WCW was a thing since the late 1980's with it originally being GCW show earlier than that. It didn't really get bad until Eric took over in 93. I think that's when you started getting stupid shit like the Dungeon of Doom. Two years later we'd get Nitro. They'll (AEW) need just little under to years to make it past that.

Rather hard to find stuff from their old shows but Jack looked really good there.

I think they made a smart move having punk take a tour of all the shows before signing to one legit good way to build some hype

IIRC the Dungeon of Doom stuff was earlier than that, Kevin Sullivan was one of the bookers and he increasingly put in more weird shit. Though I will always have a soft spot for Saturday afternoon wrestling on TBS, a lot of it now is pretty cringe because of the shitty gimmicks.

His contacts were Jericho and Flair. That's why he was always hyping them up despite WCW and WWE being awful because they were both sources, along with Benoit and Eddy. And funnily enough if you go back and read old isssues of the observers those were the same guys he thought WCW should build the company around.

Same as the Bucks and Hangman Page in AEW today, and Dave still hasnt written a bad word about all the shite Jericho has been involved with on TV these past few years or even the horror show that is modern day Flair
 
Fun show last night with a loud, hot crowd. Lots of local pandering, but I didn't mind.

During the Bronson vs. Ivar match, some kid sitting a few rows away from me screamed "THIS IS THE WORST MATCH EVER!!!" until Ivar dove off the apron to the floor. Kid likes meaty men slappin' meat.

Dungeon of Doom as a stable started in 1995. Three Faces of Fear was a year before.

Are the people still booing Dom that much or is WWE pumping in noise on TV?
 
Something always struck me as odd with Nyla Rose wrestling the girls. When he does a powerbomb to one of the girls, he's got their snatch right up in his face. Luckily I doubt he still has his native American cock downstairs, so he's unable to pop a stiffy in the midst of a match.
