You know, at this point, I conclude Raw is way too effin long and I'm getting burnt out even paying attention passively. Also there's Sheamus. Sheamus gets jumped and Gunter guy backed off. interesting spot. New Raw is neat in the sense that there's a lot of small spots and things you'd never see under the old Vince team. Still a bit heavy on the ads however.

So far so good but it's fucked that all these ads seem timed to start during matches. In this case it cut off the replay of that sweet jump Sami did.
This camera work on the match is glorious. PHEW.
Breaker is gonna win so hard Sami will cry-Helluva kick AND first fall????? well fuckin hell.
Bron catches Sami's Moonsault, then throws him through the barricade on the other side of the ring. Cole yells "Sami's dead and then FUCKING ADS WHY ARE THESE ADS ONLY DURING MATCHES.

Zayn bumped into the camera guy into the announce table. It's pretty crazy how I've been watching Raw for about 18 years now and have never seen a match like this. I've seen the spots before, but the delivery feels completely distinct. Be it the talent or the cinematography, it feels refreshing. I like it!

Breaker won via spear. Awesome match. I think Breaker needs another finisher. So many people use/used Spear.
Oh they had a minute overrun too.

Dom talking about Liv making him tendies and letting him play as much vidya as he wants unglued me, fuck Liv and Dom are such good heels.

Heel Liv is more annoying but much more interesting to watch than face Liv.

And didn’t think it was possible for Dirtbag Dom to get more heat than he already did, but it seemed doubled last night.

They’re also elevating Damien which is nice, angry Judgment Day punisher Dad figure.
When they were still fighting upstairs I lost it when Liv jumped on Damien’s back and he didn’t react in a hindered way at all.
He probably could have done the rest of the match with Liv on his back, including lifting Carlito.
Damien is 41 which still has time in wrestling years for a good run, but it needs to start now for him to have impact.

Kurt Angle was only in WWE for I think 7 or 8 years but he’s still the Wrestling Machine with a superhuman athletic ability.
 
Watching the first episode of Who Killed WCW the whole thing feels very halfassed, like a high production greatest hits clip show with interview trailer lines cut in. It doesn't really string together a good narrative or try to even explain or visualize anything and I cannot imagine how confused anyone who isn't a wrestling fan watching this would be but this suuucks as a documentary.

There really isn't one killer of WCW. It was a bunch of people.

1. Hogan/Nash/etc with their insane contracts
2. Bischoff with his reckless spending and repetitive booking
3. Russo for coming in and turning WCW into WWF-lite and pushing away their audience even further
4. AOL/TW execs for pulling the plug (which was a lot easier after WCW was losing money at such a fast rate and cost cutting measures were needed at AOL/TW)

If the merger doesn't happen, WCW losing money makes no difference because Turner didn't give a fuck about money, so I guess you could say it's #4 but #4 doesn't happen as easily if 1-3 doesn't happen (it probably still happens but they'd maybe have given Bischoff and his group more time to get a TV deal which probably happens if WCW wasn't such a mess from #1-3)

I understand but they don't even try with the documentary, at least episode 1. There's no effort made to explain or take you back to that time in any meaningful way, it's just everyone talking shit about everyone else while a clip show is going on.

Like they talk about the 83 weeks where WCW beat WWF in the ratings and they spend like 30 seconds on it going "we kicked their ass!" and that's it.

They talk about online fandoms disliking the ending of Sting v Hogan and the most they have to say or show is a 15 second mock up of a couple of internet posts going "BISCHOFF WAS PLAYING SECOND FIDDLE TO HOGAN!" and then cutting to every interviewee going "Bischoff was the problem, it was Hogan and his creative contract!" without actually showing anything or expanding on that point.

I only watched the first one and realized how inaccurate it was and how it was just complete bullshit so I didn't watch anymore

I don't think Garcia swings that way. I don't have proof for it but he strikes me as the kind of guy that would pose for a girlie magazine that Bret Hart suspects is something else.
 
Well they stuck Dexter into a heterosexual relationship that they are content with keeping canon so having Garcia be Dexter's sex slave is off the table. Especially since they've uglied Dexter up so as to alienate the coomer demographic who might be interested in such a pairing.

And Nikki/Garcia work as a contrast to Live/Dom especially if they acknowledge that Dom is a spoiled nepo baby while Garcia had to let Chris Jericho do all sorts of perversions to him Harvey Weinstein style to get a big break in the business.
 
The idea to get Garcia over is simply have him be a jobber version of Rick Rude or put him in a cruiserweight division.
 
Starks will work in WWE because he has spent a long time working on his promo pacing and camera presence. Yes he's camp, yes he's a low-rent Rock and guess what? That's more mic work than most indie shitters around today. It's why he was fundamental to AEW's rise during and post pandemic with Team Taz. He was all over the card during his first two years in the company and it never felt out of place. The momentum was lost when Tony decided to dump Covid Lee into the tag-team title scene with, at the time, an ice cold Swerve and having them go over when Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs had reached their teams peak. It showed to the AEW faithful that WWE rejects will always be considered first.

Neither could recover from Tony's constant fumbles when he decided to split them up a few weeks later. I have to imagine Taz on occasion seethes at his creation being diminished in such a manner. Hobbs, even with the accolades to his name, got it the worse of the two. Fucking teaming with QT and now working as muscle for Trent Barretta?!

When Cody and Punk are both advocating for you, you clearly have something worth a damn. Garcia on the other hand? He make's Gargano look like a Heavyweight

If they're not careful they're going to accidentally turn Dom face with promos like that. You could see the crowd going from booing him to realizing "you know he's making some good points, why are we booing him?" during that segment. One guy yelled "You're the man Dom!" and then when he said Liv did something Rhea never did another guy yelled "what she do!?" Then they started WHATing Rhea near the end which made it even more confusing.
I still don't buy Rhea as a face in this, Liv basically rescued Dom and gave him a better life.
 
I caught a couple seconds of Ripley's promo where she accused Dom of having a small dick. Isn't that what every scorned cunt says about a guy? Of course Dom is the face here. Maybe that wasn't the intention, but that's how it comes off.
