People have said "But it's only just had a rebuild after the fire", yes it did however it was a partial rebuild not a full tear down and it also had issues before that the first would not have helped, combine that with the crap that survived the first that both Chris and Barb brought back to the house include bags of wet cloth and the associated fungus and insect life contained within, combine that with Barb and Chris's poor general housekeeping the house is almost back to the state it was in shortly before the fire.

The house might be salvageable, but the material cost likely isn't worth it nor the time to do it unless you where doing it yourself as a cheap place to refurbish and live in or rent / flip.

The fungus could be dealt with with a full-tent ozone treatment. It oxidizes and kills the fungus. Run the ozone long enough and it denatures the dead mold into a rot-resistant form that is basically inert as long as you are good at keeping future moisture out.

Actually, ozone instantly gets rid of ammonia on contact. In terms of damage to materials, yes some may have been damaged but probably not enough for it to be a structural issue. Mostly it would be just replacing carpeting.

I know it's gone on a couple of weeks but do we have more proof that barb has been moved out or the house is for sale/got sold. Chris getting worried about money makes me think he believes so.

I don't know, when I saw hoarder houses it usually went beyond the floor. But maybe the hoarderism we attirubute to Charb is overestimated.

No it's fairly well documented in the house tour videos, Chris's area of the house was the cleanest or tied with bob's for that honour.

From what I recall Bob had a small room to himself that he had his music in and spent most of his later year in there, but the kitchen was vile - Think of the worst student house you have ever seen and times it by a few orders of magnitude.

As for the damage I'm still in the camp of it's going to have to come down but it wont be a single cause it will be multiple factors mounting making it cheaper to get rid of, let alone the local infamy the place has I can see it getting torn down just for that to be honest.

I kinda understand it. My old man did it for 35 years and loved every minute of it. The open road and trucker culture was huge in the 70s and a lot of it I feel like maybe stemmed from that.

Not so much after multiple gas crises and everybody completely dropping the act of pretending to care about their jobs and their jobs pretending to care about them. Maybe we all have higher standards now, idk
 
14BLC will sell for under market value to a bunch of immigrants or a white trash family. The most interesting thing that will come of it being sold will be the photos or 3D walkthrough.

heck even earlier in Christory, Cole Smithey made it clear that Bob is a monster that furthered isolated Barbara from her kids from previous marriage. and Barbara might of done the same with Bob and his kids from previous marriage which led to the fact that only 1 of Bob's kids bothered to attend the funeral.


all in all.. Barbara is likely in a point in life where she doesnt really have anyone to call as family (thats outside of Prison)
those who approached Barbara and took care of her after the arrest of Chris, did it out of sheer pity
and probably would best leave her at a nursing home as soon as possible...
since i mean... its not really something distant relatives would want to be associated to relatives who are guilty of incest.

just like how theres families who dont want to associate themselves with their relatives who are serial killers

While I do agree with the majority of points you made in this post, I think there's something that needs to be talked about here. Just because Chris did all that stuff for the trolls to point and laugh at, we need to think about the times Barb or Bob tried to steer Chris in the right direction. With the letters Bob wrote to Chris, it seems as if he genuinely wanted him to succeed in life. Barb on the other hand has always been vindictive, isolating, and smothering to Chris (listen to "Mother" by Pink Floyd).
I don't think that it was 100% Chris's fault for isolating the Chandler's from the rest of the family - I think it was a collaborative effort from all three members. Although Bob (seemed) to mean good, his personality alone couldn't make up for his severely autistic son and his wife that (allegedly) tried to sleep with her relatives husband. Having an autistic kid is okay and even in the eighties I don't think that's something that would ostracize you from the family (especially if Chris were to just keep to himself playing his Game Boy or whatever).

Harriet and Tom are Barbs sister and brother in law though. Wayne is either her brother or that brother's son. Not that distant in the grand scheme of things.

Harriet and Tom had police tell Chris to fuck off from their home after they found out why he was kicked out also. If they now have influence over Barb, then Chris is royally screwed.

since Bob and Barb arent open to criticism of any kind
even if its directed at Chris.


but yah Barb was weird. even as early as Emily arc or Ivy arc.
Chris said Barbara was jealous that Chris is getting closer with another woman aside from her.
