It has been noted before that Anita always gets death threats whenever her popularity goes down, what a coinkydink?

Also I believe that this threat was sent to the school instead of Anita herself so either Anita and her followers are getting more desperate/dumber or it really was a legitimate threat in which case the guy who made it was a moron, either way it will be interesting if the authorities get involved with this

The USU campus police already said they were asking for the FBI's help. Either some angry /v/irgin gets v& or Anita gets outed as a con artist and criminal. I will accept either outcome as quality popcorn.
 
I really honestly don't know what to say about these recent developments. I think I'm just going to take a break from all of this and just chill. I have been doing nothing but reading both the #gamergate and #stopgamergate2014 hashtags and just really, I feel that this whole thing is somewhat petty.

I'm still for transparency in journalism and what not though.

I've just been observing as well, and I really don't see what the problem is with developing a god damn ethics policy and following it. Seriously. At its core ethics is about what is and what is not acceptable, every website dealing with news should have one.

Has any of the news websites in question finally developed one? (besides the escapist)

Not news, but Twitch and Steam have adopted a transparency kind of thing.

Or whoever did it (and, going by motives, I consider your two suggestions equally likely) used TOR and unless they monumentally fucked up will never get caught.
