I think unfortunately the people they have upset is a minority. They will most likely handle this internally (keep him on their shit list and boot him if he fucks up again) and not make a public statement to draw attention. Remember, they still sell to grandmas and Joe Sixpack who will scratch their heads when they hear that them there Game Ear Gate.
You are correct, sort of. The big difference is the Alienware connection. You don't insult your target demographic. That's the key. Without that it's just some asshole spouting off, but gamergate is becoming more of an issue of not taking the crap anymore from quite a few areas - gaming press, SJWs, etc. Yeah, most gamers are technically savvy and just build their own boxes, but Alienware survives for a reason.

Yeah, she really is of no relevancy in this aside from probably knowing some corrupt journo's within gaming journalism (which is of course, not much since she only wants attention if the image is to go by). As for Moot being robbed of that trophy, perhaps he could just be given a consolation prize.
