Not only their lack of achievements but their bizarre transfer strategy. Tonali to Spurs, Gordon to Barca, and now Guimaraes to Arsenal (they're in talks)? Isak to Liverpool of course another. I don't remember the Sheikh's taking over Citeh and buying top players only to load them off a couple of seasons later. Maybe they're reconfiguring and going for a different approach where they don't spend the world? I don't know, I'm confused by what they're even trying to do at this point. And as much as I like Eddie Howe he's shown that he can coach a side fighting for the Europa or Conference League, but if you have aspirations of becoming a side that's a PL and CL stalwart, Howe is not your guy.
I'm going chalk on the quarterfinals:
France, Spain, England, Argentina.
Not exciting but this is really when the rubber hits the road.
I think Switzerland has the best chance of an upset, but I don't think FIFA would allow that until they'd face England.
