I've admittedly only seen one of his videos, and I didn't even finish it. He's pretty boring to me, sure, but being boring doesn't seem like it's enough to make a lolcow. Just mediocre.

Of course, like I said, I only saw one and didn't really feel inclined to start watching more so I'm not the best judge.
 
I think what people get annoyed about, and what makes him steep into lolcow territory (not as much as other people but subjectively you can say he can be), is his superiority or complex he has about himself about a culture that has been utterly commodefied. He speaks as if he is an authority of what is sexist, racist, or what have you in Japan, and we all know his drama with Kamiya where he totally white knights for no damn reason. He's not Japanese and he's kind of oblivious to any sort of criticism. AKA typical weeabo. I think he uses the excuse that he was in the JET program that he is somehow an expert/PhD level scholar on the social constructs behind Japanese culture.

Well Goomba is a weeby type but he seems to be a little less... serious than David-kun here. David-kun is the type that wants to be more Japanese than the actual Japanese. He's the type that would order natto just to show how much of a Japanese spirit he has and then choke it down because he can't stand it.

I wouldn't say Gaijin Goomba is a lolcow but he is certainly a cringy guy making garbage clickbait videos (like MatPat). If i had to say, these are probably his 2 worse videos:


In this video Gaijin says Japan isn't racist, they simply don't know about the outside world. In his own words "Japan treats the foreign much like children. They seriously don't know any better." It's a bad video because Japan is so racist/xenophobic that the United Nations had to tell to calm down, and he is an american weeabo trying to defend them.


This clickbait thumbnail kills any chance of taking him seriously. He got so much backlash that he reuploaded the video with a different name but it still got hate. Soon after he removed the video (That was posted on game theory's channel LOL!) and pretended this never happened.

The UN telling Japan it is racist while having Saudi Arabia on the human rights committee just shows that they're massive lolcows themselves.

I don't really like the way that racism seems to take priority over corruption and repression as the main human rights issue. Nations like Japan and Hungary aren't necessarily open to foreign influences, quite rightly in my view, but they won't make people disappear if they want to dispute this.

He's displays most of the behaviors of a lolcow, but hasn't quite made the final step. IIRC he has a lot of crossover with MatPat and a few other almost-cows, basically a clickbait creator crossover. Going to go looking for it, but for now, my favorite clickbaity video from him. The vocaloid bit always get a good chuckle.


Edit: I stand corrected, turns out him and MatPat work on the same channel, providing different types of content.
 
I've tried to watch him a few times over the years. Sometimes he's insightful but you gotta swim through a mile of shit vids and boring tangents to get there.

I wouldn't consider him a lolcow but he's definitely a cringe-lord

No but it did happen on New Years day which is the major holiday in Japan and equal more or less to Christmas over here. As stated in the Logan Paul thread when this broke in Japan people were outraged although the anger wasn't at all westerners, just him. There were calls to kick him out of the country and never let him back in.

Goombah on the other hand seems to think that his time teaching English and hiding in his apartment makes him an expert on all things Japanese. He's just a weeaboo who's realized that most folk don't know dick about Japan so he can say whatever he wants and his followers will listen to him.

Had he said Japan would not find peace without punishing him, I'd believe it, but that wasn't enough for Jihads.

He's just being alarmist because Glorious Nippon has been besmirched. Last time I heard Logan Paul had been barred from the country for like 7 years or something. It's done. Get over it. He's not going back any time soon. Japan has already forgotten about it so long as you don't bring it up.
 
It has been a while that this thread has been active so I thought I share a couple things, first game exchange has left being apart of The Game Theorists Youtube channel in June 2018 and is now only being shown on Gaijin Goomba's main channel apprently due to changes in YouTube itself:

My issue with Gaijin Goomba is that he thinks that Japanese people are an alien species that are somehow different than us lowly humans. Granted their cultural rules are different, but that's it. They're just people.

What made me dislike him is this:


He mentions how a Japanese family was super uncomfortable with him, a random guy, trying to force himself into them. I mean, wouldn't you? One thing is being friends, another is someone, out of nowhere, forcing themselves into your family uninvited. It's creepy and unconfortable as hell. Anywhere.

Granted they "hosted" him. But that doesn't meant that they will want to be related to him long term.

They didn't tell him to fuck off because that's rude for the japanese, so they politely tried to avoid him so he would get the hint . Yet he thinks it was because some japanese bullshit "tatamae" or something. And he admitts that he tried to force himself into them for months until they gave in.

And then he explains how he basically forced himself into other Japanese people.

I believe him when he says some Japanese people are racists. But maybe, just maybe, some of them just didn't like him? And thinking the Japanese are just waiting for you to enter their "tamamae" and conquer their "kokoro" and earn their trust through rituals or something is delusional?

Just saying.
