How could you diss the icon bruce hart like this?
Bruce is my favorite bum in wrestling. Every story is Bruce trying to get himself over and everyone ignoring him. Bret has a bunch of stories about him but my favorite comes from a Lance Storm shoot interview. Him and Bruce were doing a TV spot to promote WWF then Bruce goes on a tangent about the guys “he” trained and that WWE and Stampede were starting a partnership that would lead to TV. Lance was mortified because he knew it was total bullshit and Bruce was going to get him in deep shit

The world champion stuff is dumb revisionist shit. He was never going to get anywhere near a world title after Montreal.
Wasn't he aware of this and looking to get out of the business entirely?

I remember hearing stories back in the day about how he just wanted to finish out his contract and become a teacher or something.

I got an unpopular wrestling opinion that will certainly grind a lot of gears.

Owen Hart was super overrated and is only praised like he is because of his death.

Owen was thought of just as highly before his death. He had huge buzz from being the top star in Calgary over guys like Pillman and Benoit.

His talents also weren't best demonstrated in the WWE. If could have had a run in Japan or original ECW, his talents would have shined brighter.

Fireman. You might be conflating stories about the other Hart brothers (either Bruce or Keith, I can't recall which) who was a substitute teacher.

It was more he wanted to spend time with his family since his kids were getting to be that age and have 'em grow up.

And yeah, he was more or less done, but I believe the Hart Foundation '97 thing caused him to re-extend. He was trying to play out the string on his contract.

His promos were awful. He had no charisma.
Owen and Bray are pity-liked, simple as.
Career-wise, they were mediocre and never had 'it'.

I could really do without Zesty Rollins shoehorning himself and his garish wardrobe into this feud but I guess someone has to be clobbered by Drew and I assume it's going to be Rollins.

His promos were awful. He had no charisma. His in-ring work was good but he was not very safe with his opponents. He did that piledriver to Austin, against Austin's wishes, and nearly paralyzed him and fucked up his neck, which shortened his career. He then tried the exact same thing with Dan Severn and almost paralyzed him as well.

Smarks love to say shit like "he would've been world champion at some point". There's no fucking way he would've been world champion with guys like Austin, Rock, Foley, Taker, HHH, etc.. and later Benoit, Eddie, Angle, Lesnar, Cena, etc...

I actually was rooting for him to beat Godfather at OTE since I hated Godfather (even me at that age thought it was a try-hard stupid gimmick), but he's only praised like he is because he died early.
He wouldn't have been the champion on RAW, but I certainly think Owen could have held the World Heavyweight Championship on Smackdown if he were around during the brand split era. Like, he wasn't going to as big as Bret or anything, but he definitely could have had a hall of fame worthy career if he were rounding out his career on Smackdown during the Ruthless Aggression era where more emphasis was being put on work rate and he was tearing it up with Kurt Angle and Eddie. Probably would have been a star of the level of say, Christian. Kind of an upper midcarder who flirted with the world title a couple times.

He wouldn't have stuck around if he lived anyway, and WWE wouldn't have pushed him because he was Bret's brother, though, so it's kind of a moot point. Owen said he was going to retire when his contract was up. If he kept wrestling, I think the most likely scenario is his career would have been linked closely to Jarrett's as they were good friends, and he was pissed with how Vince treated his brother. Owen probably would have went to WCW, held the US title and cruiserweight titles a few times, ended up in World Wrestling Allstars after WCW folded and then rounded out his career in TNA as the elder statesman of the X-division. He would have been brought in to do the heavy lifting when Bret reconciled with WWE and had the mania match with Vince in 2010. Then he probably would have semi-retired, signed a WWE Legends contract in the early 2010s and made sporadic appearances in Rumbles and Raw reunions and stuff.

Brodie was boring as crap
Absolutely; Cornette's burial of Brodie's piss-poor attempt of being a leader of a heel stable on the mic says it all:
mediocre in the ring
His Intercontinental Title match with Dolph Ziggler at TLC 2014 (and their 2014 feud in general) was entertaining; he could go, though he needed someone like Ziggler to compliment his brawler style.

The wrestler formerly known as Val Venis is having a legal meltdown over someone buying his expired web domain.

Is that how it works? If you own the trademark and full legal rights to a name then you are always and forever entitled to web domains reflecting that name?

My non-legal analysis: Sucks to suck! You should've registered and retained the domain name if you wanted the domain name. You snooze, you lose~!

Pretty sure if it was illegal to register a domain name relating to someone and then using the website to criticize them then the Church of Scientology and its similar attacks would have been stopped years ago. They most famously registered domain names related to Leah Remini to launch many nasty attacks against her after she spoke out about Scientology in documentaries and in her auto-biography (a decent read, by the way).
