I have no doubt he actually did act as an agent even if they didn't catch him. That said, the whole "Russian" thing in general is rather reminiscent of a previous campaign of this sort.
Taking money from a non-friendly foreign power to act against the benefits of the country you're a citizen of has uglier names than this, though.
It is actually legal, but you're supposed to register as a foreign agent if you intend to act as one. There are noncriminal reasons for doing so, but it really should be on your record if you're doing it.
Kodzo had way worse in his actions than either of these two things and it would have been nice to see him prosecuted successfully for basically raping a dude and driving him to suicide with abuse.
Did the aggravated sodomy charges ever amount to anything? Apparently his weird psycho cult had a ritual where you anally raped someone to advance in the ranks.

No. It all seemed to disappear into these charges. I don't understand why he couldn't be prosecuted for both, or why they wouldn't prosecute him for both.
Gazi was a huge grifter and troll. I'm not surprised he took money from the commies, I'm surprised he managed to have a secret gay rape cult no one knew about until one of his victims blew his own head off. The feds must have known. They'd been watching him for years. The whole thing is really smelly.

I don't think this is a meeting where Gazi introduces himself with a pair of twink guards but it was clear when he did show up the guy had charisma enough to run a cult. The organization was full larp with weekly book clubs, self defense classes, opsec courses all taught on Facebook. Had a few weeks of stuff but it was all lost in a drive crash and then the organization crashed after his arrest. So much potential lost like tears in the rain.

Gazi was sentenced to five years probation for his aiding Russian propaganda case, and his case for kidnapping, aggravated sodomy, aggravated assault, false imprisonment and human trafficking was fucking dropped because it was "languishing."

From the Tampa Bay Times article:
I read that as the witnesses against him were too cracked out/cagey/"black eyewitness guy" for their testimony to hold up in court. Which is probably no surprise given a big chunk of his circle toward the end were recruited from the homeless.
He still has to keep his nose clean for the next five years, plus he's apparently been in either federal or state prison since his arrest in 2022 until this recent decision, so he's already done some time. In the meanwhile, all his old content has been deleted and his "movement" has been completely broken up, and I don't think he's going to be able to pull off the same black radical shtick he did before now that the tides are starting to turn against DEI/social justice shit. So it's not like he got off completely scot-free.
This arrest and jail time has robbed him of his greatest (and really only) asset -- his online clout/notoriety -- which is the worst punishment of all for someone like Gazi. Now he'll basically have to start over - he might even have to get a job! So I'd say he still got buck broken by the system in the end.
(No mention of him transitioning as was reported back in 2023. Wonder whatever happened with that?)
