He spends half the fucking video just attacking IA's username instead of his points. Can someone find his youtube channel? The uploader said they're not the person in the video.

To be fair, I don't think anyone took gaming journalism seriously as real journalism, at least not until recently. Video games as a medium has been evolving very fast, what with it being considered an art now. This is really kind of the first time people have been expecting real professional clout and integrity from gaming journalism, so I'm not at all surprised that it's been pretty lackadaisical up until now.
I know I've never listened to reviews on games. If it looked interesting to me from screenshots, trailers, ect, I buy it. And if I enjoy it, who cares what the "rating" is?

Actually "Lets Play" videos have been a lot better at giving people an idea of what a game is like, and are more effective in boosting a game's sales (if what I've heard is correct). If you ask me, reviews and review scores are going the way of the dodo. What that means for video game journalism, I couldn't begin to tell you.

Actually I think what he was getting at is that his girlfriend is Pinkie Pony, who is a massive attention whore. I would fucking love to see the kinds of conversations they have.

That's why I like Yahtzee: he doesn't mess with ratings (for which he has been criticized by some viewers) and instead focuses on what likes/dislikes about the game mechanics and story.

Lucariwhoa?

The same person who told someone he was gonna rape him up the ass with a knife?

[Also: his girlfriend is responsible for trying to get a guy deported for being an illegal alien (he's not) because his wife contradicted her story about how she totally almost suicided, u guize, but got better than anyone else ever.]

Yes, that is Lucariwhoa in the video. An SJW he is. Checking his Twitter, he had a conversations with a certain person who was involved with Depression Quest.

Didn't either Milo or IA even say that in the leaked emails between the journalists that they just needlessly shit on all those Youtubers and LetsPlay people because they do a better job at reviewing games then they do?

The other half of the video he spends mocking him for not having a girlfriend when he does. Now as a man I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure one of the main points about feminism is not to use girlfriends as a shield for your insecurities or being in a relationship with someone just to increase your social status among other men.

I wouldn't know, Milo and IA are annoying and way too far up their own asses, so I tend not to follow them closely. I wouldn't be surprised if there were journalists who didn't like youtubers or lets-players though, because I'm sure there's plenty of reason to from a writer's perspective, and not just because they do a better job at giving gamers an idea of what a game will be like. My guess is that they might feel like screen capturing gameplay footage and recording voiceover is incredibly easy and lazy, whereas they feel they had to work hard to get to where they got, fighting tooth and nail to get noticed. Something to that effect.

It does give a better idea though because you can see all of the pros and cons of the game as they play. And it's easy to tell when a person is struggling due to shitty mechanics and when they're just DSP. Considering all of the "perks" and "publicity" they give their friends I doubt they had to be all that competitive to get to where they are. It's an obviously incestuous industry that absolutely defines the phrase "It's not what you know. It's who you know". I bet there are a ton of amazing journalists with a real passion for gaming and ethical standards to with it who never got a chance because they weren't friends with the editor etc.

Also, if you haven't watch someone play Fatal Frame 2 and scream like a girl then you haven't lived. But then I do have a massive girl boner for survival horror... If only video games had female protagonists... :tomgirl:

So one thing that came into my mind is the question: Can gaming journalists be, yknow, politcal?

And I say yes... So long as they do not try to claim that their views are neutral.

For instance, Kotaku should just come out and say "Politically, we lean more towards the left and like to focus on issues such as feminism and stuff".

There. NOW you can go give Anita the shillings and stuff. I still wont read it... but you are now much more ethical then you were!

But that disclaimer took you so loooooonnnnnnggggg to write, don't you know that Kotaku is full of very busy, professional people who have other things to concern themselves with.

Course, theres still the problem of Kotaku writers sleeping around with devs and the like, as well as feeding money TO Anita (who may I remind you gets 'offended' by any potrayle of women in video games just so she can sell her dvds!) but at that point it would be par for the course.

Or like okay, we all know that Fox News shifts around information to suit them, right? Well, yeah, so if you have a problem with it... dont watch it! I know I dont!
