Mercedes carnied Naomi into leaving WWE and then left her high and dry. Thankfully she got a clue and grinded until WWE took her back.

It says a lot that unlike the rest of the women in her generation, Mercedes doesn't have a defining moment of her own. Becky's done it all, and Bayley managed to shed the Hugger gimmick and reinvent herself when she seriously needed it the most. Charlotte... well, she's does the >woo thing, but at least she's Ric's daughter. And Saraya/Paige... well, everyone knows what she did with her titles.

It's easy to discount a former WWE talent like Mercedes for touting herself as an under-pushed main eventers then underperforming in AEW, but how much of the blame can be laid at her feet when Tony has a proven track record of being the drizzling shits when it comes to promoting main eventers? A few years ago, MJF was considered the biggest name in wrestling and a huge potential signing for WWE. Then Cody left, and now he gets the same lukewarm response as every other "star" in the company. That's not to say that the talent themselves are blameless, but I think it helps to consider the roof they're under when talking about how badly they've flopped.

Been busy with work and got behind on the thread and shit. I'm not surprised that Cornette mentioned his dog passing on his podcast. As I recall, they regularly air emails and comments that their listeners send in about their own pets. I doubt anyone that follows his show took issue with it.

I saw the Cope/New Zealand guy vs the Death Riders match on YouTube. I don't get this booking at all. Like why wouldn't you give a cheap win to the semi local guy and the fan favorite Cope (god it's weird to call him that). This story isn't going anywhere and it's not like the titles are in the line.

The bullshit chants at the end gave me "David Arquette WCW world champion" vibes. Like not "go away" heat but more of "I'm going to stop watching" heat.

I really don't get this Death Riders shit at all. When is the payoff? Why do they not bother with ring gear at all? Who is left to put them over?

It's like the NWO invasion, but no one has charisma at all.

Guess who came back. His Jewish wife must be pissed.

I liked when he swore up and down that AEW wasn't going to be affected by hockey moving to TNT, insisting he was a huge hockey fan, while also clearly having no idea that a hockey broadcast actually lasts longer than the three periods because there are two intermissions and then they announced Dynamite was moving to TBS. lol

I'd be incline to agree with you if it wasn't for the fact that she had two and a half years on the indies before going to AEW. She had plenty of time to build stock, work on herself. She didn't. She went to Japan for a cosplay match (no better way to put it when you debut as Sailor Moon) and than left when she was told that a defeat was on the cards. Fled to the US and got injured in the match she was meant to defend the vanity title the Jap's gave her. Once cleared, spent six plus months teasing if she would join AEW or WWE.

Since being in AEW, Khan has given her all the titles he can bully from other federations affiliated with AEW, plenty of promo time and a short lived manager to try and draw heat. Very few female acts have been given such grace in recent memory aside from Toni Storm. Even when she was TBS Champion, Julia Hart could barely get a pre-recorded vignette to hype her matches.

Their mission statement, at least from what I gather, is that they think the company is on the verge of collapsing and it's their job to save it. You might ask "how does cheating to win matches and attempting murder on random wrestlers on the roster save the company?" The answer is that question is, that there is no answer, because Mox is a midwit who thinks that copying and referencing scenes from popular movies makes for compelling storylines.

I just want to know how he sold the idea to Tony Khan that his world champion will never wear or be seen with the championship belt.

The closest thing I can think to this is when Shane Douglas tossed of the NWA belt when ECW was still technically Eastern Championship Wrestling. But that was planned, with the idea of ECW rebranding as Extreme and breaking away completely from the NWA.

It's not like AEW is going to rebrand. I don't get tying the belt up with Moxley if it's never going to be featured.

I haven't been there in months. They got some new janny who's a wolfcuck and I was getting banned for even bringing up the Summer of 92 or just quoting a post with 92 and saying kwab. Then I got banned longer for calling the jannies faggots so I deleted the bookmark and never went back. Can't even shit post in peace anymore.
Meanwhile that fat crippled faggot Rovert is allowed to spam the fucking website crying about WWE and Vince while necrobumping his own threads for weeks and deleting posts just to keep it up for longer. Jannies really need to do their fucking job already.

Y'know, when you really think about it, even looking at him as a hater, Tony Khan is overall a benefit to the wrestling business.

He pays out all these wrestlers from his father's money and bogus TV deals, like a Robin Hood stealing from the rich and giving to the needy. The wrestlers who leave to go to WWE get strong pushes, if only to spite AEW. His antics are more hilarious than harmful, and even if they are harmful it's not me being harmed so I don't care. Seeing someone fanboy for AEW instantly lets me know they're batshit or retarded, helping me filter my interactions with others. He's kept Jim Cornette bearable by giving him someone to shit talk besides Donald Trump and Vince Russo.

The only thing that really sucks is him shielding predators like Don Callis and perpetuating the myth that the Young Bucks are great wrestlers.

MJF was NEVER good. I really do not understand what the fuck got into people's water to think that faggot was ever good
I like MJF, but he’s only somewhat special in 2010’s/2020’s wrestling.
Ricky Starks can do what he does on the mic AND he’s a better wrestler.
MJF is a generic 80’s territory heel. Put him back then and he’s not special whatsoever.

Same reason why I will die on the hill that the pipe bomb promo was fucking lame and only set people off because was a dim light in the absolutely dogshit darkness that WWE. nosedived into after Benoit happened.

I think it’s funny to goof on AEW but as you noted I can’t understand hating another promotion that’s paying wrestlers. It must be such a relief to Triple H that if he has to fire a wrestler it doesn’t mean he’s basically telling them they’ll never make good money again.
Anyway this goofy song amazes me. There is no other way to interpret it other than the wrestlers are all singing that they are the mere playthings of Vince McMahon.
If you only knew what I’m gonna do to you. You’d be runnin outta here as fast two feet could carry you. YOUR DESTINY BELONGS TO ME! If you only knew!

Hey man bringing peace to your people or whatever takes time I guess lol

he's a great talker. never cared for his in ring ability, but his ability to talk shit has always gotten a good reaction out of me. he'd be great as some giant's mouthpiece
MJF is my favorite AEW wrestler.

Yeah, he goes for the cheap heat, but who cares? It's fucking wrestling. If a guy can get a reaction by just insulting the crowd, more power to him. His promos are easy to understand and listen to and he's a comfortable speaker with a good speaking voice. Fantastic promos overall.

In the ring he's solid. He is no Bret Hart but at least he doesn't do the flippy vanilla midget shit or the suicidal shit that Darby does and is overall easy to watch. He has a solid look other than his height.

My big complaint about him was the crying after that one PPV at the press conference. Otherwise, he's the best wrestler in AEW by a huge margin (in my opinion)

Just like in football, when people claim a young player is "The next Messi" just because he's somewhat decent, it kills the guy's career.

People constantly hyping up MJF completely hurts him as the guy just doesn't measure up to those standards. Not only fans but guys like Austin, Bischoff, Cornette, they talked about this guy as if he were Ric Flair reborn, better even.

Without the WWE, you are just some random try hard wrestler to the general audience, I either see MJF creating some type of controversy to generate hype for himself in the case Tony Khan doesn't let him go to WWE or he will stay in AEW until he rots which seems to be already happening, dude can't say he's only 23 anymore, he's near 30s.
