Nobody gets a push in lolWWE. They get a belt and get forgotten.

That said it's still impressive to see AJ overcome the triple-negative of a former WCW guy, a former TNA guy, and a Japan/indies guy.
 
- Former WWE Superstar Ryback (Ryan Reeves) announced via his podcast -Conversation with the Big Guy - that he has officially changed his name to "Ryback." He noted that he was recording in advance and was set to go before a judge on September 1st, but was confident that the process would proceed smoothly. Ryback mentioned on the podcast that there are other people named Ryback, so there's already a precedent set for his acquiring the name. He stressed that he isn't trying to get over on anyone and that he just wants to own an identity that he created prior to his time with WWE.

It's one of the things that makes Lucha Underground unique that it doesn't really have a PPV so they can have a one off match like this instead of spending weeks of non matches building up to it.
 
Someone uploaded the entire ill-fated run of Herb Abram's UWF promotion up on Youtube. UWF was, ok if we go back to the pre-Monday Night War 90s, and TNA is our WCW analogue, UWF is Ring of Honor, if it was run by a lunatic coke fiend who may or may not have scammed his way onto national TV by taking the name of Bill Watts promotion that Bill forgot to trademark back in the day.


And a little teaser of the quality that can be expected.



That said there definitely is some interesting things to see, such as an extremely early career Mick Foley, a surprisingly talented roster of WWF castoffs (who were booked terribly here, but so was everyone) and other big names, such as Paul Orndorff, Dr Death, Bob Orton, and of course, the joy of seeing a PPV that managed .10 buys.

And, for a bit of amusement, the man himself, Herb Abrams, according to Mick Fley, Wikipedia, and an uncredited source.

Just came back from watching KOTR and Summerslam 93. I don't think I like Bret Hart, at least not enough to care about him. If anything, he just accentuates how great Jerry Lawler is!

Whoever uploaded these gets a free round on me. Also, I love that the commercials are intact. Bravo.
 
Anyone ever see clips of an indie show (and I know there are several that do this) that have live commentary over the PA system? Just something about that seems so incredibly obnoxious.
