Yeah Jontron has been on record of his dislike of Zoe since before Burgergate started. It's not surprising he's against her publicly. Although it is surprising his best friend Egoraptor has defended her.

It's been reported Youtubers are treated less than equal by print journalists. So youtube guys are naturally jumping on this for publicity. At least the honest ones.
 
Regarding wish-fulfillment roles and male/female characters: I played a ton of Doom (and Heretic, Hexen, etc) when I was a kid, and despite being of the lady persuasion I had no problem fitting into the skin of the Doom Guy. Female options were okay, but in a way, the Doom Guy had just enough personality to enable anyone to have fun in his role. Kind of like Bella Swan in terms of the perfect audience stand-in, only ... you know, not shitty.

As for Kotaku et al, apparently they're bloggers when they financially support Quinn, journalists when they defend her. Convenient, that.

I would speculate that Zoe's wild weight gain was caused by antidepressants, of which weight gain is a common side effect.
 
Just remember, these images look like a lot (I mean, that's a few dozen people and a big image), but that's just a handful. There are more, of course, but these psychotically vitriolic SJWs are far from being a majority group with the weight to force their hypocrisy.
 
SJWs cannot agree with the actual oppressive behaviour because it isn't about sexism against women. It's sincerely sexism against men.

Most households have gaming systems now, and just about everybody walking down the street are going to know who Mario is. But if you stop any of those people in the street and ask them how many indie games they've played this year, you're likely to get a response like "what does indie mean" or "does Flappy Bird count?"

Because you're right. You don't want to spend your escapism time playing a preachy game as a 20-something-year-old fat transwoman dragonkin, and let's face it, neither does the general populace. What they DO want is a game that's fun and a character that tickles their fantasies as they play. That's why companies like Nintendo are so vastly successful. They cater to the general populace and not the niche crowd that is tumblr SJWs.

So yeah. The market you mentioned might grow bigger since there IS money in it, but it will never dominate.

If there's something that should be hyped, it should be this one, I think.

How DQ even made it to Steam still baffles me. I've been tempted several times to try it out just to see how bad it is, but...just no. I'd rather play other games than waste my time on that one.

Kotaku (specifically Tolito) addressed the Quinnspiracy publicly

He's agreeing that journalists cannot contribute to Zoe's Patreon, and that they have to mention a personal relationship upfront in their articles.

Polygon did something similar by saying that staff need to publicly disclose on their staff pages who they're contributing to on Patreon, and to post in their stories the duration of support for them. However they didn't feel that contributing should be a firing offense because it's "similar to preordering a AAA video game" which is a p/r metaphor they pulled straight out of their ass.

the actual shit that's going on is incredibly underground. i wish there was a way to show this to a mainstream audience, not just the inner-circles on 4chan, reddit, tumblr and here.

I really hope incidents like these show how hypocritical the SJWers can be. These people aren't looking for equality. They are people who are looking for a cause, any cause, to fight over because that is now what their whole identity is about. They're bullies who disguise themselves as victims. Shit is crazy yo.
