The only things I can think of that are actualy bad about it are
-The QTEs come out of nowere and can instantly kill you and can cost you a perfect run
-The first one lacks color making most areas look the same
-The PS3 version is ass

I thought the Sega/Sonic ring connection in the first game was dumb and didn't fit the atmosphere. I like both her design and personality. But it's not for everyone. I'm a fan of Bayonetta with long hair, but need to play the second game in order to see if the short hair supremacy crowd is correct.
