there's 5 songs and none of them are very catchy and there's pretty much no actual vocals which is boring; but hey no dialogue to skip past.

IMO, for discussion sake: less is more. we really didn't need all these bells and whistles to be present in part 1.
we really didn't need the moving arrows, or the fancy particles, or 80 fucking death lines, or probably even the menu themes and shadowed-out graphics of all seven deadly sins.
but that's what we got
it doesn't help that it feels like that's where most of the focus went, with the rest going to either ectospasm or the goddamn booba moth.
all the fancy shit could have either all come later or not at all.
it's not like his target audience all has an up-to-date machine that can run that shit. being mostly kids and all.

i also fucking hated the direction he went for most of retro's songs. im high as hell i dont know what theyre called. you know those spasm-y notes at the start of spectral? the shit that he seems to use through the whole OST? i fucking hate that. made a mediocre soundtrack just bad.
but i'll be real: booba moth was added in as a fucking failsafe. if everything else sucked at least there's the porno lustmoth to attract half of twitter. and it worked. sakuroma is a stupid goddamn name.

TLDR: "i spent a couple thousand dollars on part one of my mod, why isn't it a universal favorite?" :(

Those stupid effects made the mod even worse because they legitimately made me nauseous as I was trying to play it. Not to the point of throwing up, but I felt a little like a migraine coming on like I had just ridden a tilt a whirl. And I kind of felt a little dizzy. Thankfully the song was mercifully short.

I already said it once, but Friday Night Funkin is the Super Smash Brothers of rhythm games. It's fun making dumb crossovers with all sorts of characters from internet culture, and the music is generally pretty good.

Also like Smash, there are annoying cretins who take it way too seriously and probably touch children.
