Those chair shots when Mick has his hands handcuffed behind his back, still makes me wince.
Read a few of Mick’s books (would recommend btw, at least the first 2), and he said his secret is if it looks like it hurts, it’s because it did.

I love Mick for talking to wrestling schools now, hearing the hardcore legend say you only have a limited amount of bumps in your body then you’re done, is pretty convincing.

TLDR Heel Rock piece of monkey trash jabroni cast ass boulevard Rock is top tier and and so much better than Final Boss Rock.
We got a glimpse of true heel Rock in that parking lot match with Cody, but Rock needs to channel that early energy to be interesting.

Rock hasn't been capable of that level of heel work since he started flirting with Hollywood.

Agree with that, his focus switched and Hollywood Rock wasn’t anywhere near as compelling.

The I Quit match where he sounded the ring bell right next to Mick’s ear and said “Bells will be ringinnng” is hilarious but still menacing.
Closest recently would be him singing part of Moana in that promo against Cody in Nashville, but again, there’s no ominous rage and edge there.

Thread tax for any Kiwis within driving distance or who care: Mick Foley is going to be at GalaxyCon in Columbus Ohio for some reason, but so glad he’s able to still make appearances with his health.

Thinking of going and taking the kids, but they’re going to notice his degenerative brain conditions, idk how they couldn’t.
Even in interviews now you can see him wander a bit and the tics in his face he didn’t have before.
He himself admits he’s less eloquent in speech and writing than he used to be.
Between his brain and his weight, very worried about him.
Didn’t want to buy tickets early because frankly I wasn’t sure he’d still be traveling then, especially with his failed weight loss and not being cleared for his final match this year.

Either way it’s still Mick, he’s still a legend, and he’s a genuinely good and nice man.

An AJPW OVA starring Giant Baba and the majority of the AJPW roster in the 90s, Baba is the protagonist with Rusher Kimura, Mitsuharu Misawa, Jumbo Tsuruta and Toshiaki Kawada. It shows him fighting the forces of evil, leading an evil american wrestler, including some Road Warriors ripoffs and someone who looks like Giant Kimala.

The plot is extremely God damn bizarre but the style is cute and charming, and I love how they animated Baba for an anime. The sad thing is that it doesn't have subtitles but you can slightly understand what's going on (well, the majority of it at least.)

It's a strange movie but is funny at the same time, wish they did more of this.

Yeah he has gotten pretty bad over the years. One of the worst bits I have seen is twitter videos by fan from signing events is when he will randomly start politsperging over orange man bad to the point where people start to try and walk away and he will grab them by the arm so he can keep sperging at them. I see him like that and I can't help but think about 83 year old Verne Gagne randomly snapping, murdering a guy, and having no idea that he had just killed a man.

Thank you for the heads up, can’t think of many things worse than wearing a MAGA hat because it’s the Midwest and a red state and having Mick call me an asshole and get aggressive in front of the kids.

They genuinely adore him and have watched most of his matches (besides Japan), but they also know he loves kids.

Mick is basically experiencing dementia but CTE isn’t real.
Terry Funk being dementia filled for years until he eventually died of it had nothing to do with his hardcore wrestling style.
Dynamite Kid was always an asshole, but he got downright dangerous after enough flying headbutts.

It shocked me to hear Taker say he doesn’t believe in CTE, but have heard other contact sports players say the same.
No I don’t think CTE makes someone build plans to murder their family, but the brain isn’t meant to be hit that hard and that much.

In Taker's case I think it is just part of him wanting to protect the business and part him being a boomer.

Also CTE sort of kills the part of your brain that is responsible for impulse control, and so makes it much more likely that you will lash out violently and not even be aware you are doing it at the time. Mick is a nice guy, but the American political landscape has become so poisoned with rhetoric that dehumanizes people that don't share your views that even a nice guy like Mick might be hiding a lot of subconscious anger under that goofy broken smile.

Kino line that could've came right out of the Ruthless Aggression era. I think it's about time the world learns that there are people that don't matter, will never matter, and should never be listened to.
Additionally, Carlito is a heel. I always liked him and hope this doesn't negatively affect him. If anything, I want to see Carlito double down and have backstage segments start off with him in the middle of learning Chinese.
 
I want to see the video of Mick Foley politisperging at a fan. I had no idea this was happening, but I distinctly remember Foley cracking jokes about the election on Twitter after the mail-in ballots were """""counted""""". I can't help but wonder if he really is just one bad day away from going Gagne-mode on some poor person.

The Verne Gagne story is also pretty scary and that in and of itself makes me think of the Benoit situation too. Completely different, but what did they say about Benoit's brain? That of an 87-year old with Alzheimer's. The idea of just snapping and waking up to be greeted by dead bodies is genuine nightmare fuel.

Slight power level, but fuck it: In Puerto Rico, we call all manner of asians Chinese. It has nothing to do with racism; look me in the eyes and tell me you can tell apart Japs, Chinks, Gooks and Flips without prior knowledge.

I doubt one hick in a red hat is going to get Mick to chimp out unless they really went out of their way to aggravate him. Especially if they have a camera in front of them to record it for internet reasons.
 
Know it's fucking dumb of these people to make a stink about learning Chinese they could do a whole R-Truth style comedy bit out of it where we see Carlito making a genuine effort to learn Mandarin and for him to go "you mean to tell me I should've been learing Japanese all this time and noone told me? Man das not cool." But he say the not cool part in Chinese.

The Japanese left a lot of bastards in China from their occupation, and there had been a pretty big issue with Chinese buying North Korean brides from their impoverished parents during the Kim Jong Il years. China is a massive nation spanning the territory of countless ancient kingdoms and tribal territories. There are like countless other types of chinks out there including Kaifeng Jews who are descendants of diaspora Jewish merchants who settled in Kaifeng, Henan and married into the local families.
