Which nations? Because depending of the place I don't think even collage football fans are willing to die and we aren't even talking about south america or eastern europe here. The average football fan in a situation of direct confront would be willing to literally brawl and help a guy that he knows because he supposes he also supports his team.we at least have the passion part in spades... when it comes to college football. Dare I say college football fandom rivals football support in some nations
When I think Brazil has it bad, Italy said: hold my salami and proceed to sit in my salami holding hand without lube.Bosnia just advanced to the World Cup over Italy on penalties, 4-2. Italy had a red card at the 40' on which the Bosnians could not capitalize- the game ended 1-1, and the extra time was scoreless.
Italy's last World Cup appearance was in 2014.

(There is a gigantic brawl in 1996 in a juniors final in Brazil that one guy died and you can see people from both sides helping him because they thought he was from their club at different points of the brawl. And it wasn't the main club, just the juniors)
The truth is that football is much more complex than the american sports in ways that Americans can't understand, that goes against marketability and it goes against getting more money. A simple example is how football stadiums aren't always full because they choose to not even sell the areas where there is direct frontier with the visitors. So there is an entire buffer area just to separate it from them. This doesn't make money but it is the safest decision.
Last Copa América finals was a great example of how out of touch football culture in the US was. Things that South America knows by heart into how organize a match was completely fucked there. And that was a nation's level competition that people are way more civil and expensive than normal club match.
The entire sports culture is different. Americans like their half time shows, cheerleaders, jets flying over stadiums.
Footballs just want their game and nothing else. The clubs WC that was held last year was full of cringe americanisms like being called over to walk inside the pitch with some woman calling your name. Meanwhile in football you always walk as the team and holding hands of the children. Trying to make the sport more americanlike is a complete mistake.
It happens so damn much that there are studies over the politics and alliances over TO alliances and rivalries. Sometimes different TO (ultra factions) of the same tram have different alliances and they act as support for their allies when they go to their city in order to watch the game.We do get violence every now and again though just on a much smaller scale, and people do die here just not often enough for it to be a problem
I dont even think it is related to this, it is straight up cultural aspects. If you go to the stadium and sit there, at those moment they are your people, no matter who they are. Class stops existing during the game, all they want is to win. After the game you can see class in different light but during the game is almost inexistent.I think a part of this dichotomy between America and most the rest of the world is socioeconomics but that's a bigger conversation to be had

Thats what 20 years of ngubu worship and fuck fuck political games get you.
The solutions being proposed are more politics and niggers of course.
Oh thank god. I’ve still not forgiven the pizza-scoffing bastards for knocking us out of the World Cup in 1990. Plus dire, boring, ten defenders and a goalie style of play. Fuck Italy.Bosnia just advanced to the World Cup over Italy on penalties, 4-2. Italy had a red card at the 40' on which the Bosnians could not capitalize- the game ended 1-1, and the extra time was scoreless.

The Manchester City goalkeeper's behaviour towards his opposite number, Nikola Vasil, has sparked criticism. Shortly after Esposito missed his penalty, a heated argument broke out between the two 'keepers, and the reason behind the animated conversation was about at such a pivotal moment has now been revealed.
According to BILD, Donnarumma snuck into the goalmouth and grabbed Vasilj's cheat sheet as his fellow goalkeeper celebrated the missed spot kick. He then appeared to damage the piece of paper. The report claimed (watch from 2:06 of the video below):
"Afterwards, the cheat sheet, which listed all the Italian shooters and their preferred corners, was clearly damaged. Apparently, Donnarumma had intended to tear it up."
Referee Clement Turpin was forced to step in and, while Gianluigi Donnarumma avoided a second yellow card - something that could have proved a turning point - he was ultimately allowed to remain in goal without it making any real difference.
In the end, his gamesmanship counted for little. Italy’s penalty takers faltered, missing the target, meaning Bosnia didn’t even need to rely on their so-called “cheat sheet” to come out on top.
Still won't beat 2010 for being awfulThis is shaping up to be a memorable World Cup for all the wrong reasons.
I know the message of unity in the face of polarization is super corny and played out at this point, but Americans do not skimp on supporting Team USA at the Olympics.I actually think americans support their USA team in olympics or even the WC ... because somehow they feel more proud and patriotic
At least 2010 produced two catchy songs. Official song of 2026 is the worst muttslop I've ever heard.Still won't beat 2010 for being awful
Can't believe the Caliphate of Deutschland still lets them celebrate thatYesterday no matches were played in 1. and 2. Bundesliga bc Jesus died and it looks like some people couldn't handle it.
Haha imagine losing to a bottom level teamGreetings from Espawnya (via espn). Real Madrid lose 2-1 to... Mallorca (in 18th place before these 3 points)!
WEArsenal got knocked out of the FA Cup by... *checks notes* ... Southampton.
