As someone who is a AEW enjoyer I'm dreading the All In video segment tomorrow. It's going to be cringe, retarded and extremely gay.

They love that retarded design too much to drop it, and zoomers generally don't like the smaller belts of yesteryear.
The giant WWE logo branding is such a Vincism and a major turn off for someone who isn't brown and/or mentally retarded. I, for one, would love a return to the WWF Winged Eagle design for a Cody run.

It obviously needs some updates such as the WWF branding being replaced with the WWE logo, and the front set of sideplates being replaced with interchangeable sideplates slots. The classic design fits Cody's aesthetic and style as a sort of throwback character as well as having a more timeless feeling. The interchangable sideplates adds a certain level of personality and uniqueness to each title run and lets whomever the current champ is impress that the title is theirs. For the rearmost sideplates I think something like NJPW V4 title has with a list of previous champions could help elevate and emphasis the dual lineages of the Undisputed Universal championship and provide a sense of continuity to the belt's mixed lineage.

For example the right rearmost plate could hold slots for the 5-8 former WWE Championship title holders with the longest reigns ordered as a descending list. The left rearmost plate could hold slots for the longest WWE Universal Championship title holders reigns ordered descending list. This will allow the WWE to acknowledge historic runs of the past such as the Sammartino, Backlund, and the Hulkster, while also putting over more recent champs such as Roman. This will especially help Roman himself as he would be the one man who would appear on both sides. It will also make historical title runs have a special feel as the moment a current champion is able to add his name to the rear sideplates could be treated as a special occasion.
Please excuse the autism. I am not one of those guys that collects belts I didn't earn, I just really appreciate how a good belt can serve as a prop to elevate a promotion, worker, and the feel of a title match.

AEW lost me as a fan a while back, but I don't actively want them to shoot themselves in the foot. AEW fans may be incredibly obnoxious and I love seeing them eat shit, but AEW is unironically good for the industry and beneficial for the workers themselves. The moment that WWE no longer has real competition in North America is when the TKO jews will absolutely start fucking over the workers because they know they can get away with it.

That said there is no way AEW is going to come out of showing this video and not look like shit. After that cringe promo Cope cut about just wanting to have fun and not care about the drama doing this shit just a week later looks hypocritical as fuck. If the video shows Punk getting his ass kicked, then releasing it just makes AEW look like a buncha chumps attention seeking by having to trot out video of a guy that works for the other promotion just to get a boost in the ratings; as well as make Tony Khan's claims of "fearing for his life" look laughable and pathetic. If the video shows Punk kicking Jungle Boy's ass, then Tony just killed Perry's career by showing him get beaten up by the worst fighter in the history of MMA and makes Punk look like a shoot tough guy. If the incident was mix, for example Punk beats the shit out of Perry and then someone like Samoa Joe jumped in and chokes Punk out, then they still buried Perry and no one is really expecting much of a fight out of the worst fighter in MMA history. If they edit the video to only make Punk look bad while protecting everyone else they open themselves up to a lawsuit by Punk that TKO would gleefully fund knowing that it will hurt AEW.

This entire thing is a landmine that Tony absolute should never have even touched unless he was going to try and defuse it right after it happened when Punk had no backing. Doing it now seems petty, vindictive, and shows just exactly how desperate and worked Tony Khan was by that interview Punk had. There is no situation I can imagine where this won't backfire. When Meltzer, Russo, Cornette, Bischoff, Konnan, and basically everyone who isn't some terminally online weirdo like Rovert all agree that this is a bad idea then maybe you should listen. I mean for fucks sake just Meltzer, Russo, and Cornette all agreeing on something for once in their lives should be a massive red flag that this isn't the thing to do.

There's one other possibility you didn't mention but is just as bad: if this is all a massive bait and switch and has something stupid with FTR/the Bucks.

That just makes AEW look carny as fuck with the added bonus of making all the dirtsheet dudes look like bigger clowns than usual (which is stupid if they're agreeing to be in on the con.)

Tony Khan has gone out and spoken to the media swearing up and down that this is not a bait and switch and that they will be showing the real video. The reason I didn't mention that option was that if he did actually pull a bait and switch it would forever undermine all credibility he has even with the die hards in his own audience. Nothing Tony says will ever again be treated with any level of trust, and any time he tries to make a statement there will be countless people wishing for his downfall jumping in to call him a liar. Tony does not in any way shape of form have the charisma or quick wittedness to finesse that kinda bullshit and play it off as an angle to work the marks. He isn't Vince, he isn't Jarrett, he is just a spergy 40 year old manchild with extremely poor control of his emotions. Meltzer in particular will turn on him since Tony personally called him to assure him that it is real. Meltzer has taken way too many hits to his credibility lately, so having Tony pull something like this on him will cause Dave to lose what little trust and belief he has in AEW and Tony himself.

For what it's worth, I agree that it is unlikely there's going to be a bait and switch. But we wouldn't even be having this discussion if Tony was a rational actor.

He's also made 'big announcements' that amounted to jack shit, has bungled lots of other shit, and is in a position now where his ridiculous "I feared for my life" comments are going to be under intense scrutiny. I honestly could see him being stupid enough to put himself in that position.

Fair play on the 'he's not clever enough to make something like that work', that's a good point. I just think you can never go wrong underestimating autism with a bankroll, and so far, the Snow Man hasn't disappointed.

I'll take either eagle; winged or big. Those belts oozed importance and prestige.

Daydreaming here, but I wish they'd not put any logo on it. Just make it say World Wrestling (Heavyweight) Champion. Make it look like it's not just the WWE's top prize, but the biggest prize in the entire business in general. The prize that every promotion aspires to have and is currently in the E. Big Gold was great at that.

From what he said in a interview with Sports Illustrated on the matter it's going to be the actual footage narrated by the bucks but they are going to tie it into the upcoming ppv which sounds like the dumbest shit ever in context.

Good grief:

“The Young Bucks will show backstage footage from All In, the most important event in AEW history–the world record-holder for the most tickets ever sold for any wrestling record, 81,035 total–and it was an important night backstage, as well.”

Fuck off, Snow Man, lmao.

I'd love to see whatever the hell they're going to air tomorrow but I cannot for the life of me understand what AEW is getting out of it.
  • If it's real and Punk actually fucked people up: Your top guys look like shoot bitches. But on the other hand you get to see Forest Frank getting choked out and big dimes PC monitor going over Tony.
  • If it's real and Punk was harmless: Tony's whole spiel about fearing for his life is bullshit, but you get to see Punk embarrassing himself.
  • If it's fake footage: Anyone can easily debunk it and Tony, Bucks and Jack are all looking like complete clowns
  • If it's an Elite gimmick: It would be cringeworthy and unfunny and it would signal just how badly AEW's doing to resort to this, especially if neither Phil or the WWE as a whole even acknowledges it

It's funny looking back on why I stopped watching WWE back around Wrestlemania 31. There wasn't a single issue that made me leave, but a bunch of dumb problems that killed any remaining enthusiasm I had for it. I couldn't believe the belt designs after the logo change. You're telling me all the belts are going to be the same W Belt but different colors and you're retiring the Big Gold for a red (or blue I can't remember) variant? Completely asinine. I hope this issue goes away sooner rather than later. Maybe the women will get a new belt other than the WHC but white design, maybe the Tag Team titles will change something else other than strap colors. Here's hoping. A lot has already changed in such a small amount of time and the W belt seems to be the one they've modified the most albeit with merging the two into one with yet another strap color. The custom side plates are cool and all, but whatever happened to name plates?
In short, bring back Big Gold.

No matter what herb Abrams would have told Tony this was a bad idea and to lay off the coke.

According to the rumor mill or blind items the Trips/Pritchard call down was unplanned and wouldn't have happened under Vince.

The Rolex they gave Cody that Dusty pawned was Khan's idea but Pritchard ran it down.

The AEW footage will be Wembley CCTV footage. I can believe this considering Bongland is one of the biggest surveillance states on Earth.

Oh and Seth will be gone about 4 weeks to recuperate.

Bruh, how that nigga still trotting out the attendance lie despite getting btfo by the "great" shitish government itself claiming that there was no such number in attendance. Is he that desperate for even one win over the WWE that he will keep denying reality until everyone just gives up and stops telling him he is wrong? Nigga really is running the troon production what with this complete denial and stonewalling of reality in addition trying to speedrun a promotion like he is trying to join the 41%.

Unless I missed it, in that SI article, Khan never says it's footage of Punk. It could be literally anything, lol.
I haven't seen the SI article yet, but on the April 7th episode of WOR Dave and Bryan specifically says it is footage of the fight before kvetching about what a bad idea this is for Tony. It begins at 4:18
