It's been interesting keeping up on the news on this. Though I have fallen behind because I was a bit busy going out and learning things. This is off topic but is there a way to get in touch with Hotwheelz, I have a question about a certain chatroom and I think I read that he is a member here? You may PM me if you want.

It's crap like this that blows my mind at how screwed up anti-GG truly is.

Reading it all, one has to wonder just what is wrong with the anti-GG crowd in thinking anyone against them is "a white male on the inside". Plus the nepotism and the guy that made the downvote brigade, the latter is one reason why reviews aren't all that trustworthy, especially if said votes were all influenced by one figure and not actually playing the game or looking it up.

You the hilarious thing now? It's called GamerGate and yet I can't remember the last time anyone brought up Games in this marathon clusterfuck. Yeah, we got game journalists and probably some zombie fascist dictators in there too all decrying gamers are dead; and we got game developers hopping in and hopping out having trouble deciding whether to support the people that buy their games, or support the people that write about their games... but no one is fucking talking about the games themselves!

Honestly, I do wish people could just be at least civil with each other when discussing this instead of name calling, death threats, ect. The fact that discussions have become thing thing were having a different opinion than someone is treated like you shot them or something is just ridiculous. You can disagree with someone and still show them respect, or enjoy something they make, ect. Its a problem with game journalism, something that I don't think many people take that too seriously anyway. Its not an actual war or anything. I think that's something people on both sides of the argument need to remember

The problem here is that with a lot of the anti-GG people, they use the term "straight white male gamer" with the same inflection that the Soviets treated the term "kulak". Basically, instead of a minority of people within said demographic, they use stories as a justification for purging/trying to purge others from discussion. And that's no good.

It doesn't matter how many times it shown that 8-chan/Reddit/GamerGate/Misogynerds always report, block, censor and delete doxxing they still get blamed. No-one knows who actually posted the original doxx but Brianna is loving the attention as per usual.

Edit: And it gave Kotaku many delicous clickbait pennies.

You know I thought of a slightly scientific way of showing who is pro women here (trolls aside). If a woman were to make two identities, one pro-gg and one anti-gg then comment on the opposing side's vids, blogs, article etc you could compare which side allows women an opinion. It'd have to be done in a completely balanced way with the same levels of politeness, humour and passion etc. Log everything including being blocked, banned, having comments deleted or altered, harassment etc.

Try and pick out the out-of-place review. It's hard, and it comes from way out of no where, but I think your wolf-trained eagle-eyes might be able to spot it.

Edit: Oh, and according to Jezebel people who support #Gamergate aren't Crusaders for Ethics, they're a hate group.

Now this is all baseless conjecture, but why has Gawker media published 3 articles on Gamergate, on 3 different sites, in less than a week? Maybe it's because Kotaku is starting to cost Nick Denton money, or terrifying him that advertisers might pull out due to his staff, and he's trying to scold everyone for it?

Because that worked great for Gamasutra.

Oh that is delicious. I love Bayonetta. She's on my "to cosplay" list. What I get from the games about the character is that she's extremely powerful, agile, slightly sadistic, incredibly flamboyant and completely sexually confident. I have no problems with any of these things. I enjoy these things in my escapism.
