At what period did Patterson book? 2000 is my fav period so I'm pretty said on Chris (or Freddie Prince Jr for just the lulz of thinking of him as WWE's head booker)

i believe he was a booker as part of the committee from 84-97 full time (but ultimately everything has to go through vince)

You mean IRS's son? He's been doing the creepy cult leader thing for 2 years with no new development and creative isn't sure where to go with him.

Yeah, at this point, they really need to inject something new into the Wyatt family, or else fans will continue to sour on them

Then please do something with him instead of throwing a dart at a board full of somewhat legitamite wrestlers and then putting them in a nonsensical feud that last a quarter of the year and doesn't matter in the long term. Wyatt's feud with Dean Ambrose only served to show that WWE doesn't know how to book either Ambrose or Wyatt. Wyatt won all the matches but never because he wrestled better. Normally it was because Ambrose did something stupid and obviously scripted that ended up backfiring on him... Actually that was all of his matches with Wyatt... Every major Ambrose match in the last year has ended in a similar manner to this

I'd love to see the WWE pull the trigger and make Cena turn heel, if only for a few months.

That's a far step from what it used to be: Wyatt cuts the same asanine promo every week, Harper grunts something that kinda sounds like a word, Rowan dows nothing.

At least it's better than Rowan's last

Cena says he wants to but he doesn't want to dissapoint the children, and he doesn't have anyone that's big enough with kids that can take over Make a Wish for him.
 
Signed up for Progress Wrestling's on demand service today and I'm just finishing off their first show. I dig the gimmick of not having traditional belts for their titles (although the world title is now a very nice looking belt), but rather here the Progress title is a big staff with an eagle on top. The fans immediately started a Nazi staff chant

Correlation does not equal causation. WWE also had the hottest babyface since Hulk Hogan, the second hottest babyface since Hulk Hogan, and the hottest heel since Hollywood Hogan. They also had Pat Patterson, Jim Cornette, Jim Ross, and were less constraining on their talent.

Go back and look at what Dunn and Russo actually did during WWE's hot periods. They did everything they could to sabotage shit back then. They just did a worse job at it than what they'd do later. If Russo and Dunn were born twenty years later, they'd be on Sluthate right now.

I wasn't saying that as a support for the two assclowns, I was just saying that it is weird that they were in positions of power at the time.

That's the problem with not having a character beyond "the champ, strongest guy." He doesn't have any kind of real enduring personality to glom onto like Austin or Rock, so he has to always win otherwise kids won't like him because "winner" is all the gimmick they bother to give him.

Which is a "recent" development with John sadly. In 02-03 he was the prototype, then in 04 up until about 07 he was the rapper/chain gang, then came the marine phase which lasted roughly into 2010 before being phased out for the current mood ring version of John. Up until 2010 he at least had some semblance of a character.
