Nah, this has none of the usual elements of a worked retirement WWE always operates under.

Guys with way more feelers into the WWE than me have indicated that it is indeed a legit retirement, but not necessarily a willing one

Is their any real proof Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels actually had a homosexual affair?

I know it's impossible to verify anything related to this. Neither man would ever actually admit it if true, and just about all the guys who've brought it up all have a decent chance of just saying it to fuck with Vince and Shawn. But Jesus Christ, it makes so many of the pieces fit together: Playgirl; the politics; Vince's Bret Easton-Ellis-like obsession with hard bodies.

Well,WWE lost one of their best asset and seller. It's sad that Bryan retire tho,he was good.

I think the Playgirl story is honestly just nobody realizing it was mostly read by gay dudes. "But it says GIRL IN THE TITLE!" Is such a Vince thing.

I'll always be sad for this news, and I'll never stop missing Daniel Bryan. He was the best wrestler of his generation, and uniquely fascinating to watch no matter what he did. I wish he could stick around forever.

But I'd rather have Bryan retired and healthy than a few more years of him wrestling followed by decades of the poor guy being unable to tie his shoes or remember what his loved ones look like. Assuming he had even that long and didn't wind up like Test or Crash Holly or who knows how many other poor bastards.

The world would be a much better place if the Chris Benoits accepted what the Daniel Bryans came to terms with. Through this night, Bryan's shown he's a bigger man than Dynamite, Benoit, Angle, and all the other sad, shambling wrecks who turned their brains into glorified tumors. Daniel Bryan, by doing this, has shown he's more than just a man to admire. Daniel Bryan is a man to love and respect.

@cat, did you ever get to wrestle Danielson when he was on the indies?

I know I've made a lot of jokes about you being Tazz, but I'm asking this seriously.

we both began around the same time, but never met in passing.

I'm glad to have watched him at a live show a few years ago at a ROH Show at the Hammerstein Ballroom. He was one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. So was Chris Benoit, though. I'm just glad that it looks like he will have a happier end to his career. Too bad he couldn't have one last match.

In ROH news:
They signed a short term TV deal in Japan to help drum up some extra attention for the upcoming Japan tour (already sold out for both shows) and for New Japan's US tour later this spring.
Ref Kevin Keegan got fired this weekend by Delirious for sexual harassment of a female roster member.
ROH are in talks with a couple of "as of yet unnamed" cable networks.
