Did a quick Google search for GamerGate. Found this one webcomic that comments on GamerGate shit. Recent strip.

Whooooa fuck! Dammit, someone really should put a sign on that slope. Fucking slippery.

I used to be on board with this but it's too difficult to have a rational discussion with anyone involved.

I think it's funny that these spergs are afraid that if SJW's "win" Gamergate, it'll affect Anime, as if the Japanese are going to care one way or another what a bunch of screeching Americans and Europeans have to say about anything, or as if the internet doesn't exist for finding original versions of films and television shows.
The only possible way SJW's could affect decision making in Japan is if they assassinate somebody, and I don't think the Ayatollah is interested in putting out bounties on mangaka in the name of Social Justice related to anything but offenses towards the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and the one true religion and last revelation of Our Blessed Lord Allah.

EDIT: Also I'm pretty sure literally no anime or manga is actually "banned" in the legal sense in the United States. If it is it's probably lolicon, and fucking LMAO if you're trying to defend lolicon.
Nope. Even lolicon is legal in the US. Most publishers would rather be caught masturbating in the bathroom to pictures of Justin Bieber by Pope Francis than put shit like Kodomo no Jikan into circulation, but much to the delight of Animated James and @Akemi, you can spank the monkey to your hearts delight to hentai2read.com's collection of elementary school lesbians without legal repercussions in the People's Republic of Trumpistan.

The cringiest part of gamergate for me definitely has to be when some unrelated famous person (literally anyone with 300+ followers on Twitter basically) makes some kind of commentary that is even tangentially related to video games or social justice and they've decided they're on "their side"

Like when South Park came out with the "Stunning and Brave" episode you go a lot of GG spergs claiming that the creators of South Park were "obviously" part of GG and would make a gamergate episode in the future.

Like I think the whole thing has been a hilarious shitfest of a bunch of incompetent social pariahs and sleazy conmen/conwomen debating who is the biggest sperg, but in the grand scheme of things it's not that interesting or exciting enough to even mention in casual conversation.

Someone name-dropped Gamergate in an anime dub for Prison School, and not in a flattering way.

The response to this has been, well...

That was so forced it was autistic in its own right; there was no context for that to be mentioned. All he said was "I was asked to run a couple errands, not that it's any of your business", nothing vidya related was in that exchange.

I guess the excuse is that they're in an arcade?

I'm guessing that it's supposed to be her taking his dismissive attitude to mean that he maybe hates girls who like video games? Makes enough sense to me if you assume she doesn't understand that interrogating someone you barely know out of the blue will likely make them annoyed at you for reasons that have nothing to do with you personally.

I think in the original script she was talking about him not using proper honorifics or something like that. So the line is a huge departure from the original.
