I could be wrong but I feel like Nick and HHH may have given leakers false information to get Zoomers worked up, they were willing to take a temporary PR hit to advance this Cena attempting to ruin wrestling storyline, they must have felt it wouldn't be a big hit if Truth was returning soon enough anyway
 
I think they realized they fucked up and immediately re-signed him.

I'd like to think they're smart enough to understand how "working the boys in the back" has historically worked out.

I love a good work. I still would have preferred him teaming with Cena for violent fun, but jumping Cena works, too.

I fully understand why, Cena wants to be booed on this heel run and nobody is willing to boo R-Truth.

Psycho Clown and Pagano worked sloppy as fuck. One of Psycho's dives to the outside was so fucking lazy looking. Those two AAA chicks from the prior tag match were also terrible. Hijo del Wagner was pretty fucking good in ring, but he did work in Japan according to Konnan so that would likely be why he's so polished in-ring.
