https://youtube.com/watch?v=3awrFaC9q2gWhy hasnt AEW or WWE tried signing Fatu or Hammerstone yet?
Hammerstone would give those dimeless promotions some prestige kek
kidding aside seeing Hammerstone on nickelodeon NXT and AEW Dark(2 weeks after debuting 2 minutes on a Rampage or some shit) would be depressing
Seeing what him and El Jefe are up to is legit pretty fun stuff

Hammerstone, if booked properly, could be a fantastic, credible, longterm main event guy for AEW. He looks like a star, good worker, good talker, works well as a face or a heel, etc. I don't think he'd do as well in WWE/NXT, despite their love of big men. They're all in on Bron, and Alex ticks too many of the same boxes IMO.

The smart thing to do for AEW would be to bring him in and push him to the moon immediately, because unlike a lot of the workers whose asses they strapped a rocket to, he can actually back up and justify such a strong push. Like, bring him in for a "Fobidden Door" TNT title match, have him just maul Scorpio and beat him, put SCU back together with Kaz and Page taking Daniels spot (maybe with Daniels as manager, if he still wants to be in front of the camera), and then give Hammerstone a very dominant run with the title before moving to the heavyweight title picture. This would put Scorpio back into the group he worked best in, put over Hammerstone HUGE and establish him, and also show that anything can happen during "Forbidden Door" matches, instead it just being an excuse to job out a known star.

This being AEW though, how it'd actually shake out is Hammerstone losing clean to Sky and then be doomed to AEW Dark Purgatory and/or ROH. He'd be doing jobs <5 minute to "Body by Videogames" Adam Cole within 6 months.

I find it interesting that the made up characters in the WWE video game story modes are typically better than a lot of actual wrestlers these days.

Cole Quinn.
“Paragon” Jay Pierce.
Hector Flores.
Chase.
All of them are better than people like Dante Martin, Dominick Mysterio, Scorpio Sky, etc.

I’d honestly love to see a wrestling game like 2k22 but with all made up wrestlers. Complete with a Storyline where you can heel turn and all that and it’s not the phoned in voiceover that the real life wrestlers do where it’s stiff.
Some of the best parts of 2k22 is when you’re interacting with the made up wrestlers.

Brooklyn Von Braun also comes to mind, given how much of a heel she was in WWE 2K20's storyline.

I think he would beat Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page but lose to Darby Allen. Just look at Swerve. He should have been put over Darby on Friday but wasn't. They'd also have him feud with the AFO and Andrede for five months with no payoff.

Josie Jane and Meilee Fan are pretty solid too. You'd think Meilee's "hyperactive fangirl" schtick would wear thin after a few interactions, but it's surprisingly endearing.

You are right, but I don't really understand how that gels with Vince's mentality of wanting talent to make something for themselves and grasp the brass ring rather than sit passively and nod along to everything proposed to them.
You are not going to get that to that point if you are not going to be a team player. At the end of the day, Vince answers to networks and is not going to tolerate people who disrupt his plan just so they can satisfy marks who want to live their fantasy self insert booking bullshit

It's been stated countless times that, behind the scenes, the whole "brass ring" notion with Vince was outed as a full-on sham when Matt Cardona got buried alive when he got over all by himself.

At this point, it's well known that either Vince and/or Hunter likes you or you are fucked. And even then, and especially with Vince, you have a set ceiling as Vince has already decided unless you are Roman or Brock or Cena, you won't be allowed to be the face of the company.

Dexter was a HHH pet project and by all accounts a favorite of USA Network. But by all accounts, Vince only saw him as another victim to Roman Reign's ego, especially after Hunter sacrificed Shane Thorne and Dijakovik to Retribution to save Dexter from that fate worse than death gimmick. And that Dexter got buried HARD at the start of the new year in part BECAUSE Vince was pissy that USA Network wanted Dexter as one of the top guys holding the show together as it went full rebuild mode.

The fact that it was fucking Johnny Ace who fired Dexter, was probably an extra level of "fuck you" to Hunter since (as mentioned above) Hunter quickly saw the potential in Dexter and pushed him hard and even paired him with Johnny Gargano. The only consolation one can take with Dexter's firing is that his run in the WWE has probably bought him another 4-5 years on his career and hopefully a spot in AEW, assuming the rumors about him being on Kenny Omega's shit list (due to Sam being BFFs with Nick Adlis, who famously told Omega to go fuck himself when he tried to extort Nick into dropping the NWA title to Omega and resulting in Sam being blackballed from AEW as a result) aren't true.

Harland however was fucked because he looked like a Gobot version of Brock Lesner, especially with those tattoos of his (the puppy print ones in particular) AND started shilling the whole "destroyer of gods" stuff the second the IWC press started talking about him before he even debuted on TV. Unlike Cardona, Harland started shilling himself before his first match and immediately began marketing himself as Brock's equal too with little proof that he was Brock's equal; whereas Cardona marketed himself based upon his character and real life aspects of himself that made him relatable and allowed him to build a rapport with his fanbase.

I'm going to assume that TPTB quickly saw that Harland had an ego thing and that him being made into a bald henchman for Joey Gacy was punishment for thinking above his station before even DEBUTING. I would not be shocked if Harland washes out as a pro wrestler, since he has serious ego issues since he thinks he's hot shit without anything to really back it up and the implication that he's projected, that he doesn't even want to pay any dues and expects to be rocketed to the top automatically based on hype.

Tbh I absolutely agree with Vince McMahon's Brass Ring thing regarding Cesaro, he was very talented but didn't have IT, and unless he radically changed everything about himself and actually took some serious risks to change his character and personality he was never going to be anywhere near a top guy. It seemed like he was too scared to make a radical gimmick change and spent the bulk of his career doing some variation of the "I am a very good wrestler who swings people". As a result he's been gone from the WWE for months and I haven't missed him in the slightest. I haven't even seen AEW fans hype him up either for some strange reason. His contract expired by the way so he could have shown up in AEW within a week if he so desired.
