ETA: Apparently they exist, but they're a lot rarer nowadays.

Not only did they use Red dye #3, which is a likely carcinogen, but that fucking dye used to get EVERYWHERE. It would stain your teeth, your hands, your clothes, etc. The only reason they were ever dyed to begin with is because the Middle Easterners who used to grow the majority of the world's pistachio supply didn't grow them or harvest them properly, and the nuts looked like literal turds, both in and out of the shell.

That’s not really how GPUs work. Nvidia/AMD aren’t “just a factory” you can't replace them like that, they are primarily design and software ecosystems. The silicon is mostly manufactured in Taiwan (by TSMC) because advanced GPUs need insane yield control, and that isn’t something a shitty Chinese factory can spin up.

Even if China can assemble a “local” graphics card, matching Nvidia/AMD is more than making a chip that powers on: you need an ecosystem. That’s why “just taking over and making GPUs” isn’t realistic it’s years of R&D, patents, tooling, and software drivers, not just manufacturing.

I have very mixed feelings about Trump. On one hand he has some very rare qualities like not backing down in one of the most concerted establishment attempts to destroy a person when 99.9% of other people would have folded. On the other hand he lacks other very common leadership qualities like being able to restrain himself from needlessly creating drama every 5 minutes or picking noncrazy or nondisloyal underlings.

Another annoying thing about his Admin is that they will often go out and suddenly do things that have bad optics to the normie public with seemingly zero plan or preperation to justify or explain it or even help their supporters explain it. Only belatedly weeks or months later sometimes finally explaining themselves.

Like when Trump pardoned the former Honduran President right at the same time he was blowing up the Narcoboats the news just dropped with no context and it looked like he just did it for shits and giggles until it slowly dripped out that it was a deal to get cartel information. Or the time when they shut down the NASA climate data monitoring and only months after did the explanation slowly dribble out that they were consolidating weather duties with the NOAA. Or the tariffs where they put zero effort into making a believable explanation and just came up with some silly formula that was debunked in a few minutes when they could have just said 'look we don't want Americans buying foreign shit so much anymore'. And only much later did somewhat more satisfactory explanations of tariffs begin to come out.

Justified or not, you gotta put some effort into PR. Don't leave your supporters hanging with no information or talking points so often.

But still this is much preferable to what would probably be happening if the other side won. Come to think about it America really hasn't had very many great Presidents on the level of the top European luminaries. The US's power has come more from its people and inherent strength rather than its leaders. Good Presidents just tend to get out of the way.
