ROH needs to be their version of NXT. Set up shop at the old Impact Zone or something and let prospects like Nick Wayne and Hook grind out EXP like they should have been doing on the indies.

I'm watching last nights Collision right now and while the matches are fun this venue has a terrible atmosphere.

E-sports is probably one of the most autistic things ever and i say this as a 30+ year gamer. Games are entertainment, not a sport.

Their arena sucks. It's all floor seating based around being able to see the shut-ins on stage playing Starcraft or whatever. Basically just a bigger bingohall in the context of using it for wrestling. Feels low-rent as fuck for a company that is going to be working Wembly in a months time.

its not just the venue choice, its that theres no stories in AEW, its just an occasional good match and thats it, they don't understand what a wrestling show is supposed to be. Tony Khan is completely ignorant and thinks all you need is good matches and not story and presentation, thats the biggest thing killing AEW at this very moment

Yep, matches mean nothing if there's no story behind them. If it's just flippy vanilla midget #1 vs flippy vanilla midget #2, no one outside of neckbeard smarks are gonna give a fuck

So what’s the fucking deal with OVW? Is Al Snow trying to go fucking bankrupt? Is it delusion after the Netflix doc? Did he get a good deal on the arena? IMG_0560.jpeg

Looks like RoH is going to be rebranded to AEW: Ring Of Honor and will get a weekly TV show on one of the WBD stations under the new deal TK is signing with them,
This breaks my damn heart as someone who was fan of ROH since 2007.

They essentially became the WWECW version of AEW, ROH deserved better than this. I would've prefered that they died with dignity in 2022 now, what a shame.

Gunther calling Priest ghetto street trash is peak Teutonic arrogance and fucking dimes brother.
Can’t wait for him to win at SummerSlam and walk into that match with Dragunov in Berlin as a demigod.

AEW has stories on Dynamite and at their PPVs.

Rampage and Collision are just Tony mashing his toys together.

The stories AEW does have suck. The Jericho story? Sucks. The "devil" story? Sucked. The Old Fucks are evil EVPs? Sucks. Will Ospreay is afwaid to hit the Tiger Driver? Sucks. Mariah May skinwalking as Toni Storm? Okay, that one is good.

I know a lot of people shit on Collision being in an esports arena and while that’s true there’s one big positive. The Texas location, specifically the Von Erichs getting one last chance at the big spotlight. Have a massive soft spot for this family

I'm feeling hungry, fellas. It's feeding time.
Yeah, Ryback finally showed up in my Youtube recommendations.
The Ryback shirts shilled at the start don't look bad. Better than a lot of prowrestlingtees' shit, really. The main video is...not really worth watching but I guess he has enough of an audience from this to make money.
seems like he rebounced of the hate that he isn't gonna retire lol.

Speaking of Bray and Wrestlemania: I always thought the gimmick where Bray used a projector to put images of bugs and worms on the mat in his match with Randy was an awesome idea and should come back. They could have done more with it and the audience's reaction the first time they did it was so special. Loved that so much.

I got an unpopular wrestling opinion that will certainly grind a lot of gears.

Owen Hart was super overrated and is only praised like he is because of his death.

His promos were awful. He had no charisma. His in-ring work was good but he was not very safe with his opponents. He did that piledriver to Austin, against Austin's wishes, and nearly paralyzed him and fucked up his neck, which shortened his career. He then tried the exact same thing with Dan Severn and almost paralyzed him as well.

Smarks love to say shit like "he would've been world champion at some point". There's no fucking way he would've been world champion with guys like Austin, Rock, Foley, Taker, HHH, etc.. and later Benoit, Eddie, Angle, Lesnar, Cena, etc...

I actually was rooting for him to beat Godfather at OTE since I hated Godfather (even me at that age thought it was a try-hard stupid gimmick), but he's only praised like he is because he died early.

Owen was a good hand. A solid worker who could have a good match with pretty much anyone but not near as skilled as Bret (hence him being a bit sloppy at times).

I think the reason he was so well regarded is that he was a fun guy to be around for the boys in the back. Sure there were a few people who thought he went a bit too far with some of his ribbing but most of the roster liked him being around to fuck around with. See also: Randy Orton.

The world champion stuff is dumb revisionist shit. He was never going to get anywhere near a world title after Montreal.

But he was a good wrestler and he had good comedic chops and was largely respected by the locker room. I know not everyone (Austin, lmao) but he was one of the few guys who was near-universally praised, like a Bobby Eaton or Molly Holly.
