Hilarious to see the AEW crowd last night treating Cardona v. Edge like it was a dream match.

It's something that would be on a random episode of Smackdown a few years back that was only happening so that someone could do a run-in on Edge to advance his storyline.

A headliner against a jobber to fill 15 minutes of TV time.

At this point I just assume Seth is trying to see how much he can get away with dressing like a fag before someone actually calls him on it.
 
Is there a more useless guy who should have made it than sid? Dude had everything you theoretically needed to make it but never could he had an intimidating presence until he actually had to cut a promo he had a great look but then you had to actually watch him wrestle and he for some reason he refused to actually stick around because of softball basically the definition of a useless wrestler amd probably one of the worst multi time world champions ever

Look man I get the fetish but between the likes of Jade/Rhea, and Chyna/Bass, the former is presented in a far sluttier and seductive manner than the latter's "holy shit this powerhouse of a woman can totally wrestle with the big boys!"

True gentlemen of taste were(and still are) into Corey Everson and the American Gladiator gals anyways.

Not to mention Cardona and Edge were in the same stable ("La Familia") way back in 2007, the former (as an "Edgehead") was no less a jobber than fellow stable member Bam Neely at the time. Cardona only got over when his WWECW (which no one watched) gimmick of Woo Woo Woo finally "got over" thanks to internet memery, but he was a short-lived run Intercontinental/US Champion material at best, definitely not the main event kind.

And Edge still looks like a headliner at age 50, even after injuring his neck (but at least finally losing his late 2000s-early 2010s gut).

You mean you never fantasized about Edge having a match against his goon during his La Familia stable with Vickie, Chavo, Curt Hawkins, & Zack Ryder? Winner getting five minutes alone with Vickie drunk off her ass and horny as a dog in heat?

Tony and AEW audiences sure did.

That said, Cardona's "Long Island Iced-Z" internet show was a novelty of the time and deserving of his praise from the crowds for finding a way to get over despite being held back by WWE.
It was basically the blueprint for what The Young Bucks and Matt Hardy did later on.

Technically he cucked Matt TWICE (first time beating him and briefly costing him a chance to challenge for the IC title even though Cena could have thrown the match since he was forced to do it against his will) and then with a female.

And the later created such a shit storm (especially since they were pushing the whole "Cena is so pure and virtuous Kane will never be able to make him turn heel") that the following week, they had the female wrestler (Eve something) go heel solely so they could have Cena tell her to fuck off and have Matt tell her to fuck off too when she went crawling back to him as far as an intelligence insulting "hommies over hoes" damage control spin, as opposed to having Cena start his descent into heeldom by stealing Matt's crush and the reveal she was working with Kane to corrupt Cena ala Jezabel.

That said, especially in light of Matt's heel work in the indies, they really should have just done a Matt heel turn at Summerslam 2013 with Cena beating Danielson and Matt going heel, stealing the MITB case and cashing in/cheating with Hunter's help to beat Cena for the title and become the new corporate champion. Matt beats Cean a couple of extra times to put him over as a new heel (who would be basically King Joffrey from GOT in terms of Matt's current heel gimmick amped up to eleven) and Hunter/Steph as a combination Tyrion/Cersei trying to tard wrangle Matt as he goes through beating Cena, Cody, Miz, Punk, and finally Daniels at Wrestlemania. Maybe even toss in a variation of the aborted Wyatt/Daniels storyline where the Wyatt family align with Daniels to help him counter Hunter/Steph and their goons (which would let them have Bray retire Big Show and Kane).

We go full inversion with Brodie Lee turning heel on the Wyatt Family instead of Seth turning on Dean/Roman with Brodie adopting his suit/tie persona and doing Kane's gig as GM/henchman for Steph and Hunter once Bray slays Kane/Big Show and Brodie doing a Dark Order-lite gimmick with him recruiting rookie wrestlers to be his corporate drone cult followers and secretly plotting against Hunter/Steph as far as Brodie throwing the match which gets the Authority gang kicked off of TV for a while to sunset the angle. And feuding with Bray with Bray being horrified that Brodie went all city slicker on him to keep Bray grounded.

Brodie gets Seth's career while Seth stays a jobber to the stars with Shield and eventually fucks off AEW to run Dark Order and well... you know the rest of THAT story. Except though in mine, instead of becoming a Seth Rollins/Tyler Black tribute act, Dark Order gets taken over by Preston Vance, who uses his big dick jock energy to turn Dark Order into a new age Varsity Club with him as the new Kevin Sullivan and Seth gets airbrushed out of wrestling history.
