Ford Motor Company filed a US patent application that shows autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles could potentially repossess themselves if their owners miss lease or loan payments.

The idea of self-driving cars repossessing themselves might sound dystopian, but it is not surprising that automakers are considering this technology to ensure payment. Repossession is a common practice, and as we've described recently, cracks are beginning to form in the subprime auto loan market (read: here & here).

While this patent application was first filed in Aug. 2021 and formally published on Feb. 23, it could be years before Ford implements such a technology.

The patent, titled "Systems and Methods to Repossess a Vehicle," explains how a future lineup of Ford vehicles would be capable of "[disabling] a functionality of one or more components of the vehicle."

If a driver misses a car payment, the vehicle will disable air conditioning, radio, GPS, and cruise control to irritate the driver.

If the owner misses more payments, the repossession cycle will worsen. The car would emit an "incessant and unpleasant sound." Worse, the vehicle might lock out the driver on certain days until payments are made.

And still, if the lockout doesn't work and payments are missed, the vehicle could drive to a safe, nearby location for a repo team to seize it and avoid confrontation with the owner.

It is worth noting that filing a patent application does not necessarily mean the technology will be implemented, but the takeaway is a glimpse of the dystopic future.

And that's the thing that gets me especially with the dystopian shit our elites are proposing. None of them are niggerproof. Take the unmanned restaurant for example. Nothing is stopping Tyrone from literally cracking open the door and stealing all that good shit.

Cameras narcing you to the man? It is rayciss and it gets busted immediately.

Beautiful intricate surveillance system? Have fun trying to keep those running when Jay Shawn decides to take a piss on the substation with his buddies looting all the copper.

And the best part is, you can flaunt all the military power you want but that isn't going to stop a nigger from being a nigger. Also, in a weird round-about way, Africa may unironically become one of the best spots in terms of tech development... provided you get to the right tribes.

All the tech you need to keep the Nigger population in line.

:( So, I guess I should not sit waiting around for your Christmas card to arrive, then?
It's my fucking spot, I pay for it monthly. You're going to make me give you 200 bucks to get my car back just because I didn't have the little piece of paper hanging from my mirror? FUCK YOU.

Maybe the future isnt so dark after all.
Misc fun fact: The Willy's Jeep is actually the model that Flip Jeepneys are copied out of. Thanks to the fact industry in the Philippines is quite crude and basic due to general stupidity as well as rough weather conditions, only a simple design like that would thrive down there.

In fact, the jeeps in question would be regularly used in floods.

Diesel engines, IIRC, with the right filters can run on vegetable oil.
Diesel engines are great. They're reliable, they last forever and they can burn a bunch of different fuels, including vegetable oil and you can make diesel out of pretty much any kind of oil in your backyard with the right equipment. The process isn't actually that difficult. There's lots of videos out there of people showing different setups and techniques, usually using used vegetable oil from restaurants.

Maybe I should get an Ural-4320 instead of a UAZ-469...

...is there any way to convert a gasoline engine to run on diesel or veggie oil?

Quite dystopian but also if you don't pay for your shit, it's getting taken. People seem to have a hard time with the concept of paying for shit these days. I've seen enough videos of niggers going ape when their hoopty gets repo'd to feel much at this point.

Pay your fucking bills, lol. Who gives a shit what Ford does with a vehicle that they still own?

The big issue, is if someone finds a way to abuse those systems. Like say, some banker who can only get his 2 cm dicklet hard by repossessing cars, decides to take away someone's Ford that has already had the car loan paid off in full, just for fun. It's like how Bank of America forclosed houses, even if the loan payments have been on time, or even if the mortgage was already paid off, just for fun. (I forgot what was the reason for that)

So it's push-button kikery instead of the old fashioned paperwork variety. That banker could always send a tow truck and bill you for your trouble. This is a corruption issue and nothing to do with the method of repossession.

Not really. Diesel engines are compression ignition, gasoline engines are spark ignition.
Basically, in gasoline engines, air and fuel are mixed then it's compressed and ignited by a spark. In diesel engines air is compressed then fuel is injected and the pressure is what ignites the diesel.

The compression ratio in diesel engines is much higher than gasoline engines. A gasoline engine block would split and crack under the heat and pressure that diesel engines operate under. Diesel engines are built out of thicker stronger metal than gasoline engines.

You'd be better off doing an engine swap. Which is still going to be a tough endeavor depending on the vehicle and you'll need to swap more than just the engine.

Thanks. I knew Diesel/Gasoline engines were different, but I didn't know how and why.

Does this also mean that a diesel vehicle couldn't be EMP'd in the event of a nuclear war?

Older mechanically injected ones (pre 1986) without ECUs would probably be ok. Any diesel with electronic fuel injection would be just as vulnerable as any gasoline engine with electronic fuel injection. I'm pretty sure all modern diesel engines use electronic fuel injection.

So basically any Soviet-era design/example would be fine.
