There is a "mystery" opponent for the 4 way KOTR qualifier match on the 6/16 episode of Raw
Sheamus teased Iguana
Iguana responded

Even with all that, I still doubt it's Iguana, but it would be a lot of fun to see him interact with three serious wrestlers to start off with. Need to see Bronson hit a Tsunami on La Yesca.

Bronson wants that heat, brother.

I like the whole schtick Iguana has but seriously does anyone thing he'll be more than relegated to a Funaki or Eugene spot in the company after the shine comes off the apple?
Bro, CM Punk and McIntyre were feuding over a fucking friendship bracelet.

I get we're not in the AE, but a comedy wrestler can have an entertaining run and even get a serious feud. Doesn’t mean he has to win a world title or beat the likes of Cena or Gunther.

And I get that but the amount of buzz around him would make you think they just bagged the next main eventer and props to the guy but when it comes to a schtick wrestler especially a schtick wrestler in the WWE he'll be stuck in catering once the shine comes off the apple. Not shitting on the guy but the E has a history wtih guys like him.

Cody, Tiffany, and the Street Profits attended a recent Trump rally. Time to see if the lefty fans turn on them.
Aren't all of these guys pro-illegals, pro-interracial marriage and pro-homo/tranny? What are they there to do besides PR photo ops with the sitting president.?

You're shocked that there's Republican wrestlers?
In today's generation, yeah kinda. It's not Harley Race's days in the locker room anymore.

As the kids say, so much fucking aura, bro.

So I noticed on Amazon that Meltzer has a bunch of his complete years of Observers available for free if you sign up for their Kindle service. It was like ten bucks for three months so I signed up to kill some summer afternoons. I have only read the first three months of 1984 so far. What a crazy time. Hogan fresh off first title win, David Von Erich death and Vince really leaning in to his expansion.

The Hogan shit is funny. You can tell Dave isn't a fan of him, or anything WWF, but he can't deny what a monster star he already is. I know it's wrestling, but some of the crowds he is drawing are insane. Like 28k at MSG and the connected theater/forum or whatever. I know it has been said a million times but Vince was fucking ruthless. Buying AWA tv time in California out from under them like a month before they tried running one of their biggest shows ever, then touring LA, Sacremento and Oakland with all his stars, plus local favorites like Patterson and Ray Stevens. Vince also made a deal with one of the mid-size promoters where the promoter would trade Vince his tv time, as long as Vince promoted his shows. You can guess how that turned out. It's so funny reading this stuff with hindsight - you almost feel bad for these guys but then you remember they were just as sleazy and just got out carnied. The cope in some of the readers letters is hilarious. Stuff like AWA is better off losing all their top guys because now they can bring in new talent lmao. Reading the territory reports and title holders is basically just a preview of who will be defecting next.

I always leaned towards DVE dying of an overdose in Japan but now am not as sure. Again, it's Meltzer sourced by wrestlers, so take with a metric fuckton of salt, but Meltzer reports wrestlers claiming that DVE had been complaining of stomach issues and flu symptoms for weeks before going and allegedly told his friends not to let his dad know how he was feeling. Probably a mix of the two I would guess. I don't know if he was being groomed to be an NWA champion, but I do think he was on a short list.

Other interesting stuff like Dave hearing that Brody was going to the fed as early as May of '84 to take the leg and an apple of the Hogan tree, but even he admits Brody might have floated that out there himself to gain leverage on the other promoters. Hearing how intelligent he was about his business stuff, I don't doubt it.

Anyway, if you are interested in the history, especially of this insane time, I would definitley reccomend checking his Observer collections out. Dave is a pitiful writer, especially back then, but so much interesting stuff from the time that essentially established the modern era.

No they weren't, it was just the MacGuffin in the feud. Increase your media literacy, brainlet, and turn your monitor on. Also, get a clue. Perhaps also consider zooming out, as the kids say. Maybe have sex. Lift weights, gain height, hit the showers, etc.

at least in Cody's case we dont really know except for the interracial marriage stuff given his wife his black, most likely he's just publicly a safe centrist kind of like Roman Reigns being a centrist Democrat who agrees with Trump on some issues

The event they went to was to celebrate the 250 years of the US Army. It has nothing to do with trump other than trump making an appearance but that's a given since he's the president of the United States.

I read this sentiment a few days back and it's so true.

This style of "wrestling" has more in common with the fight scenes from West Side Story.
I will watch the sloppy fights in WWE over this shit. Wrestling is only fun if I have some willing suspension of disbelief.

He wasn't exactly a technical wizard in Mexico.
One time he was feuding with La Parka Negra, who had his own, EVIL puppet thing that was a zombie chupacabra or something.
So at one point the monstrosity and Yessika get into it in the middle of the ring.

In a not at all surprising turn of events, Jim Cornette didn't like Mr. Iguana. Gives Iguana credit for having his act down to where everything looks good, but hates the gimmick.

Also "reviewed" Gable vs Vikingo. Highly praised Gable, wants WWE to push him (I think everyone can agree with this). Doesn't care for Vikingo, thinks American fans won't like him. Claims he "zoned out" during a lot of the match and didn't really talk about anything that happened aside from Gable losing.

I'm guessing the he won't like the upcoming Bronson Reed vs Iguana blood feud (that I fantasy booked in my head and will probably never actually happen.)

Surprising nobody, Cornette is a humorless bitter old faggot and a cuck.
Cornette proud.webp

If anyone has whoppers bigger than The Hulkster it's Greg when he claimed they were going to get Hogan back in the AWA in 92' with a gold boat filled with ESPN money.
Yeah, that's some next level delusion. Greg might be low key one of the most insufferable people in the business.
>Promoters kid with that already comes with a stigma.
> Decent worker for the time, but he definitely didn't standout looks wise.
> Bischoff gave him a job out of respect to Verne and he fucked it up because he couldn't deal with Eric being his boss.
> WWE gave him a job as a trainer and he fucked that up.

Seems like the only place he had long-term employment was the family owned business.

I mean he booked a version of the Ninja Turtles in the 1990s. I don't mind Mr. Iguana, its better than Orange Cassidy. I figured he'd like El Grande Americano, that would get heat in AAA in Mexico.

I like Cornette for historical knowledge and insight into the business. Unfortunately pointing out everything bad with AEW is where his money is at. I dont even listen to the AEW stuff anymore unless AEW did something extra retarded.

I like their guess the program and from the files segments. Thats where Cornette's knowledge is awesome.

Plus his political takes are absolutely shit. That whale of wife cucked his brain real bad. But she's from San Francisco so its too be expected she's a complete idiot.

Cornette is one of those really stubborn Dixiecrats who still deludes himself into thinking the Democrats are a party of the working class unions who just want slightly higher taxes to pay for social services instead of the cesspool of leftoid nonsense it is. He has a really bad case of TDS as well.
