Absolute massacre in the comments of Giant Bomb's Atomic Heart QL with over 50% of the comments deleted. If you enjoy watching groups of people probably in the late 30s or 40s arguing about which video game is more problematic, check it out.

Atomic Hearts themes are both anti-soviet Union and anti-Putin. The fact that the Ukraine government and video game journalists are calling for the game to be banned because it was made by Russians shows how xenophobic they truly are. The Atomic Hearts drama might not be as funny as Hogwarts legacy with trannies resorting to literal terrorism. But the atomic hearts boycott an even bigger failure.

The idea is that money generated from the game will generate money for Russia (through rent, salaries, taxes and possibly direct donations from the studio) that will go directly into Russia's war chest. If the game does well (and it looks like it is) and Russia even gets a small piece of it, it would be a substantial amount of money (possibly tens of millions). It doesn't matter the actual theme of the game because the theme is separate from the money trail (just like Hogwarts Legacy)

The Hogwarts Boycott was massively successful in driving a stake through the heart of games journalism, in particular Giantbomb - because now you can always put pressure on them to not cover something because of "problematic associations". Will they cover Diablo 4 - which is being released by the fratboy company rape center Blizzard? How can they cover Atomic Heart? Will they not cover Call of Duty (and turn down that massive ad money) because of how problmatic Activision and/or Bobby Kotick are? Will they stop covering FFXIV because of how problematic FFVI is going to be (no black people in 16th century Europe, which is why most sites didn't cover Kingdom Come : Deliverance btw) or Square's push to use NFTs?

They do not have a leg to stand on to cover Atomic Heart and will not have a leg to stand on for most other divisive releases until Fandom finally pulls the cord on Giantbomb's video content and neuters the podcast.

Working and paying taxes in any nation that... oooh, so this is why troons don't have jobs, live on welfare and produce nothing of value, that way they don't contribute anything to the oppressive system of the country they're living in.

Atomic Heart will go down as one of the recent examples of a unique game that attempts to want to have fun, even with the themes that are being portrayed in the game that mirror the supposed climate of current news.

I don’t even care for the politics or the war surrounding it. The interest for this game is due to the fact that it looks and plays like it’s actually fun, and if anything, they’re just finding things to complain about while they’ve never actually played the game to understand why it looks intriguing.

Even more fun over on the Giant Bomb subreddit as ex-GB staff Abby announces her Patreon which includes Discord access for $5/month and music playlists for $15. For $20 she'll burn you a physical CD of the aforementioned playlist (pretty sure this is fucking illegal but w/e) and for $25 she'll remove "Mambo No. 5" from the CD. For big spenders you can get a thank you card for $100/month and "custom pottery" for $250/month. Be quick, because there's only 15 slots available for the pottery and you're going to be pissed off if you miss it.

Unfortunately, the people of Reddit aren't impressed and recommend she get a real job instead of e-begging. Discussion eventually pivots to the unsustainable Patreon bubble and the obviously sexist implications of not giving women money for making you shitty mix CDs.

I clicked on the Patreon link and she really looks like Topkeks trashier sister. I'm not being dismissive, it's just that between the two of them the only difference is Body Type A or B. The hairstyle and un-fun stays the same.

edit: I guess she's a lesbian now as well?

I suppose the patreon supports her twitch streaming but still you really get nothing of benefit for subscribing to this thing. No podcast or bonus content. Just a shitty spotify playlist and discord access. Worse than any of the ex GB guys patreons by far.

It's also supporting a streamer who has apparently only streamed 6 times in the last 30 days.

Which is to say not really a streamer. Pretty ballsy to launch a "give me free money pls" Patreon during a major economic downturn and pretend like you're doing us the favor for launching it.

EDIT - Fucking 6 two hours streams - for a grueling 12 hours of streaming work in 30 days lmao. A normal person would work 160 hours in that time span and a streamer would probably have even more.

Absolutely milking the shit out of the GB sub.

Matt Rorie is leaving Giant Bomb this Friday. Said he got a new job, writing was probably on the wall since Jason and Voidburger were let go.
It just seems like more people are leaving GB than actually making content for the podcast that was supposed to be about GB. Every time I come on this thread, it just looks like nothing has changed.

Ahh Jason Schrier , for better or worse he is one of the only "journos" one could consider a "games journalist". Nevertheless, he is a giant faggot.

Look, I'm gonna say, this is a fair way to put it. You can boycott whatever you like for whatever reason but if you are the type to go full on for workers rights, then you ought to have some consistency and also think about the developers of said games...

Oh wait...

Guess you gotta suck the tranny dick regardless.

This from the same site that spent the entire PS360 gen shitting on Japan and had Jason Schrier openly shitting on Japanese creators.

Also by the same author a few months ago in which she says JRPGs need to be attacked when they're not diverse enough.

"Workers rights unless you work for Warner Brother's subsidiary Portkey Games"
