Perhaps over the weekend some internet using intern or employee or whatever will see all this groundswell of hatred for this decision and it will be reversed. Because honestly man if I see Cody accepting Rollins’ challenge after Roman buried him, the WHC and the entire WHC division on Raw and then Cody gets made to look like the biggest fucking doofus in the world, I might just check out until SummerSlam.

There are people who legit were going to get tickets to Mania that aren’t going to go now. Some people are saying they’re gonna SELL their Mania tickets.


This is the most McMahonian booking decision I’ve ever seen and if it’s not fixed it will go down as the WORST decision of the HHH era.
But it truly all leads back to Vince having to unite the titles in 2022. If that never happened, none of this would be happening.

After sleeping on it, everything about is still just so, so bad. Cody looks like shit. Seth looks like shit. That stupid belt he has looks like shit. Rock is inevitably going to look like shit when he gets blown up just by walking down the entrance ramp before the match, and Roman is going to look like shit when he loses to him.

I immediately thought they were doing this for PR in wake of the Vince thing to have Rock go on SportsCenter and Good Morning America with the belt and turn on the charm to distract everyone from the sex trafficking shit and lo and behold Dave pretty much confirmed as much. I know, >Dave, but it's the only real explanation.

I don't see a triple threat happening. It made sense at 30 with the Authority storyline but if they did it now with Cody, to me it would come off as just condescending and kind of sad. The whole thing is a fucking mess. I don't know how anyone could possibly be excited for Seth vs. Cody when the latter absolutely dominated their initial feud.

I also don't see people turning on Rock or shitting on the match during the show. At the end of the day it's still the Rock and everyone is wired to cheer like a Pavlovian retard when his music hits. He's not 2004 Brock Lesnar or Goldberg. At worst I think it will be met with general apathy. I just can't imagine him being booed out of buildings.

I've seen the cope that Cody will be better off beating Rock for the title at SummerSlam or whatever, or on the off chance that Roman wins at Mania, he will have an even bigger "final boss" aura after beating Rock. It's bullshit. The Mania win would mean more than both of those and at this point, they've pretty much killed his character. I just don't give a shit anymore. They might as well have him lose clean to Seth and turn him heel afterwards.

These are the same people who virtue signal and fake morale outrage yet by the end of the day they will still watch the product. They have no leg to stand on.
 
The swerve will be that they are going for a 3 way with Rock, Roman and Cody at Mania. Rock turns heel on Cody and joins Roman's Bloodline bc Roman blackmails Rock bc he knows something about Rock and Vince and coconut dildos. Roman keeps his belt at Mania and strengthens the Bloodline again. At Summer Slam they go for Seth vs Roman to unify the belts. Seth has Cody in his corner as super power duo against the Bloodline. Cody then turns heel on Seth, Seth loses the belt to Roman, Roman has a new mega universal world championship belt so he can beat Bruno's record and as the heels celebrate the Rock unmasks and it is Vince yelling "It was all me, Vince!". Then they powerbomb Johnny Ace through a table bc he threw Vince under the bus.

Right? It's bizarre when you see the same users in this thread, being able to see the funny side with lolcows or even horrorcows in other threads, but throwing the biggest tantrums over Cody Rhodes. That image of him looking like he's about to cry hugging Rock was hilarious. C'mon now.

I'll be the first to admit, I got mad when Drew lost. But I made peace with it pretty quick. It's WWE, it's Sports Entertainment, it's money above all. Dream match-ups with Roman make them money, like it or not.

And why does Cody DESERVE it at all? He doesn't have much of a gimmick, every week he does the same emotional and boring promo, no feud he had besides the one with Brock was interesting (not entirely his fault). Imagine Randy Orton, instead of doing good work with the Legend Killer gimmick, was doing promos on how must win it for Bob Orton. He's getting a push over a meme phrase and nothing else, I feel like.

The narrative when he was on AEW was that he was an overrated midcarder with no substance who got mocked with the whole "ending racism" storyline. What the fuck happened?

In any case, relax and laugh. Or don't and keep posting about how he needs to finish the story NOW NOW NOW! It'll be funny either way.
 
It's fascinating. Has there ever been another instance of somebody forfeiting their WM Main Event spot in less than a week after winning it? One of only a few to win a consecutive Rumble and they drop him for a 51-year-old who's wrestled less than ten times in over a decade. This was after making a huge deal out of the victory too. I just miss things like the 30 day clause and not having regular talent drop dead to people who are never around. I just want some good matches. Cody in this day and age is more capable of having a good match than the Rock is now. Hell, maybe that wasn't the case a decade ago, but Rock is getting winded walking to music now. He'll probably be a ghost until WM and Reigns is already black dad mode himself.

On a side note, what are the Vegas odds of Rock living to 70?

On the sheer amount of roids he's using - if he's all natural I'll eat a shoe - I'd say pretty low. And that's before the whole "Samoans have a higher risk of heart attacks" thing being a factor.

That said he's also insanely wealthy. Much like Vince, he'll probably outlive us all.
 
What sucks is AEW is still worse than any of it. Might just become a TNA viewer at this point.

I’ve finally broken down and gotten a profile picture. I’ve been made fun of and mocked for not having one and I purposely wouldn’t get one because it angered goobers on here and was part of the bit.
