs couldn’t play the game’s first event since it required co-op access. Both of these were fixed by the time 1.1 came around.

Then there was a lot of people getting hacked until Mihoyo added verification in 2021.

It depends on your phone model. If you have an older phone like an iphone 6, it is going to have trouble running (frequent crashing, reverts to lower graphics, enemies and objects not loading in until 5 minutes later which makes abyss borderline unplayable, etc.). If you have a more recent phone, the game will run fine. I’m a mobile player and it rarely crashes for me.

(Also, I agree. Inazuma has a good OST, especially Tsurumi Island.)

Don't know whether to post this in the genshin fandom thread or here I'll just cross post it.
Anyways today's stan is an obsessive fangirl to the point where murder could likely happen and animal abuse!

The twitter call out thread where most of its calling out the person for animal abuse.
The person in question speaks Spanish so the translations are in the thread
The person admitted to killing two hamster(why it's always got to be a hamster poor guys deserve more love) and was planning to kill their cat. One post that caught my eye is where the person said If they ever had kids they would probably abuse them because lack of patience.
The other thread is where the obsessive behavior comes in since this person is a fan of zhongli from genshin impact. They are so obsessed with zhongli they drew art like this:
and this video dear God
IWEVPz1uHcf_MPVw.mp4
Just you're run of the mill fangirl with too much time on her hand and parents that never took their ass out back and beat them.
Their accounts:
could anyone make archives of the two accounts? Archive is acting up for me.
Cross post from waifu culture thread.

> ToF devs themselves called their game the "Genshin Killer"

ToF devs really foreshadowing their own game going 6 feet under just for saying that.

TL/DR: Devs really need to stop acting like arrogant fucks when they ship out a game that's made to compete with something much more popular since it only sets up expectations that inevitably lead to disappointment.

It really is a "Destiny Killer" scenario. Some devs make a game that they believe will lead to the downfall of a popular IP and then act like hot shit about it, only for their own game to die out in months. How about we look at some actual "Destiny Killer" scenarios, shall we?

Anthem - Easily the most popular case of this. EA pushed the game out saying it would be better than Destiny, only to lose faith because of their unrealistic sales predictions, which then warranted an entire year of EA just neglecting Anthem, ending with the game getting shut down for good. Worst part is, that was only one of multiple factors that lead to Anthem's overall failure.

Outriders - Similar case to Anthem, but not as bad just because it wasn't made by EA. Game still gets lukewarm reception and is mostly seen as another case of Square Enix's recent losing streak of releasing anything that isn't related to FFXIV.

Warframe - For the longest time, everyone thought WF was actually gonna bring Destiny down, but then DE began to neglect their veterans more and more, release unsustainable content that only the biggest of masochists would ever consider endgame, not fixing long lasting game breaking bugs and optimization issues, and cucking the game even further with their terrible grasp on balancing. When WF finally breaks under the pressure of its growing list of flaws, it will be with a whimper rather than a bang. Warframe's scenario can be summed up as DE's higher ups becoming cocky retards from the amount of good press that the game surprisingly still gets in spite of the aforementioned glaring issues.

That also reminds me of the games that claimed to be either World of Warcraft or Pokémon killers, but the only thing they managed to kill is themselves.

The 2-year Kaeluc drama has reached nuclear levels.

I'm quite late to this, but I checked the video. It's from an online advertisement for ToF. A rough translation would be something like 'Comparable to Genshin! Is this the next TGA Best Mobile Game? Download Now!' They use the term 对标, which is common business parlance for 'benchmarks itself against' or 'aims to match' and is colloquially understood to mean 'rip-off.'

'The next Genshin' is probably a better translation than 'Genshin killer.' Pretty sensational either way, but you'd also expect this kind of clickbait from an advertisement. The video you linked and the comments are certainly ridiculing the claim, though.

Oh, I see. I wouldn’t say it’s the next Genshin, but it’s not too shabby from what I’ve played.

I agree because that's basically every anime but these psychos act like it's on the level of loli tentacle rape.
I don't know what kinda anime you watch where you could consider it"basically every anime". Usually anime is about shit like the power of friendship not the "technically not incest cuz adopted totally wholesome uwu" shit twitter fights over despite it literally just being exclusively fanfic shit as opposed to actual canon shit.

Well I don't watch anime but what comes to mind is shit like oreimo where they're technically not blood related but it's still weird, and weirdos I chat with also agree that's weird and happens a lot. It's gay so it's degenerate by default, what the fuck is the point of arguing over how smelly the shit is. It's just funny, is all.

clearly you aren't watching the right animes
