Layoffs are sad but honestly AEW needs a lot more. Tony needs to focus on what's best for the business, not having the most toys. Sadly he probably just sees this as room to get more toys instead of actually doing something with what he still has.

Lucha Underground had throughout its entire run, according to its website, a total of 52 men and women's wrestlers including Vampiro and Matt Striker. According to the AEW roster, it has one-hundred and twenty-five wrestlers. Granted this doesn't reflect the most recent cuts and also includes off-shoots like Prince Nana and Paul White, but this is also just the men's division. Another thirty-eight women's wrestlers. WWE has a larger number, but it also has 3 different shows and a lot of the included roster aren't full-time wrestlers. Unfortunately, I think Tony will keep this going forever, even if he's the only fan left in the stands.

The roster was getting too bloated in 2021 when the brought in Punk, Danielson and the Undisputed Era. It's only gotten bigger since then.

AEW needs around 70 workers. Ten vets like Danielson and Samoa Joe, ten women, ten young guys you can build up like Hook, ten stars kind of in the middle of their career like Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, ten tag teams and ten jobbers you can kill when you're building someone like Peter Avalon. Have a world title, a tv title, a tag team title and a women's title. That's more than enough to fill five hours of TV a week. They have so much extraneous bullshit now the product is nearly unwatchable.

Khan should release Miro and Guevara as both just aren't worth the money invested.

Miro is lazy and has bad attitude, guys like Guevara are dimes a dozen but he gets into trouble constantly, he's 30 now so if he won't listen now he most likely never will. I hope Matt Hardy doesn't get a new contract, he would be better off in WWE working backstage. Paul Wright is still under AEW contract, almost all these old and former WWE guys are not worth the money.

Sammy simply hasn't lived up to his potential during his AEW tenure. His ceiling seems to be "decent guy in the indies". He's a fool in his personal life, he's a shit promo and he's only ok in the ring.

Looks like Drew Gulak might be in bother because Rousey is claiming he reached into her sweatpants backstage when she was in WWE.

With how much Khan has fallen over Sasha Banks, it may create a Cabana situation if they release Guevara now or in the next couple of years even. I could imagine Sasha requesting not be near the guy at all.

So much potential drama in this company, thank you for being you Tony Khan.

Let the speculation begin

Gulak's response was short and to the point:
"Backstage at a WWE event in 2022, I saw Ronda talking with a group in the hallway. I stopped to say hi and shake all their hands, and in an attempt to shake her hand, I accidentally touched her drawstring. Complete accident, and one that I had apologized to her for the mishap."

Anyone catch Dark Side of the Ring on Harley Race?

I always knew he was tough but sucks to find out he was such a shitty person to his wife and knocked up a 16 year old

Having watched the rest of the Punk interview, all's I gotta say is lmao.

There is probably a ring of truth to a lot of what he's saying, but every single situation was:

"I calmly and politely told so-and-so..."

Yeah, CM Punk, known for his tranquil demeanor.

He was the same smiles and chill dude when he first joined AEW, too. Maybe his experience with the Snow Man matured him, and again, I do think there's some truth in what he's saying, but it's pretty ridiculous how he portrayed himself in the best possible light and took zero accountability.

I really hope he has another spazz out.
I just finished listening to it as well. I get the argument about his known demeanor, but he is 45 now. Judging from the tone he had on the interview, he sounds like he's mellowed out significantly since the Colt Cabana interview.
It could all just be a façade though. This time around, he's working under WWE vs being freshly* unemployed. Regardless, it was a good listen.

Yeah, like I said, he might've matured, but this is also the guy who had a full on meltdown at a press conference like 2 years ago and has had a history of being a histrionic retard throughout his career.

People can change, I'm just skeptical that a heart to heart with Triple H made him realize just how much of a shithead he's been.

Personal guesses - either Triple H went hardline, “you have one chance, here is the line, don’t fuck it up”, or he assigned Punk a dedicated Tard Wrangler

That or getting injured, again, in a match where he didn’t really do much, gave him a case of introspection that he’d never publicly admit to, especially if theres any truth to the whole “Punk has money issues” bit that keeps coming up - this might be his last good shot at a big payday, if he is indeed in need of money that badly he might be on his best behaviour.

Cody vs Punk seems like the next big feud after WM

That'd be a weird feud. Two guys who left AEW dancing around outright naming the company on TV whilst one of them wants to describe how much of a shitshow it is whilst the other guy gives props to his friends over there by only using their first names just to make sure there's no chance a non-WWE wrestler gets their full name said on WWE TV.
