Basically there was a group of white people that said "Fuck the gods", used technology to clean up instead of magic, and then got bitch slapped by the gods (literally all of them gangbang these people) and turned into a primate race that the PC kills in mass.
IT wasn't just using technology instead of magic, they literally cut themselves off from the rest of the world and then built massive machines of war to take over the rest of the world. There's also implied shit that they may have accidentally unleashed some sort of ancient incomprehensible evil or some shit but yeah whatever fucking happened ended with a lot of them being turned into literal fucking goblins that reincarnate and slowly lose their memory till they just lay down amd melt into black goo. This process like is supposedly one that takes thousands of years unless it's in some very specific areas with purifying properties because of course it fucking does. However, instead of curing them it just kills them faster. Some of them didn't become goblin monkey men though, some became fucking demon husk ass knight things, or gangly tall fuckers thatcan actually return to their human form using magic shit. Some of the guys from that country survived as normal people either similarly cursed with conditional immortality or just ascompletely normal people that had kids and shit and the kaeya guy these sorts of people swear up and down is black because he's a bit darker skinned than the other characters even though there's jokes in the fucking game about him having tan lines is a descendant of one of these people if I remember correctly.
