There's also the fact that a lot of SJWs don't give a shit about minorities or feminism, and merely hop on the bandwagon to satisfy their ego and "belong" to something. They are cunning enough to appear sincere, even when they aren't. Gamergaters, on the other hand, legitimately think their games are super duper important. That games affect people in real life.

That makes them more pathetic; they're not even pretending, they are 100% serious about defending their autistic obsession with a burning passion.

Executive summary of Shirtgate: Some douchenozzle showed up at work wearing a shirt that wasn't really in the best of taste. People in general were not amused.

Now, there's a good chance you might be asking yourself "yeah, that was a dumb incident, who in the right mind would give shit about that almost a year later?", and if so, congratulations, you just might be a normal person.

But if you feel this is but one head of the vile seething hydra of Social Justice Warriory and a grave injustice against precious freedoms of scientists that we shall never, ever forget lest political correctness shall run amok, then, by all means, hashtag gamergate.

I think it's funny that these spergs are afraid that if SJW's "win" Gamergate, it'll affect Anime, as if the Japanese are going to care one way or another what a bunch of screeching Americans and Europeans have to say about anything, or as if the internet doesn't exist for finding original versions of films and television shows.


But I can still hope it does have an effect, as the tears of sperging weeaboos will be especially delectable.

EDIT: Also I'm pretty sure literally no anime or manga is actually "banned" in the legal sense in the United States. If it is it's probably lolicon, and fucking LMAO if you're trying to defend lolicon.
 
These people (on either side) are obsessed to an utterly obnoxious degree.

I think it's much less about video games or "muh journalism ethics" and more about each side's raging egomania, self-righteousness, hypocrisy, and hatred of whoever disagrees with their stupid dogma.
