On a related note, it looks like the former Adelaide F1 GP track is back on the menu... for MotoGP in 2027. (A)Fucking Australia GP should be held at 8 AM Australian time, so euros can have some chance watching it, I can't bring my ass to wake up at 5 AM even if the race will be mental.
Apparently, FIM (which is now owned by Liberty Media) wants to add at least one street circuit to its calendar, and the Victorian Government weren't keen on the Australian MotoGP being moved from Phillip Island to Albert Park. (A)
Meanwhile, one of South Australia's richest businessmen was negotiating with FIM (A) behind closed doors.
There are safety concerns (A) about holding a MotoGP street race, but it seems like FIM/Liberty and the South Australian Government are hell bent on making this happen.
As a bonus, the Australian round of WorldSBK will relocate to The Bend Motorsport Park (A) (located about an hour away from Adelaide) in 2028. I'm sure that has nothing to do with said businessman owning The Bend and being a motorsport fanatic.
