Sure, she may or may not have cheated on her boyfriend. That's between them and God. Lots of other, bigger celebrities and politicians have done much, much worse, and never received death threats. Just my two cents on the thing.

It got out of control.

When people tried to discuss that bit, they got censored and banned. People figured the gaming journalism had something to hide. Then gaming journalism insulted the shit out of them until they had literally created their own enemy.

In the meantime, 4chan is ded.

Adam Baldwin isn't really a gamer. And yet he's a huge figurehead in this movement. Even if he was it wouldn't matter since you don't need to be a part of a movement to support it. Just like you don't need to be a feminist to support women getting the right to vote. Or an atheist to support separation of church and state and evolution

You don't need to be a gamer to support journalistic integrity. Just someone who is willing to put their opinion out and who's unwilling to back down from SJWs.

Turns out that a marketing company offered a massive :ruse: on the Emma Watson thing, in an attempt to censor the internet by shutting down 4chan.

Watch them take the credit when 4chan implodes in a couple of weeks.
 
Why do SJW warriors have to destroy the things I enjoy? The Zoe Quinns and Anna Sarkeesians want to neuter my games and now they want to censor my Spider-Woman comics. Now they have completely ruined 4chan. These people have no interest in any of these mediums. They don't observe or contribute to them. Why don't they attack shitty heavily marketed over sexualized pop music videos? Why don't they worry about shitty over sexualized tv shows? Why don't they attack the people who actually abuse women (Ray Rice and other pro athletes/celebrities)? I do not understand why they make such effort over something so trivial.
I guess thats all I have to say about this SJW nonsense.
 
I have notice a pattern of almost hostile takeover of somewhat niche interests, and gradual destruction of freedom of speech and freedom art expression, all the while serious social issues of equality are ignored by these scumbags. Gamergate has literally ran parallel in time with the Ray Rice/NFL abuse scandal and there seems to be a more concentrated effort to protect the persona of some stupid whore with pink hair and bi polar disorder than to make a effort to expose the corruption and atrocities of the NFL. It blows my fucking mind.

I think one of the main reasons why these people are even a problem in the first place is because of the men who work within the comics and video game industry. Most guys who end up working within these "nerdy" fields probably weren't the most popular kid in school, so they're living out some kind of delayed adolescence in adulthood. These guys are willing to do anything for the attention of women, no matter how hideous those women might be, inside and out.

Because it isn't about fighting for a cause; it's about fighting battles you can win. People have been talking about how corrupt the NFL is for years but the league always manages to shut these people down (ex. NFL and concussion research). It's an established system that no amount of "quirky" kids with rainbow hair and thick framed glasses are going to overpower. However, this video game industry thing is young and impressionable - and mega profitable. If you manage to get in good before it has the time to mature then you can be the one to set the rules.

Sarkeesian and her lot couldn't care less about the atrocities in the NFL or the horrific human rights violations against women in India. They aren't part of their market. This is all about money to them and having a growing, pliable audience willing to support them monetarily.

This should be echoed to them constantly, consistently, to every source that will listen; until they can prove it otherwise. We can prove many times over we aren't by the narrative they've pushed us into, we HAVE nothing to lose by continuing to talk and dig. They have everything to lose the longer it goes on, and no real way to deal with it that doesn't put them deeper and deeper into a hole.

They almost portrayed gamers as misogynistic immature rape enablers. Might as well portray them as freedom violating hypocritical con artists
 
So, I've been keeping an ear to this one since it was "the Quinnspiracy" and it has kind of been a long ride ever since (more than a month, actually). I think right now, I'm pretty much sold on the fact that the current state of the industry and the people running it is/are crap, and there needs to be a change with regard to how we hold game journalists to ethical standards, but I'm still not convinced that #GamerGate is not at least in part set on eliminating opinions in game journalism that they don't agree with.

I've found that a lot of them will try to deny this, at least until they're pressed about it, and then they admit that they feel that they no longer want their games to be "politicized". From the beginning, this whole movement has been moved by an undercurrent of blind, seething hatred for SJWs. Now, considering the behavior of a lot of SJWs, it's perfectly understandable, but it's not very good for when you need to look at something fairly and rationally.

I don't know. I feel like if #GamerGate gets their way and shuts down Kotaku, et al, it's just going to be the reverse of what we had. Anyone who dares ask for more female representation will just be shouted down, or if a journalist writes about it there's going to be a witch hunt, and they'll dig up whatever dirt they can find to use against them to get them fired or even just get the whole website shut down like they're doing now.
